Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to 2015!

More on track today than past few weeks--only 8 more to go! this is taking longer than the other lbs. So I need to get more strict today and next few weeks to get there. Just a side note, you can be very strict or not so strict on the program, I never liked it when people talk about cheating, that seems so negative, but you get better results when you are strict and follow the plan, the challenge for some of us at this time is I am starting month 7 now, it's just getting harder! Walked today, wasn't as cold as yesterday but icy out there. I would deem my day today as fairly strict!

Post your goals soon!

Research states that if you publicly state your goals, you are more likely to achieve them, so here are mind:

.
1. Lose 4 lbs in January
2 Lose 4 lbs. in February
3. walk daily 3 miles, do rower and elliptical at least 3 x's/week.
4. Hit 80 lbs loss by March 1, 2015

Good luck and I encourage you to share your goals!

HI All,
I started back a few months ago but fell of the plan quickly. Lots of excuses but not valid reason. Now I am getting back on track. I go for a weigh-in tomorrow. I am taking all the supplements and the B6/B12 shots. Now its all about staying focused in my head. Today I went to the gym and did 3 miles on elliptical and I feel great. Now its time to stick to it.

I turn 44 on March 21 so my goal is to be 198 on that day!!! I am glad I have you all for support. Anyone in RI looking for a buddy in state, let me know!!

Welcome to the new year everyone! I weighted on NYE and had lost another 0.5 lb. Lost control for a couple days, but back on. Hey, losing 0.5 lb over the holiday is much better than gaining 5!

Welcome Iman 44! congrats Rachel, way to go! Happy to see you back Courtney!
Off for my daily walk outside-icy roads with our puppies and maybe a bit warmer with some new cold gear on I just got today, I have all sorts of cold gear now, but always need more.

My weigh in is on Monday and I haven' been there for 2 weeks, so I need to get it together over the weekend, another Christmas party tomorrow too.
Hoping I get at least your loss Rachel!!

you are supposed to limit real eggs to only 2 per week, do you like cottage cheese? no cheese till week 2, no dairy like milk, I ate a lot of cottage cheese. I just got the container of egg whites and got used to them, this is a staple of the diet that you do use egg beaters in recipes etc. what are you doing with lemon and lime? I know this can effect ketosis also. are you doing power aid zero? sugar free jello? pickles? most people will say the first week is the toughest--I didn't think it was that bad myself but you do feel weaker, tired the first week, you really need to drink a lot of water also. How many calories are you doing?

I was very, very strict until the last 2 weeks, I didn't get into cheating or going off plan, the one thing I did get into was there adkins bars which are o.k. but they can make you want to eat more of them if you know what I mean. If I get less strict, that means I will just eat more on plan--more eggs, more meat, protein, cheese, nut but I have been in ketosis for 6 months straight, so that means, I was quite strict to be there. As far as deli meat, get the good deli meat, not the stuff in plastic containers, it will make you feel fuller. Invest in a good scale also, one that does tare, I got a good one at Wal mart for 20 and weighed all my protein like that. I still weigh it, I will put it in baggies and just eat like that. Don't buy too much at once since it doesn't hold up that long.

Boot camp challenge-Rachel and Courtney

Went to my last Christmas party tonight, glad this is done with, what did I eat, well it was a Wild Game Day Feed, all wild meat etc, I can say I only ate 3 bites of that stuff, didn't care for it, ate cheese, some summer sausage and I did make my pumpkin pies for the party.

Courtney-and Rachel--how about a 2 week boot camp challenge? what does that mean----go back to the program week 1 and really stick to eat on all levels, get ourselves going again and break free from our over indulgence past few weeks! What do you get out of it? All I can send you is a smiley face if you agree, but hopefully closer to our goal is the result we should get, if you agree, we will start boot camp on Monday Jan. 5, let me know.

Sounds good to me Dawn! I've been trying to do week 1, but slipping here and there (eating veggies and dairy). Having others behind me will help! I bet you will make goal if you do it for two weeks!

Workitout - I never heard of the limit on eggs. I do use egg substitute often, but also boil about six eggs weekly to have on hand for when I don't have a plan in place for a meal. I also ate pickles and SF jello in the first week to help stave off salt and sugar cravings.

O.k. Rachel, we are on for us, haven't heard back from Courtney, start tomorrow, I went back to my medi information and it does state a limit on whole eggs, 2 per week, but egg whites o.k. I did a lot of egg whites in week 1. I think I will study it so I can do it now. I have done more than 2 whole eggs in the last 6 months and it did not hurt me at all too. I like them a lot. Today we went walking in the woods by us again, 7 miles in fairly deep snow, 10 degrees here and tomorrow it is suppose to be 35 below zero---maybe no school for me!!! My legs hurt and I am still frozen from being out there. How many calories are you going to do Rachel? when I started I did 500, no fruit or veggies, no nuts, no cheese. I am going to do 500 calories but I think I will still have veggies, no fruit because it is week 1 for me!

I just went shopping!

I will use the lemon (a slice) for my smoked salmon. Hi Rachel, Just in case- I also sucked it up and bought egg white egg beaters, I will have to get used to it. Completely forgot about my sugar free jello- I'll get it sometime this week if I can't take it.

i am targeted 600-900 calories with the 600 being optimal. This is my week 1 food:

Turkey bacon Butterball: 1 slice- 25 calories, 2g fat, choles 10mg, sodium 135mg, carb 0, sugar 0, protein 2g
Egg Beaters egg whites: 3 tablespoons- 25 calories, 5 g protein
Scottish smoked salmon: 2 slices- 70 calroies, choles 30mg, sodium 600mg, carb 0 mg, sugar 0 mg, fat 2.5g
Tuna in water: 90 calories, fat 3.5mg, sodium 100 mg, carb 0g, protein, 13g, cholesterol 10 mg
Chicken Breast, skinless and boneless- no calories I am thinking it is in the very lean section so 35 calories per oz cooked

Whatcha think all good for week 1? I don't know what to do for snacks though, I can prob have the eggs, the smoked salmon and the turkey bacon.
