I normally set goals but this month is almost half over and I have no clue what to expect since I'm restarting. I mean I'd love to drop 5, but I feel like I always overestimate my body's capability to drop the pounds. So I'm just going to see where I end up this month haha.i also have a 5k coming up in a couple weeks so I'm happy to be able to do it after being out of commission for quite awhile.

Kal , that's great ! Funny, I was just thinking about the month half way through, I get more motivated to reach my goal before the end of the month. I look through my previous posts and see where I mess up on which days a pattern lol , I make excuses to eat things off plan , that needs to stop.

The good news is I am not where I was on the scale when I started in June a few lbs less . That's why it is great when we get back on sooner than later

Still, I was initially upset about being so sick and having my gain, but I'm still way down from my highest weight so I am proud that I was able to gain less than i thought after several weeks....well couple months really off plan while sick. I am more proud of myself for getting better and getting on plan instead of spiraling out of control and gaining it all back. For me I see that as great although some people might think I should have somehow maintained but I've learned to celebrate the small things like a positive mindset. So yeah before getting sick I held steady at 188 so I'm 10 up but I have kept off 35 from my starting weight. I will get that 10 off plus more in due time.

Sometimes I feel like setting goals is setups myself up for failure. BecUsebif I don't reach my goal I get upset and stress eat. Do what works for you and it will all work out in the end.

Health first
Losing weight and being successful is nothing if you cannot enjoy it right ?

I'll probably set a goal next month but I feel like I don't know what to expect. Like I could say 5 by the 30th but I could lose 5 in a week at the beginning from water and then be complacent for the rest of the month or I could barely miss 5 as my body readjusts to this woe. So at the very beginning I just can't properly estimate or gauge my body's reaction until after a couple weeks.now if I could set a goal and automatically attain it every time in the time period that would be awesome...be like 30 pounds in a month bam haha.if only my body could do that, but it doesn't work like that....unforunately.so I'm stuck being realistic which means I have to wait and gauge progress to pick a realistic goal for next month. Shucks.

I think 1- 1.5/week next month should be doable for me. Hoping I can hit 2- 2.5/week but I didn't get those types of losses last time but a girl can dream. I had several months with 0 loss.hopefully stalling won't be in my near future.

Hi all I'm new here but not to low carbing. Usually I follow Atkins , I previously lost 40lbs Then I had my third child and put it all back on as the story goes. Going to follow Stillman's for as long as possible before switching back as I have only one pair of pants that fit left.
Yesterday I had mostly eggs and lean ham. Today I had 2 chicken breasts wrapped in ham and roasted with no oils. Have the yucky taste in my mouth meaning I'm in ketosis, wohhoo.
I look forward to 'meeting' you all xxx

Thanks Still
Scales stayed at 195lbs today but not surprised as my water intake yesterday wasn't up to par and I had salt on my chicken breasts.
Today's plan is 2x boiled eggs and some ham slices. The day before payday sucks Everyone else here is having homemade lamb burgers for dinner and I can only assume I can't have them on this plan.
The black coffees are taking a bit of getting used to, that's my only winge so far
Have a super Wednesday everyone x

I do eat higher fat cuts of meat and lose weight . I guess if you would like to try the lamb and see how you do . I eat rib eye and lose, however cheese stalls me

Happy Hump Day ! x

Day 3. Scale was up but I haven't been regular since restarting which finally changed. now if only I was at home so I could weigh in to get a more accurate number. Tummy isn't hurting and bloated now so it's a good feeling.

I have yet to decide cod or chicken today .
I am 153.2 lbs and on day 3 . I have sugar urges and that's all because of TOM . I wanted to make french toast

Instead I am having black coffee.

Chatting with a friend that asked why bother dieting now that summer is over and holidays approaching? I laughed and said after the holidays do I want to lose 5lbs or 20lbs or even more . I will have days in between celebrating that I will be back on plan. This is how I will do it again .

What is everyone's diet approach over the holiday season ?

In the past my scale would be forgotten till after New years . That's how I reached my highest weight of 197lbs. I am not making that mistake again . I would hide as long as I could under my long coat . Then during the warmer days in April leave the coat on but open . I need to remember these thoughts . I will keep coming here for support

I was down almost 3 lbs today!! So I am 2 lbs lower that my pre wine binge and .6 lbs from my first mini goal. Hopefully I hit it tomorrow!

Yesterday was chicken and a couple slices of cheese. Today I am trying a beef day hopefully I still lose in the higher fat meat. Having steak is usually fine but I have done an all beef day before.

My approach will be to up my fats. Stay away from carbs. Between the fats and protein I'll stay full and when I have fats my cravings drop.ill be working out a little longer (10- 15 minutes extra) on the day before, day of, and day after and making sure I get 10k steps in so I don't sit around all day. I wont do it all at once just like 15 minutes here and there throughout the day so I don't feel ravenous after and have all the unhealthy options around.

I used to do the same thing with my winter coat and jackets.i want this winter to be different so it looks like a big transformation when spring comes and the coat comes off showing off my new body. Winter lasts until March and coat season is fast approaching. I'm aiming to be a butterfly with my winter coat as my cocoon. So I know a big goal is to drop at least 30 by March 1st from where I'm currently at.

We can do it Mar! Got my workout planned for tonight and I'm currently meal prepping. Good thing about winter is I don't go out much due to the cold so already no alcohol temptation or bar food cravings so really that already makes it easier for me lol.

Hey Butterfly ladies

Kal , I am thinking of upping the fat it does keep me satiated too !
I did go shopping today I bought cocktail shrimp, strip steak, rib eye and more chicken & eggs . I was tempted to buy yoghurt. I will see how much I lose this week before adding dairy .

Kal , I love your approach and you lost a lot of weight and kept it off ( never returning to your highest weight )

I was struggling today ravenous appetite. I ate four hard boiled eggs .

Dinner is cod fish. I really miss my veggies .

Still, upping the fat is my go to plan anytime I know I'll have temptation or cravings. I start about 3-5 days beforehand slowly building it up because if I jump into it only the day of... well for me my cravings for the tempting foods don't subside enough because I haven't spent days feeling like I'm full so I cave more easily. Instead i can easily hit the same satiated feeling from the prior days and stop. If I do it only the day of yes I start to feel full but my eyes don't catch up to my stomach until I overdo it and I somehow think I have room for treats even though I should feel the full sensation. Guess you could say I need the extra days to learn my limit. Haha.

I will have cheese while I am still losing and my yogurt drink. If I stall the yogurt goes first then the cheese lol

I also allow myself one square of dark chocolate a day. I hadn't actually wanted one in a couple weeks though so I didn't have one until today then I had 2 but It seemed too sweet! Maybe my taste buds have reset after a couple weeks and I won't crave sweets as much, that would make things easier.

Today I had lots of beef, 2 cups of coffee, a yogurt drink and 2 squares of chocolate. I have turkey meatloaf for tomorrow and am going out for dinner but I know I will be getting chicken.

Hopefully I will be down a bit tomorrow and the beef and chocolate didn't stall me. I am experimenting with different meats this week it seems.
