I don't drink coffee; it's strickly caffeine-free tea for me (Bigelow's French Vanilla Chai, which happily I love).

Carly & Ouizoid - where are you finding the Quest Protein Cereal bars? I looked at 3 stores today, with no luck.

Oh my, I LOVE these babies! They really hit my sweet spot, but more on the order of a granola bar, rather that a candy bar (like the Atkins bars). Sweet, but not over the top.

Netrition carries them by flavor, but I got a variety pack from Amazon, of all 3 flavors. I really like all 3, esp. cinnamon roll and waffle, yum!

Flavored sea salt on raw or cooked veggies really makes them pop!
I picked up: Cornish Sea Salt with Lemon & Thyme (HEB in Texas has it) and it is such a hit of flavor, it's fantastic

I get a great one at Home Goods. It's delicious and tastes great on salad with SF Rice Vinegar. I'll check the name when home.

Thanks!
I picked it up thinking it would be good on fish (it is) but I sprinkled some on sliced cucumber and tomatoes and it was awesome

Thought I'd put this here because it's probably a little more calories than some might want to use on a DD but it is lower carb.

1 low carb tortilla
1 slice pepperjack cheese
8 thin slices pepperoni (or half a serving)

Spray the pan lightly with coconut oil (similar to Pam) and warm. Heat the tortilla on both sides. Cut the cheese in half and lay on one half the tortilla, add pepperoni, cover with the other half of cheese. Fold the tortilla over that and flip back and forth until desired crispiness. Cut in half or fourths to make it look like you have more!

The brands I use come in at 230 calories.

To make it more DD friendly one could use a wedge of Laughing Cow Light Cheese (35) and Turkey Pepperoni (35) for half a serving IIRC. With the Tortilla, depending on brand, it might come in around 140-160.

p0rtia - Exactly, depending on the calorie needs. It works for me even at the higher calories because it's low carb and within my DD calorie "budget".

Carly - good substitutions for anyone needing to bring the calories down.

Texture is like an al-dente pasta, not bad.
It doesn't seem to soften much, so that's what you get.
Flavor is neutral BUT there is a slightly "pickled" taste that I could not rinse away.
Letting it sit in the marinara helped, but it didn't get completely rid of it.

IMO this would make a great salad addition.
It stays firm, has that light pickled taste and the texture is firmer than a zoodle, but not chewy like a shirataki pasta.

Also the can says 6 servings, there's no way unless they're really small.
I'd say 3 servings as a main dish, 6 of you put it in a salad or soup.

trader joes sells sliced rounds of hearts of palm in bags. I have sliced them further to use as pasta. They are ok, but not wonderful. Certainly low in calories though!
