Hi Rachel, u r getting close to your goal! I didn't realize that u r so close how is hubby doing? I don't know if I will do that contest they pick the 10 people and my story is really no different I can't ask a lot of people I know because of work political reasons etc. i guess if u don't get picked it's no big deal to enter! Well maybe u or I would b chosen! So not sure. I do have a lot of people don't recognize me any longer that is so funny I still see myself heavy and maybe my distorted body image will change! Keep up the good work everyone!

Thanks so much everyone. It was a pretty easy first week. Hopefully, this week will be as good. I just have to get my butt moving.

Ready, Set, Let's Go!!!

So, I finally had my initial consultation this morning. All went well - I was impressed with how thorough they were. So, as I had hoped, I'm healthy in all aspects other than the weight, so good to go!

Official starting weight as per WML scales: 208.0
Goal weight: 140.0, so 68lbs to go...

I went straight from my appointment to the grocery store, so I'm all stocked up and ready to get started tomorrow morning!

you can do it Bridesmaid! Do the program and research why a ketogenic diet can work for you. If you have questions, let me know!

Weight today 138.8 without even trying.

I'm feeling so motivated by you Dawn, and from the new starts these part couple weeks! I've really been out of sorts with this sickness, but started feeling human again yesterday. Giving myself the weekend to heal, then back to exercise. My husband has lost around 20 I think, in 3 weeks! I think he started around 230 with 40 to lose, so halfway there already!

So Here I am walking and attempting to carry the 80 lbs I loss, for all the newbies out there, I got my puppies when I started and they have been integral in my losing weight, I talk about it in all my post, now the puppies are both 80 lbs but the dog food represents the weight I loss. Man---I was struggling with this!

SO, day 1 was tough, but I made it to the end of the day on 533 calories. Felt OK a lot of the day, although was starting to feel a bit light-headed and irritable by the end of the day.

Breakfast was two hard-boiled egg whites mixed with 3/4 cup cottage cheese.
Lunch was 4oz ground beef dry-fried with a bit of yellow mustard.
Dinner was 3oz cod baked with garlic, thyme and lemon.

I have a day of training ahead of me today, so good for keeping busy and I know I'm strong enough to resist all the tasty snacks they'll have on offer. I have my four slices of deli turkey packed for lunch, so all set!

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

good job planning Bridesmaid! what you will be going through is called ketogenic flu, this is expected to feel not so great the first week. Your body is changing from using glucose as primarily fuel to now ketones. Drink lots of water, pickles and sugar free jello too.

Thank you! I drank 160oz of water yesterday, so that probably helped!! I have bought some pickles and sugar free jello, plus some chicken broth, but didn't feel the need for them yesterday. Hope I can get through the day without feeling too rough!

Welcome Bridesmaid!!.

Happy you are feeling better Rachel!

Wow Dawn , lower weight than your goal. Keep it up!!!

I find the people on the forum really keep you motivated more than the folks at the clinic. They become the support group that you need because they are going through and have gone through the same things as you.

I'm feeling really good my second week. I take the stay slim because of my blood pressure and it really helps with my appetite. I'm on my way to the clinic to get my mid-week booster.

Happy weekend all!! Stay focus and lets continue to live a medi-weekend.

Betty

Day 2 wasn't bad at all. I wasn't at all tempted by all the treats at training, helped by them keeping them on a side table so out of direct sight! Calories were towards the top of my 500-600 range, at 595.

Breakfast was a 6oz pot of 0% Greek yogurt followed by half a turkey burger (the ones I got were HUGE!)
Lunch was 4oz turkey slices
Dinner was 3oz fillet steak and 2 slices of turkey bacon

Last night I signed up for the San Jose Color Run to give me something to aim for on the exercise side of things. Downloaded a couch to 5K app this morning, and hoping to drag the kids and husband along for the first walk/jog today.

We have an obscene amount of unacceptable food in the house! Makes it difficult to make good choices! I don't know where all this came from or why I am storing it in plain sight on the counter. Need to find some hidden space for all the kids' treats...

Now that I'm feeling better I have some big plans for my home, will hopefully keep me busy and distracted moving into spring! Right, spring, it's snowing right now, but a girl can dream!

hey all--- so I went to my mom and take her out of the nursing home for the day back to her house, and then my 2 sisters came too! OMG---if I ever wanted to eat that box donuts today was the day, but I didn't and I didn't eat the 2 boxes of chocolates I got her too. Well, just an emotional day, then my 2 sisters went onto some rampage with me that I am obsessed with my weight and I am 52 and why am I wearing skinny jeans for a person my age, then my sister went on to saying her friend said I look older than her and it went on and on and on. I did not stress ate but I could have which I was proud that I didn't. I have not been accused of being too skinny in my life! it was ridiculous! I left my house 18 hours ago and now back here, took puppies for a walk for 1.5 hours and now feeling exhausted.

Tomorrow is my last appointment at the clinic, they told me I don't need to spend any more money there, really! I get my pic taken too so I don't know if I should wear a cute dress or my cute skinny jeans or my new flare jeans with my NO EXCUSES t-shirt! I will have a pic taken so you will find out tomorrow.

Good job everyone, Toss the crap out of your kitchen Rachel! Keep going Bridesmaid, Betty, Kat

Hi Dawn, I also hope you submitted your story, you are such an inspiration. I did go ahead and send mine in last week, was debating with myself and then my husband and DIL really encouraged me to.

Ha Ha Dawn, I thought about his exact thing on Friday when I was picking up one bag of dog food. I also enjoy my walks with my lab, she helps keep me motivated.

Be proud of those skinny jeans, we are pretty much the same age, I am 51 and plan to wear mine when I can. You look great!
Can't wait to see your picture.

Please don't let them get into your head. When your sister's friend said that your sister should've said how great you look and that she is proud that you decided to take control of your health. She should've stood up for you and definitely not repeat that foolishness to you. Sometimes even our family don't like when we change.

Wear those skinny jeans every time to see them. Just know that you look good to you and that is all that counts.

Your medi-friends all think that you look awesome.
