Pork loin chops are ok if you trim the fat. And I can't imagine a mushroom will do too much damage lol!

A pork chop is still meat! And I had a mushroom too! It's a low carb veggie so it shouldn't throw you off and it was only one mushroom!

Stay away from the ice cream!

Quark is like a really soft cheese, it's very sweet too. I love it.

Ooo send me your recipes for cottage cheese and jelly dessert too
I am having that pain in my side that's the other reason I want to cut back too maybe it will make the pain go away. I don't drink excessively and my dr seems to think it's fine that I have a few drinks a week but I think it is throwing off my weight loss regardless.

I wish we had it, I will go search for it in some of the bigger stores.

I would put cottage cheese in the blender until smooth and then make jello with less water and mix it all together and I was like a sweet cheesecake treat. Another thing j would make it cottage cheese ice cream. I will have to look back and find that recipe but I remember it being super simple to make and pretty tastey and it was stills legal but it would stall me because I would eat too much of it Haha

A friend of mine passed away last evening. While not entirely unexpected, I did not expect it to happen yesterday, and I had made plans to visit her today.

I ended up eating the ice cream and a bag of chips. I am an emotional eater. However, I stood there contemplating it and even asked myself if it would. Normally when I go on those feeding frenzies, there's not much thought involved.

It didn't, for what it's worth. I think, in regards to eating it was a turning point. I am done using food to deal with emotions. While it used to work somewhat when I was a normal size, it no longer does. Too much shame and regret follows. On that note, it used to be a " treat" and for the past year it's literally been stuffing my face to the point of being ill.

I am a recovered alcoholic, and I can see the similarities, where I used to be able to go out and drink socially and it truly was a release and done in moderation, the booze reached a point where it stopped working and I had to let it go, as it was causing major problems.

Now, the junk food. I can still remember a night shift last year ( I'm a nurse) where a co worker was doing a Burger King run. I said " oh yeah...I guess get me blah blah". And honestly that's where it started. I stuffed myself that night, and it didn't really stop... I know one meal is one meal, but I had given myself permission and didn't look back until I gained 15 lbs, and by that point I had started seroquel, which is known to cause massive weight gain. And it certain,y did. I'm not going to beat myself up because I know from past experience and from working on psych that they don't know exactly why, but it DOES. I've seen people gain upwards of 100, though 40 the first year seems to be typical.

I just returned from my doctor and she feels as though I should remain on the seroquel, despite the fact I've been tapering and ecstatic that I had gotten down to such a small dose. I have to agree though, with everything going on, needing to find a new job, my close friend, and everything else, now is not the time to be experimenting with something new, the seroquel works, it was just that the weight gain had gotten out of control.

So! All my research tells me that extremely low carb seems to be only real successful weight loss that people have while on seroquel. Eating crap and continuing to gain is not going to help get through the loss of my friend.

At least I didn't gain...I'm holding steady at 195, so I likely would have seen a drop this am.

I apologize for the length of this post haha. One day at a time as I learned from a certain program that helped me quit drinking haha, and I am adopting that thought with this diet. No end goals, no weight loss by this date, just one day at a time.

Hope everyone else is having a good day and success!

Hannah: I am sorry to hear about your friend.

It sounds like you have your head in the game and know what to do this time so do what works for you and I am sure it will all work out. I think all diets work but not all diets work for everyone and you have to find the plan that works for you.

Hi all! I'd like to join everybody on the still man diet. I've done this diet a few years ago to great success, but I obviously gained the weight back.

Just curious, does anyone exercise on this diet, and does it help much?

Any exercise is beneficial, just don't push yourself too hard whilst doing this diet as you'll potentially cause too much of a calorie deficit and burn muscle rather than fat, which means your body will go into starvation mode and then when you start eating again it'll pile back on as fat as your body will want to store it thinking it will go back into starvation mode again.

Just be sensible and listen to your body.

I just started a squat and push up challenge but other than that i don't exercise. It seems like lots of people who exercise don't lose as fast but I think it depends on the person. If you already excercise I wouldn't stop.

Hannah, so sorry to hear that. After recently losing my grandad I can relate to how you automatically go for food. Sounds like you're in a good place though. Don't put too much pressure on yourself and keep smiling.

