I'm happy that you are finally feeling better. Yeah, while shoveling snow this morning with my husband I said that I can't wait until spring. I'm so finish with this with winter. But at least I got some exercise. It took us 1 hour to do the drive and the walkway.

Anyway, continue working on getting back to 100 percent.

Glad you're feeling better. Definitely need to ditch the treats! I'm being tough on my kids by seriously cutting back on theirs. They still have some, but only things that don't tempt me!!

Well, just an emotional day, then my 2 sisters went onto some rampage with me that I am obsessed with my weight and I am 52 and why am I wearing skinny jeans for a person my age, then my sister went on to saying her friend said I look older than her and it went on and on and on. I left my house 18 hours ago and now back here, took puppies for a walk for 1.5 hours and now feeling exhausted.

Tomorrow is my last appointment at the clinic, they told me I don't need to spend any more money there, really! I get my pic taken too so I don't know if I should wear a cute dress or my cute skinny jeans or my new flare jeans with my NO EXCUSES t-shirt! I will have a pic taken so you will find out tomorrow.

Good job everyone, Toss the crap out of your kitchen Rachel! Keep going Bridesmaid, Betty, Kat
That is just pure jealousy. Well done on staying strong and getting that long walk in rather than resorting to emotional eating!

Good luck with your final appointment - will look forward to seeing your success story featured!!

That sounds like amazing exercise! We even got snow here on Saturday, but certainly nothing that needed shoveling.

Day 3 was the hardest one so far, mostly because we had to eat dinner late due our son's church club being right over normal dinner time. I was pretty spaced out and irritable. However, I got through the day on 515 calories. Possibly a bit too low - I should have had some broth or something in the evening, because I had a bit of trouble sleeping with my tummy rumbling!

However, today is day 4 so first day for testing ketones, and it was positive - yay!

I'm off to the clinic shortly for my mid-week shot. Have a great day everyone!

Nice Pic KRene! you look awesome! I can relate about the pic part---I couldn't figure it out for the life of me! Went to clinic and everyone was happy for me since I "surpassed my 3rd goal weight" Dr. C showed up and was happy etc. My counselor gave me a hug and was delighted. I will post some pics soon, I left my weight jar there to maybe inspire some one else. I still go 2 more times for my wellness part of it. I had my test done today to tell me how many calories I can eat without gaining, it was weird to breathe into that. Everyone is doing great! you can do this too!

Did your ketosis level stay the same the entire 7 months or did it vary? That is fantastic because this morning it was only a trace but I guess that's better than nothing.

The mid-week really helps me. It keeps me focus. Maybe your caloric count of 515 was too low but you'll figure it out.

No loss this week, my body seems to do this at times...I will have minimal loss for a couple of weeks and then it's like it kicks back in and I will have a good loss again. One good thing though was that based on my Tanita slip, I lost about 2 lbs of fat and gained 2 lbs of muscle. I have been craving sweets the last 2 or 3 weeks and I know that's not good. I hadn't been having hardly any cravings. Guess I should have asked about that at the clinic, but didn't think about it.

Don't worry about not losing KRene, next week you will!

It gets easier Bridesmaid!

Ketosis varies--ALWAYS! I could always tell I was in since I had a weird taste in my mouth all the time, eventually if you in it long term, you need to do breath or blood ketones.

Where's Rachel? Kat? how are you both doing?

Boring day at work but doing o.k.? out to take puppies out to walk and feed my horses!

I'm doing OK - better I think. Feel slightly odd, but not too bad. My ketosis stick was definitely pink today, so that's great. Bit disappointed that my weight has stuck for the last couple of days. I know I shouldn't weigh daily, but I can't help myself! Would have expected the weight to be falling off daily this week. Just hoping it'll show up tomorrow.

Thanks Betty. Upping the protein to over 500 definitely helped yesterday! Not quite sure whether the shot made any difference, but I'm doing everything to the letter!! Hope you're doing OK.

What is your plan for maintenance? Do you gradually add more carbs to come out of ketosis?

