ready to medi ....

I hit goal a few years back...lost 20 pounds in two months...

Then....mom got sick...she was in a coma....life got hard...

here I am again...

Mom is doing amazingly well and is healthier than ever (slimmer than ever as well) and I am a total mess.

I gained to 150 eating anything served through a drive through or a vending machine in the hospital...from November 2013 to February 2014.

I said screw it life is too short to not eat whatever I wanted...blah blah blah and wahh wahh wahh...gained it all back minus 7 lbs.

What I have learned YET again...is that life is too short to feel like &^(*&^ and have aches and pains...stare at a closet trying to find what looks decent and fits...feeling old...and disappointed in myself.

I did it..I quit smoking and was I was 125.
I ate healthier and felt great about myself and IN myself....now...bleh.

So I am here. Again. to do what I did to lose...again.

Positives...

When mom came out of her coma...the first thing she said to me and Bryan was, "get married." Bryan and I were married September 2014 and mom was able to see it happen Then, mom said I looked terrible LOL...I told her she had been sleeping and losing weight while I was making sure she lived and eating crap

Bryan and I honeymooned in England and Ireland and he was able to see my family...a few terminally ill...I was able to share with him my childhood summer home and the gravesite of my Nana who I loved second to my mom... and my auntie Olive who is terminally ill with cancer and she did not take her pain meds so she could be 'present and awake' while we visited her. He was able to see the lake district where I used to ride horses and taste Cumberland sausage and meat pies. Fish and chips and ice cream with a Flake bar ( a 99) on a beach that almost drowned me twice as a young kid

He held my hand at Nana's gravesite after looking for her for 2 days and NEVER complaining while I cried ( I hadn't been back in 20 years and I was so out of it when we buried her I could not remember where she was).

I learned that love doesn't die during hard times, it grows due to the support of friends, family and loved ones.

I am not loved more at 125 or less at 147.

I learned who my friends are...

I also learned I can quit smoking and get to 125 and be healthy way before this all occurred...and I will do it again. It just sucks to have to do it.

Any second time success stores out there that want to share your experience I sure would love to hear from you.

here we go again....

today I ate 3 steak um and 1 large egg total so far is 400.
I need a dinner that will be less than 500.
Drinking water. I am not on an AS yet because I have a sinus infection and the meds will contraindicate with an AS. However, I am not hungry really at all.

and some sugar snap peas dipped in low fat yogurt bleu cheese dressing.
I am at 260 calories and less than 20 carbs.
I will have some lamb 6 oz with bone at 335
and some greek yogurt with berries for desert at 150

I'm joining you on the restart. I hit my goal of 118 two years ago, and then I'm not sure what happened but I magically managed to put on 25 lbs in two years! Bad habits slowly crept in gradually replacing good habits. You know it's bad when they give you a punch card at McDonalds to earn free coffee. I didn't qualify for appetite suppressant the first time...lol...this time I did. I feel that since I know what to expect I am better prepared mentally. We got this!

hi joselinda!
I know..it does creep back on... glad you are restarting too. I am ready to do this and I KNOW it works but the fact I KNOW it works seems to be dampering my constitution!
It is like I know it works and therefore I don't have that initial by the book mentality I had the first time.
FEAR of it not working made me stick to it without fail..seems I got lazy with that and I let it slip by saying, oh I will stick to it tomorrow...what is a day or two. I have to stop that thinking...that is what got me back my 20 lbs .
I felt so good slim and had no pain and I was driven. I am getting myself back to that mindset and the scale is going down. I weigh Thursday and I hope to have lost 5 lbs.
what are you eating?
today I had lamb and salad. It averaged about 800 cals. and under 20 carbs.

Hi Aim! You got this...stay focused. We're here for you. Jump onl to the Medi 2015 thread and meet some more people who can join us on our journey. Check in every day and let us hold you accountable. I simply refuse to buy bigger clothes.

I met some friends tonight and I'm mad that I slipped with a glass of wine, but at least I didn't tap into the nachos and other stuff floating around the table. It better not kick me out of ketosis or I'll be really mad. We can do this!

One more thing that might help...unlike you, the first time I did Medi I did not every really follow it to the letter and though I achieved results, they were nothing to write home about. This time I am following it to the letter and it makes a huge difference. Commit to doing it right this time again and see what happens.

My plan for today:
Pre-workout--whey protein (28g protein, 2g carb, 2g fat)
B--canadian bacon and scrambled egg beaters
L-- shrimp
D--Grouper
Snack if necessary--egg whites

I am doing ok. I have only lost 4 lbs but I have not been perfect. My husband went and got all the foods I used to eat the first time. We went through my food journal and literally made a list from it. How about you?

Seriously Aim, jump on the Medi friends 2015 thread. Lots of good info and motivation. I enjoyed my wine and tequila a little too much this weekend. I stayed in ketosis but did not burn any bodyfat (according to my Tanita scale) because my liver was busy breaking down the alcohol and using those empty calories instead. I'm not gonna make that mistake again! I've been in ketosis since 5/3 and havent fallen out. My eating is pretty much a hunk of protein (chicken, fish, shrimp, beef or pork) on a small plate. I live it up at dinner with 2 pickle spears and sugar free jello...woohoo! I am still as determined as when I started to get rid of this flubber. Stay strong my friend.
