It was like 10 tons of whatever kept getting dropped on the roof. I did say the f-bomb a few times. But listening to the hammering and sawing all day, that was enough for me. I'm hoping it rains today so they can't work

Sausage patties, spinach lasagna, burgers. Beef sticks and nuts if needed.

Marilee, so happy you are enjoying working with meals on wheels and cooling off in the pool!

FF, when I worked at the candle factory they bought us pizza a lot. I always just ate the toppings too!

Chris, good going at outback -such will power. Those wings sound so good. Love crispy skin!

Tony, it is amazing how your family keeps growing and growing! I don't miss the candle making but do miss some of the people there. Also miss the free samples they gave us once in awhile. My goofy brother asked when I started working at the elastics plant were they going to give us free samples of depends?

Hi all, checking back in -

FF, I'm glad you're back to feeling well enough for pizza!

Tony, one of the especially nice things about reading this thread is reading about your family. Blessings on your son's marriage.

Hey everybody! I went home last weekend for the holiday, then met with my contractor. Then, I had a very hectic week at work. So, trying to get caught up with everybody.

The temps are a lot cooler here for the moment, so I will probably do my 5 mile walk today. Does anyone have any good recipes using cauliflower? I have one in the fridge that I need to use. I usually do a pizza crust or a loaded "potato" type casserole. But I'd love to try something different.

Hey Artemis! Not really a recipe, but l have mixed some cream cheese and shredded cheddar with hot steamed cauliflower for a kind of mac and cheese dish. Have a lovely walk today!

Mmmmm Mac n cheese!!!

Mom and Dad stopped by today, I've got my 10# of bacon, 5# of salmon, and 2 cast iron skillets from my sister. Only $36 for all of it! The bacon is like a restaurant would use, slapped on parchment paper. That makes it so much easier. Mom said it's thin and fries up to nothing

The only plan for today is grocery shopping. This week dinners will include salmon and asparagus, hamburgers, breakfast, Mississippi chicken in the crock pot. I need a few more cheap ideas.

Today has been sausage patties and cheese so far. Coffee of course, I'm not sure what else I'll have today, I'm not really hungry.

what was unique, was bringing the pizza into the house

now THAT took discipline. tonight will be the usual Chinese repertoire. I have been very, very lazy lately. however, tomorrow, I will be stepping out. I hope y'all have been spared the ravages of Harvey and Irma. they should be renamed Caligula and Nero! Happy summer day #82. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi guys,
Looks like I am returning at the end of this blitz. So sorry for not popping in sooner. Life has given me several lemons and I am attempting to make lemonade (sugar free of course) out of it. Just a quick update, the marine will hopefully be back state side mid-October. Hopefully this will be his last deployment. No weight-loss on my end. In fact I have gained. We are currently awaiting hurricane Irma to bear down on us tonight. I was bad and bought a lot of junk food. I did boil some eggs and we have propane so hopefully will be able to cook. I have to go back to work on Wednesday so I pray that we do not have a lot of damage. Because she turned we are now just to the east of the eye which is the worst side to be. It might take a few days to update but I will. If there is anyone else in Florida please stay safe..........

Stay safe!!!

I just made bagels. I'm not too impressed, but I'm not going to waste them. They're decent toasted and smeared with Philly. Mississippi chicken in the crock pot. AND the kitchen is still clean

The old man and Thing 1 went fishing, a tournament is 90 minutes or so away. No plan for today except laundry, my Sunday ritual.

I love experimenting in the kitchen! Though I do find it easier to do when you aren't trying to cut carbs out of things. While brainstorming about my cauliflower, I remembered a taco-inspired pasta dish that I used to make and I decided to replicate it using cauliflower florets. Delicious!

Everybody stay safe if you're in the path of the storms!

just read everyone's posts to catch up...when i meld it all together, it sums up like this:
i'm worried about sara
i'm wondering if ff REALLY made it out of the house
i can't believe abi slept for ten hours, since i think that was her total for 2016
i'm happy pen likes my stories
i'm laughing at chris AGAIN!
I'm drooling over artemis' cauliflower taco

the wedding was wonderful!...the site was amazing...they were taking their vows with views of the white mountains behind them - bright, beautiful rainbows arching over their heads - it was unreal...we all got soaked in the rain and then they moved inside under the tent...great food, people and fun...the babies were amazing...

on the way home yesterday, dw and i took the babies to storyland amusement park which they LOVED...no one else had the energy to join us...that's okay - we had a blast!

sarah and her fiance` left boston today for a few days in nashville...

went shopping today - made bacon and got ingredients for gumbo which i may make tomorrow...buckling down...

Irma has finally made her way to Indiana, the clouds were yesterday, the edge of the rain is starting now.

Tony, that sounds like a story book wedding!

Breakfast was a bagel with cream cheese, I'm not sure if 7 carbs are worth it, but they do fill you up. Lunch will probably be a tuna salad pack, I didn't bring anything but the snack drawer is full. Dinner will be breakfast.

Torture for yesterday was finally filling the pumpkin roll with the awesomeness cream cheese and powdered sugar guts. OMG I want a slice so bad!

Tony, the wedding with the rainbows sounds beautiful! The kids had to love Story Land! When Jen was little we would fly her solo from Alabama to Hartford to stay with the grandparents, uncles and aunts. They would take her to Santas Land etc. She would hate to come homa. Lol

how are y'all, HEWMONS?

I am happily surprised that my living room fan is working wonders. however, I have not ruled out getting an a.c. next summer. my neighbor 2 floors below mine spends $200.00 a month on her utility bill June through Sept. that gives me pause for reflection. Tony, I am sure Sarah is fine. please keep us posted. I am awaiting my chicken soup...with real chicken! Happy summer day #85, Blitzers. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

ff, i hope you get the a/c, but i'm guessing you knew that!...haha...btw, it really is nice having you back after your lengthy tech-exile...

abi, they did love it...we didn't get there til 2 and it closed at 5, so they gave us free tickets to come back another full day either this year or next...good deal - it was like yesterday was free...

chris, that pumpkin roll with cream cheese is driving me crazy now!...

That pumpkin roll is driving me crazy too! I can hear it calling me from in the fridge

I found out my boss is quitting. It doesn't matter to me who the next one is, they're all great.

I'm doing a 3 day Stillman again, I've stalled for way too long. But I don't think it's an official stall, I'm still losing inches, not much, but I can tell. The scale hasn't moved and I'm getting frustrated. I'm gonna see if I can live off of chicken and tuna for a few days. No cheese is the hard part. We'll see what the snack drawer yells around 10:30 when I get hungry And yes, I see a pattern of me hearing things

Good morning. It's quiet in here.

Stillman was an epic fail, but that's ok, I'm proud to be a cheese and sf seed addict!

No clue on today's food, it hurts to think.

Good morning and TGIF!

Have to make the mail run for work, which is getting old fast. Mileage is an extra $32.50 each trip, but I wonder if it's worth it.

I went rare on the steak last night and I think it was closer to black and blue. OMG was it good! I couldn't believe it, my mouth was in heaven!
