After reading the many JUDDD threads here and learning so much, I began my JUDDD journey the day after Christmas 2012. Although the scales are jumping all around, I feel great! I've only lost 1.8 pounds since I started, but am not discouraged at all because I feel so good.

My DD's seem to be easier than my UD's since trying to squeeze in 1750 calories in on an UD is tough, but I know I need to get as close as I can so that the "magic" will occur.

I live in central Texas and have a grown daughter in PA and she will be starting JUDDD shortly as well! How cool is it to have your daughter as a JUDDD BUD?

I'm pushing 65 years old and the scales are very reluctant to move these days, but after reading everything here, if anything can get them to move, JUDDD can!

Thanks to all the regulars here who have posted so much information! Without your posts, I wouldn't be here, so my hat is off to you all!

Pat - I'm pushing 65 also -- this month actually and it does get harder, doesn't it. I just started JUDDDING in Dec after stalling for nearly a year on LC (lost 40 on it). Good luck to you!!!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Can't wait to get to know you all better, and to compare JUDDD notes.

Yes, losing weight in our "mature" years is a bit of a challenge, especially in the winter time when I'd rather hibernate than get my body moving. Hopefully, JUDDD will jump start things enough to motivate me to get me off my butt and start doing my daily walks again.

Thank you to all for the warm welcome.

I have been lurking for some time now again. I started LC'ing in 2004, then fell off the band wagon. I am really hoping this is going to work, and I have the right mind set going in, and I know the DD's are really more mental than anything from what I am reading. I have stocked up on lots of good "staples" that I have been reading about as well.

I have ordered "glu" from Netrition, and I am hoping I can make some glu pudding to help keep me feeling full in the beginning. Evenyually I will learn what foods work best on DD's for me, but it is all trial and error in the beginning, I believe.

Looking forward to a nice long JUDDD journey with you all!

Thanks so much LCG. I agree, it IS great to be taking this journey with my daughter. We're more like sisters or best friends than mother/daughter. This journey will be so much nicer with her at my side, even though she's 1500 miles away from me. I hope your mother decides to take the JUDDD leap and join you too!

See you all on the other threads!

Welp, I lept in today without really planning it, and I am to stay at 414 calories and I will be at 471 once dinner is over. Not horrible for not really planning, but over nonetheless. I must say, I WAS hungry today, but mom says it gets easier!

PS, I also got my "glu" from Netrition in the mail, and I took three (serving size) of them when I got home from work to see if it helps my hunger. True test because I am ravenous!
So here is to day one almost done!

Under 500 for your first DD is fantastic!

Keep in mind that glucommanan is pure fiber. If you're prone to stomach upset with too much fiber, use it sparingly. Also, if you're taking the capsules, make sure you drink plenty of water with them.

Hi All! I am a new Juddder.
This is my second day and my first DD. feeling pretty good, little shakes but am in the zone.
I have a couple of questions,
1. Is there a limit on coffee and tea (will this affect my weight loss or ability to stay on track?
2. Is Stevia okay to use, or will the carbs affect my progress?

Also I used the calculator on The Juddd website and it said that on up days I should consume 2965 calories and on Down days 593.
These numbers seem a bit high. Any advice?

I don't drink coffee or use stevia, so I'm not much help with your questions-but I'm sure someone else will jump in with answers

I'm assuming you're female, and we have your weight from your stats. Will need height and age to calculate.

One thing people commonly do on the calculator is not change from cms to inches or kilos to pounds. That will greatly affect your numbers.

With the glucommanan, I didn't get any belly upset as of yet, and I actually remember about reading that too. I was going to take it slow, but when I got home from work and saw the box, I was so hungry, I took three, not even thinking. It could have been trouble!

Thank you all for being so friendly and helpful!

Hi Dawn, yes I am female 5'3 or 63". I work out 3x a week, but consider it little to none on figures.
My friend who is two inches taller said she was at 1800 UD and 500 UD.
Any advice would be great as I don't want to eat twice as much as I should on an up day

Okay so that was my problem! I had the inches/ centimeters wrong and the lbs / kg's wrong, new cals at 1864 UD and 373 DD.....may be hard at first because I did a 595 day today and that was tough!
I am determined to get this weight off, my youngest is 20 months.....I can't say this is baby weight anymore!

1864/373 are your correct numbers, but many people aim for 500 calorie DDs in the beginning. I didn't because I didn't know it was an option, but many people start at 500 and work down. Some people never need to lower.
