Good morning!!

Training to work at the Neewollah store last night.. I like to play with the cash register to remind me what to do.. one year is a long time.

The jury is still out on the contacts. I don't trust myself to drive in them yet so I just wear them around the house to get used to them. Taking them out isn't so easy, so I practiced a lot, and looked at you tubes. Lolo...

Hope you all are doing okay. Think I'll pop in at exercise today. It's been a while....

I wish the contacts would work for you. But it can definitely take time and patience and experience.

Our fair is here and we've been once, expecting to go a couple more times. Thank goodness for fasting...

Waiting for my next work assignment....

Thanks, Cat... I hope I answered your question.

Good for you on the fasting. Dh is teaching a class on spiritual disciplines and fasting is this week. I told him it is better than the week of Neewollah.

The lenses feel fine, just think I need a stronger right one and an easier way to get them out. I think they stick to my eyeball..

Sorry if you've already tried this and if I've already suggested this, but RIGHT BEFORE you remove the lens, put an eye drop (just an over-the-counter something to moisten) in the eye. Remove the lens while the eye is still moist.

You've probably tried everything, sorry.

Work assignment supposed to arrive today. We'll see.

How many grams of fat and protein is everyone shooting for? Ballpark numbers welcome, thanks.

Yes, Judy, that seems to work better.. I'm getting better. My hairdresser just pulls hers down on the white part and pitches it out.

Cat: I sent you a pm... Others can chime in..

Well, Connie doesn't have cancer. They are doing more tests. He thinks she might have lupus, but who knows?

How is your plan coming, Cat??

I confess I only stay low carb. I used to really plug my numbers into my excel spread sheet and have higher fat, moderate protein, very low carb.
Now I just stay low carb. I am rarely if ever low fat, but I see now I need to limit my fat and my overall calories.
I often fast until a light snack so I can take my supplements, then one real meal - dinner.
That also keeps me where I want to be.
Fasting has freed my mind from thinking about the next thing to eat, which was a problem for me.

Thank you Carolyn! I cannot see where you mentioned how many 'grams' of fat you shoot for. I appreciate the advice

The only thing I count is fasting hours.

Carolyn, yes I used to pull mine down to the white part of my eye and pinch them out. It gets easier the more you do it.

Just got back from the root canal re-do. It took a while to get the cap off and an hour of drilling out the stuff inside the roots. He said I still had infection under there, despite the antibiotics. So, he shot some antibiotic stuff in the canals.. TMI..

I started pulling mine down and the lense came off easilier!!!

Cat: I don't worry too much about the fat amount, but probably should cut back a bit. Try starting at 50 percent of your calories. It is helpful to get a online counter.

Sandy and Judy do intermittent fasting with great success!!

Thank you, I don't do counters (too many bad memories counting calories/ macros). Just looking for a fat gram jumping off point.

Contacts came out in 2 tries last night...I need to bring it down to the white part after a touch of the drops.

I think the drugs wore off in my root canal. Tylenol didn't cut it, but Advil did. Soft food tonight!!!

Oh man. I just hate tooth pain.
Sorry and hope it goes away fast, quick, and in a hurry!!

My dentist found I had a cracked tooth. Found no infection, so no root canal, but I got a crown on the cracked tooth in January, I think.
It is still tender.

JM, around 60 or so protein and 20-30 or so carbs? Just getting my bearings!

From what I've read in the past few months, that is the bare minimum protein. Consider increasing it?

Judy..That is what I had 15 years ago..My lady dentist put a crown on a cracked tooth..Then
it kept hurting..I switched dentists..Freddy (my dentist) told me that putting a crown on a cracked tooth would lead to a root canal, which it did in my case..

I can take Advil and Tylenol..I think the pain is less today..The way he was drilling and using a chisel to get my crown off, no wonder my little gums are sore.

Cat: Probably no more than 100 grams of protein. Everyone is different and more people
need more protein..Men need more because of their muscle mass.

Please, can anyone explain: What is the main difference between Eat Fat Get Thin by Barry Groves and Eat Fat Get Thin by Dr. Hyman? Confused! This group follows only Dr. Groves, correct? Is it the no dairy and amount of daily protein/carbs recommended only or are there other significant differences?
Thank you.

I'm not familiar with Dr. Hyman, sorry.

We actually all do our own thing. I do eat very much EFGT by Barry Groves, but I also use intermittent fasting so my body doesn't get too comfortable in any one way of eating. I was off wheat so long, if I ever indulge I usually regret it pretty quickly! LOL

Sandy only does intermittent fasting and has been very successful at it.

Carolyn does mostly low carb and moderate protein and lower fat. I think we're using fat as a leverage tool.
If your body has fat on it, let your body eat THAT fat. Don't worry about it too much, but no need to ADD fat is kind of how we've settled.

When our Cindy shows up, she's always thin and not low carb!
Whatever works!

Hi,

Just returned from the dentist with an antibiotic and some hydrocodone. Thank goodness. I had my dentist's home number, but I thought I would be better. I'm sure I will be on the mend now.

Cat, Dr. Groves was the first dr to say, watch your protein! His book is excellent.
I'll get the title for you. It is called Natural Health and Weightloss. He explains why we shouldn't use protein for our energy source. It is more low carb than Dr. Hyman.

Sarah's parents are coming for the Neewollah parade! They will come up with the kids and stay Friday night and leave Saturday night. They are very nice and it will be nice to see them!

Hey girls! Haven't seen Buffy here in awhile. Seems like we lost a few. What was the lady's name that lived in Canada that posted here? Debbie! That's it! Does Debbie still stop by? I weigh 123 pounds thanks to hormones (BHRT) that are on point and i take 200mg a day of 7-Keto DHEA from Netrition. It's always good we keep up on FB with each others lives.
