I had a bit of a carb fest last night too. Met a friend for dinner and there wasn’t a thing on the menu that wasn’t loaded with carbs. Even the salads. So instead of changing their whole menu I just went with it, including the free ice cream. Little bit of a bump today, including a lot more hunger, but trying to put in behind me a quick as possible.

Almost a month since anyone posted here. Can't let this thread die out!!

I have been doing well. I finally decided to get my act together with my Blood Sugar and it's been pretty good for 5 or 6 days now with fewer meds. No big spikes, and I lost a few lbs but nothing earth shattering. I'm still doing low carb. I have to stick with that for my BS or go on more meds, and I don't want that. I want fewer meds. I eat when I'm hungry and eat what I want, keeping in mind that I have to avoid the carbs. One bad thing....our tomatoes are starting to ripen. I am really big on tomato sandwiches, so I'm not sure how I'm going to get through this. I might go with Low Carb Pita and see how that goes.

Terri, the way I eat resembles CAD/CALP a bit, but I don't follow all the rules. What I mean is, I normally eat a zero carb breakfast and/or lunch, and if I'm going to have carbs, they will be at dinner, when I usually prepare carbs for DH.

I'm still not real good with cutting out the snacking, but I do see an improvement. Baby steps. It took me a while to get this fat....it's not going to go away in a big hurry.

Hi Carol!

It's always so good to hear from you!! You're doing so great continuing to make changes. I'm very proud of you!!

I've been doing okay, treading water. I'm thinking about giving CAD/CALP another try. Kind of IE style. I'm going to focus on the low carb foods I really love for breakfast and lunch and then eating whatever I want for dinner within 60 minutes (high carb, low carb, whatever I want). And yes cooking for DH is a factor Funny thing is though, I find when I indulge in carbs (legally) I don't usually find it as satisfying as I expected.

Me too, except for chocolate. Chocolate is ALWAYS satisfying! LOL But I can relate. I would never order french fries again eating out, but I'll sneak one or two off DH's plate.
