Fasting is the new hack

Saw this article today. Interesting that fasting and ketosis is getting greater traction now. I might need to try a serious fast one of these days!

That's interesting, thanks for sharing.

I live about an hour south of San Francisco, and there is a tolerance for all kinds of diets and cleanses. No one bats an eye if you don't eat gluten or dairy or something else.

Multi day fasting would still get some raised eyebrows, so I just don't talk about it. I made the mistake once of telling a coworker I didn't bring lunch and wasn't eating until dinner. "So you ate a really big breakfast, right?" Nope. "Oh no, that's sooooo bad for you!"

I never eat breakfast, I eat lunch when I get hungry, then dinner. Some days I don't get hungry, so I don't eat lunch either. I drink water and take my vitamins though.

Personally, I think it's a much more natural way to eat - our forebears certainly ate only when they found or hunted something, not because it was 7 am or 6 pm!

The Doc told me after my surgery that I should be eating Breakfast Lunch and Dinner, no legitimate reason just do it, so for a week or so after I had a nibble of Breakfast with my Coffee just so I didn't have to hear my husband's caterwauling that" I'm already doing stuff the Doctor said not to...ya just won't listen will ya" You get the picture...I was too weak to debate or even listen to him!!! now I have gone back to my regular routine of 16 hours and No food. I eat dinner at 5 pm and I don't eat again until 9 am or so. I might deviate from that if we gave guests or Dinner out but not that often. I feel so much better. When he starts that yapping now I tell him to shut his Pie Hole: laugh: I told the Doctor that when I eat my meals is not his concern...Just patch me up and save that Sh@# for someone whose paying attention

I don't really consider fasting to be a hack. It is more along the lines of the way humans were meant to eat. Eating 3, 5, 6 meals per day, etc. are all plans designed by someone.
