My first few days on JUDDD were difficult for one reason, I couldnt get my coffee to taste right with anything other than half and half (thanks Starbucks for that addiction) After much trial and error I found SO DELICIOUS DAIRY FREE brand Original Coconut Creamer. I was desperate and bought it even though I hate the taste of coconut. I was thrilled to discover it doesnt taste coconutty at all, is very creamy and only 10 cal per TB. WOOT WOOT. Between this creamer and gluc powder recipes I am one happy camper every DD. I bought it at Whole Foods but googled it and found almost every health food store in my area has it. Fellow coffee addicts, run out and get some asap, you will be amazed. I dont even use half and half on UDs now!!!!!

I'll be looking for that. I stopped drinking coffee most UDs because I didn't want the half and half calories! But some UDs I really want some badly!

The Walden Farms Chocolate Peanut spread is pretty good too. I have these 10 calorie rice cakes so I put it on 2 of them and that is chrunch and chocolately peanut for 20 calories!

yes, I looked for the So Delicious creamer today in the grocery store but didn't see it. Guess I need to go to maybe my local natural foods store for it. Can't wait to try! Already have the pumpkin and pp spice on hand. Sounds great!

I saw those at Target today and almost picked them up, but I'm not usually a "flavored" coffee drinker. That good, huh? May have to go back!

Egg White Omlette 23cal 0carbs

Egg White Omlette 23cal 0carbs

This is a low carb, low calorie staple for my DD's. Once I realized that I could have this any time the hunger pains strike, I got some serious 'chill' going on!

I realize many of you know how to cook; I'm posting directions for folks who are starting out in the kitchen.

Here is the finished dish:

Slice the ends off the zuchinni, cut in half:

Cut in half again then slice, these slices are cut in half again for this recipe:

Heat up a nonstick skillet to about 260F, add a dash of oil, then place slices in pan:

Let cook for a couple of minutes until brown, then turn (I'm trying to show how much oil I used, that's a little white spatula):

Cook a couple more minutes, then turn down heat to low, cover:

While that's cooking, crack an egg, discard the yolk. Beat it a little or a lot, depending on what you like. For this dish, I just beat about 30 seconds.

Take lid off pan, stir squash, then pour egg white over it:

Place lid on pan, cook for a couple of minutes.
Then turn:

Let cook for another minute or so. Turn off heat, place omlette on plate, add pepper sauce, salt, etc. Eat before it gets cold

Luv 2 eat--the calorie difference is trivial, but isn't this more than 23 cals? A small (120g) zucchini is 20 cals and an eggwhite is 15? And any oil, additional cals? Maybe closer to 40?? Not that this is a big deal, I would still love to eat this!!

Oh, you're right! I was entering 'medium baby zucchini' in ****** and it gave me 2 cal, but I weighed the zucchini and entered the grams (110) and it gave me 23 cal. I didn't realize a medium bby zucchini would be only a couple of grams. This puts the dish closer to 69 calories.
Thank you for pointing out the error, Ouizoid.

Sorry for the confusion - I've recalculate the approximate calories of this dish:

43 cal
3 carb

I hope this doesn't trip anybody up with their calorie goal.
Kinda bummed that it's double my original estimate, but I can still have a couple of these on DD's. It is a filling dish for less than 50 calories.

new product find! Sea Snax makes chipotle flavoured seaweed Wraps that are big and maybe 5 calories per piece! I layered one with a slice of turkey and a wedge of chipotle queso (laughing cow) for a dynamite 80 calorie wrap!

So, I bought some canned soups b/c of Storm Sandy, and now that it's passed, I thought I'd try one.

Campbell's "light" chicken noodle soup. Label has some blue on it (probably trying to compete with progresso?) and says 25% less calories than their usual.

2 servings in a can, 70 cal per serving-- so 140 cal for a pretty big can.
5g net per serving, so 10g total for the whole can.

I just had it for a late-ish lunch, and I'm stuffed!

the veggie beef is similar, but 80cal per serving.

I'm sure we could make homemade soup that would be similar, but sometimes, convenience foods really are convenient!

I think I had their light version of vegetable soup earlier this week (need to double check that it was Campbells)-50 calories per serving and it was so good! Tasted like regular veggie soup to me

I haven't gone through the whole thread yet so maybe this has already been posted, but Swiss Miss has a diet cocoa mix-each serving is only 25 calories You mix one packet with hot water. Since I don't drink coffee having a warm drink in the morning is really nice. And at 25 calories I can have one at night too

I just got some of this (store brand) hot chocolate mix today! It's fat free and 25 calories. The sugar free was 50 calories. I'd rather have fat than sugar, but on DDs it's all about the calories!

How odd that it's not in your store! I shop at Meijer and they had a whole shelf devoted to diet and sugar free cocoas. Have you checked like Walgreens? Sometimes they carry the most random things lol.

I'm subbing this thread. That's a good idea and I have some curry paste. I have been buying so many groceries lately, I think I'll have plenty to choose from on DD.

I wonder if the SF International Coffees would be good. I used to love those years ago, the regular kind. However, I usually had to put more than a serving size into my cup to make it taste right. I think 2 T is 35 cals (SF).

Thanks, LG. I already use the International swiss mocha, sugar free. They are 30 calories per serving. A serving is 1 & 1/3 tablespoons. But, I put it in my morning coffee, not just in water. I know........lots of caffeine; but, I like it that way!

I'm not prepared for DD tomorrow! I think I'll be ok tho...only working till 1 pm, so no worries. Love all of your suggestions! Ohhh, I do have eggs, and I have zucchini! Problem solved.

Has anyone posted cream cheese pancakes? I used to eat these for supper all the time when I was LCing, and they are delish! The original recipe calls for 2 oz of cream cheese, 2 eggs, sweetener (2 T) and dash of cinnamon. If you wanted to make half the batch (2 pancakes), and use light cream cheese, it would be relatively low calorie. I use Walden Farms 0 calorie syrup and it's very good. To make, blend everything in the blender, or magic bullet, pour into nonstick skillet (sprayed with pam) and cook like pancakes. Can use less sweetener, or more to taste.

Shirataki Noodles!

I had my first DD yesterday. I was hungry all day - until I microwaved a pouch of shirataki noodles, mixed in a teaspoon of sesame oil, a tablespoon of soy sauce and a few dashes of hot sauce. It made my belly full and happy! I think this will be my dinner every DD. I can see using various oils and seasonings such as a garlic infused oil and then Italian seasonings... or coconut oil and curry seasonings... etc. Less than 100 calories and a full belly!

I haven't ever bought the creamer, but I've bought the So Delicious Coconut milk, and it doesn't have much creaminess to it...not enough to make my coffee taste good. Is the creamer better? Those of you who have tried both...?

What gluc powder recipes, and can I buy gluc powder in regular grocery stores?