So today I was in Asda and bought four packs of muffins because they were on offer, took them home and stared at them. Gave them to my family.

To cure my sweet tooth I made sugar free jelly with added vegetarian gelatin in little chocolate moulds, they were like haribo jellies

Staying strong and still on track!!

I have been no carbs everyday and I haven't lost any weight! Haven't gained either. I think I am maybe eating too much fat? I was still including it to keep myself on track and because I still had some stuff left from when I was trying Lchf to seeing I would still lose. So today I cut the fat and hopefully I will see a small loss tomorrow cuz it's weigh in day!

I really wanted a big loss but at this point I would happy to just have a slightly lower weight.

Stillman's Virgin !!!!

Hi all...hope no one minds me jumping in and joining you

About 3 weeks ago, a new doctor told me my thyroid antibodies were out of control, and the other thyroid numbers weren't looking too great either. She increased my synthroid, and added cytomel. She talked to me about leaky gut, and prescribed a gluten free, sugar free diet, free of processed foods.

I did well for the first two weeks, then succumbed to some pizza, and the demon coca cola

I'm ready to get serious again, and I feel that Stillman's is the no nonsense plan I need. No little cheats here and there that add up to big trouble. and no drowning the taste of broccoli with a quarter stick of butter !!!!

I have an important business trip coming up in June, and I want to look and feel my best, so here I am.

I have a few questions for those already on plan:

*The thought of such little fiber worries me. Is Benefiber OK ?

*Is sugar free jello really OK ?

*I've seen a few recipes with dehydrated minced onions....but I don't see those on any of the approved lists I've seen.

Any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated !!!

I am not sure about the benefiber but it probably is not allowed. I think stillman recommended that you take magnesium to "go".

Jello is allowed but like everything else depending on your body it may stall you or it may be fine. I can have some jello but if I over do it it will stall me.

I know a couple of the seasonings I use have dehydrated onion. I figure it's such a negligible amount that it's not really off plan.

I am down 2 lbs today! That makes me happy! Although it wish it was more, I will take the loss seeing I was at 185 until yesterday.

Hello...I'm back. Didn't feel right about posting since I was being bad and drinking beer. I really love my beer and all the vacations brought back the urges. Anyways last week I did a legit 4 day egg fast followed by a legit stillman day on Friday. Had to get my head back in the game. TOM starting today and my weigh in is 144 so I am pretty pleased. I am hoping egg fast reset my metabolism so now with clean stills eating I will start losing again. We will see next week. Man why can't I work beer into this eating plan? I'll eat super clean stills then a few days into it ...still cleans stills but beer in the evening. Messes me up so bad for the next few days. OK clean eating, no beer, back to the gym. I need to get to goal!
Welcome to all the new faces! This plan is great if you stick with it.
Daniel...great to see you back. You and me on the no drinks only stills challenge!
Kai..got the egg fast idea from you. I'm hoping it resets my metabolism like it did for you. I felt very weird on the egg fast. Like sluggish and headaches. I don't think I am in deep ketosis on Stllmans but that extra fat really drove ketosis. It was a good experience. I'm hoping to see a bigger loss once my friend TOM leaves.
Mim Looks like you're hanging in there and doing well. How do people do this plan for so long. Its super hard. It works so well but man hard to stick with.
Hello Mar You like da beer too? I'm with you. Its ok to have drinks but this plan really doesn't allow you to lose and have beer...sigh. I need to figure that one out. I like my beer.
Everyone have a great weekend! I'll be around for the weekend.

Howdy, friends! I have had such a busy Thurs, Friday and Saturday, I haven't been able to get to the computer! I took my granddaughter back Friday and came home Saturday. It was snowing so hard that I was in a white out for a bit. It was a long trip! My eating wasn't too bad, but it is hard to stay on plan when you are staying at someone's home!

I have had the whole weekend on plan and even ate out twice yesterday! I have a family dinner tonight with my BF's family and I am not sure what is being served, I really hope its something that I can stay on plan or at the very least stay low carb.

Here's to a week of good loses for everyone! I really want to make it into the 170's by the end of the month!

You are back on track and that's all that matters. After all life happens and there will be more dinners so all you can do is have fun and makeas good of choices as possible then get back on track. I have a feeling by the end of the month we'll both be jumping for joy in the 170s.