This happened to me when I lost the baby weight (x2). Although losing fat and gaining muscle sounds even better!! Maybe try some chai tea for the sweet cravings?

Well, I was trying to come up with every possible reason to not do my exercise today. My daughter said mom just pop in the dvd and get it over with. I did and I'm really happy that I pushed myself to do the workout. I used the Shred-IT with Kettle-Bells. It was only for 25 minutes but it was tough and it felt good.

KRene- looking great!

Dawn - I thought you went monthly for Wellness? Also can't believe your sisters acted like that. People have said "You are wasting away!" or "You are so skinny!" and I correct them by stating that I am healthy (I'm not even at a healthy BMI yet!) and feeling great.

Going in for my weigh-in tomorrow, first time in two weeks. I did get in a couple workouts this week, but still trying to recover from eating crap (and the cravings it creates). I don't know if I'll be in ketosis or not. i might need to do another reboot, do week 1 for a week to get myself together. I hope I didn't gain at least! A loss would be nice! Keep up the great work everyone! Snow on the ground here again, please let spring show up soon!

I went in Monday for my "official" wellness start, not realizing I had 2 more appts left!! But I will go back on 16th and 30th, then it will be monthly for wellness, of course, you can go weigh in more for 15.00 per weigh in. I am not doing wellness if you really want to know, still try to stay in transition so maybe I could drop 1-2 more lbs, then I would weigh what my 16 year old daughter weighs. That will b funny if I do that. So yes--wellness is every month but I haven't done none of this how they want it to go since I was suppose to do transition too.

ketosis---there is a lot of mixed feelings out there if you "have to be in ketosis" to lose, I was always in ketosis, that is why say "cheating" is quite detrimental to this type diet since carbs---too many of them will throw you out I personally don't think anyone should get hung on it you are or not in ketosis, since if you are in long term ketosis, urine sticks will not pick it up any longer so you need to do breath or blood ketones. I don't like needles and did not want to spend 200 on a breath unit either. After doing this, I know from my experience and some readings that any reduction of carbs will result in weight loss and for a healthy you. Any diet technically has a reduction of carbs if you look at what they ask you to do. Challenge yourself to really research what a ketogenic diet is and does, then you will really understand why you are doing what you are doing.

maintenance

So what do you do when you get to your goal and do maintenance? Well, you have this calorie type test and it tells you how many calories you can expect to eat if you want to maintain your weight, for me, it is about 1850 to 2015 calories per day if I do 1/2 hour of moderate exercise. Doesn't that seem like a lot! I am doing about 1200 right now and I think that is a lot. it's like more veggies , fruit and then you get a starch. I haven't eaten this yet and if you really want to know rather concerned if I should or shouldn't. Dan is still doing Adkins and I would like to eat what he is doing too. So even though I am at my goal---I think I will stick around transition for now for a few more weeks for sure. So yes, I can eat more food, and here I don't.

Try your best to do the program, it works! but if you slide, just start over and move on. Focus on taking care of u for once and it will fall into place! We all are can put ourselves first too!

I did walk the puppies and practically got dragged by the puppies when the neighbor dogs went after Beau and Tanner.

I did see a loss today, only 0.5 lbs over two weeks, but better than nothing! My clinic asked that my husband and I present a live testimonial at the bridal show this month. We have both been awesome on the program and seen great success, plus the husband-wife team would be good for the bridal show. We'll be doing it the end of the month, and being compensated. I have my sister pulling together a flattering outfit for me, since she is much better at style than I am!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Keep up the great work everyone!
Rachel, A lost is a lost and not matter how small it is so much better that a gain. That's very flattering that the clinic wants you and your husband to talk about your success.

I also had my 2 week clinic visit today and I lost 2 pounds. I'm just taking it one pound at a time.

Let's all keep pressing towards our goals.

Good job Rachel! any loss is great! I made cupcakes and the pumpkin muffin for my birthday treat tomorrow, Big 53! I didn't eat any real cupcakes but I did eat too many pumpkin low carb muffins, I can't make any of those!

Great loss Betty!
