Dinner tonight will be chicken and bacon with roasted veg.

That Cole Slaw was so good last night that I ate the whole small bowl I made. My weight showed it today.

Would love to do a Carly and not eat until dinner on DD but don't think I can do it nor go without eating like she does.

DD

1:30 1 Hebrew National FF Hot Dogs
........I'm going to try the cabbage cooked in chicken broth and bit of cheese I learned in one of the Stickies. I think calories should end up for both as 115 calories.

7:00 Same = 115 Calories

Total for Day: 230 Calories

May have bit of wine. Is helping me sleep. A miracle.

It took a few months before I could go all day and just eat at bedtime. Before that, I ate several ounces of celery with low cal dressing for dip at lunch and a mug of broth if needed.

My preference is to skip my bedtime snack, but some evenings I'm just too hungry to fall asleep with out about 200 calories, so it is what it is.

I used to eat quite a lot of cucumber salad a few years ago- especially in the summer. It's very refreshing. I've been hooked on the pickled lettuce now for a while.

ETA: Sorry Cindy- I know how you feel about cucumbers...

Yesterday was my first DD. I think I did really well. I had 392 calories.
2 Slimfast drinks, 1/2 tsp chia, and fat free chicken broth. 1 black coffee and lots of water.

Today is UD. This is what I have planned
Coffee with CREAM
Homemade chicken salad with 7 multigrain crackers
A piece of fruit
Then tonight totally enjoy a meal of fajitas cooked by DH. It will be beef and chicken with all the trimmings. And I plan to eat a tortilla havent had a tortilla in ages. I really want a low carb beer but will try to resist.
If I can eat like this on UD then I can totally handle the down days. Im so curious to see if this will work for me.

Farmwife...Like your DD food plan you did. I sent my daughter Dr. Johnson's book for her birthday and she loved it starting the plan immediately. She's doing great and also does the 2 SlimFast drinks. I never went that route because although I love SlimFast, it doesn't last very long before hunger hits and doesn't go away.

But I see you use chia in fat free chicken broth. I read about chia, but haven't tried it. Might give it a try if I can find it. Where is it in the grocery store?

UD

A rare day where I don't have a specific plan because I'm going to cook a turkey roast which will last me the rest of the week. So I don't want to fix something involved for lunch (tuna/egg salad, or open refried beans for bean dip) since lunch will be turkey sandwiches the rest of the week.

Breakfast: Usual for UDs, 1 fried egg, 2 toast, Coffee

Lunch??? Need calories since Turkey not high calorie.

Dinner: Turkey Roast, maybe baked potato, salad

My daughter decided to go on plan with me today. I know it will be good for both of us. She only needs to lose about 20 pounds. I need to lose a lot.
I purchased a big bag of organic chia seeds at my local WalMart. The brand is Carrington Farms, 14 oz bag, was around $7. I used the chia seeds in the shake. I didnt think a shake would hold me long enough so i put it in the blender with about 8 ice cubes, 1/4 tsp chia, and 1/4 tsp xanthum (sp?) gum . The consistency was about like a Wendy's Frosty. But now that you've mentioned it Im going to try chia seeds in chicken broth.
In my store it is located on the same aisle as the Truvia, splenda, coconut flour, almond flour.
Hope you are able to find some the chia really helps me with appetite control and ummm......bathroom visits.

Farmwife...Wow! You are creative! Your shake sounds soooo good! Thanks for answering my question and for the directions on how you make your shake. I'll try it when I make it to the store and can get the chia and the xanthum gum.

Thanks again.

Is this a DD? Sounds like a fabulous meal plan whether UD or DD.

It's worked for a lot of us, so I think it will work for you as well! If you generally keep your UD/ DD calories in line there is no reason it shouldn't work.

D: Ham & cheese

approx 490 kcals

During the week i tried a really low DD 235kcals which was fine and i didn't really feel hungry. The problem came the next day when i had lunch (i rarely eat breakfast). Ooh dear my tummy rebelled in a very bad way.... Think i might stick to 500kcal DDs even if it means slower weight loss

UD

Breakfast: Coffee with cream and truvia, small cinnamon roll, homemade chicken salad in 1/2 of Joseph's lavash

Lunch: at Waffle House, western omelet, hashbrown, 1 slice toast, 1/2 waffle with syrup, diet coke I left food on my plate because I just didnt want it. I NEVER leave food at a restaurant. I eats it all my precious! But I was like nah, Im done.

Supper: finished the chicken salad with 7 multi grain crackers and a chocolate chip cookie
Snack: Slim Fast caramel latte I have no idea why but I wanted a Slim Fast???

I truly thought I would eat like theres no tomorrow on an UD but so far that has not happened. I really thought Id want and eat 2 or 3 cinnamon rolls, multiple cookies, all my waffle house food. Maybe I dont feel compelled to stuff because day after tomorrow is another up day, or maybe the down day is changing my appetite?
But I like it.

Yea, it's very weird that no matter how peckish I feel when I go to bed on a DD I never ever feel hungry when I get up on an UD - in fact usually the thought of food until around lunchtime makes me feel a bit queasy...

UD for me today

L: Homemade kefir made into a smoothie with blueberries and a little honey
D: Roast chicken with vegetables
Snack: Bulletproof coffee

1615kcals approx

Not sure what I'm going to eat today as depends on what time my Protein is delivered. If by 1:30PM I'll have a smoothie: SlimFast, Protein powder, strawberries. Otherwise 1/2 Turkey sandwich, 4 torrilla chips, diet pepsi.

Dinner 7:30PM depends on lunch. HoHo

Not posting regularly since so much logging for me. I track on a memo pad, then notebook for complete meal with calories, and another memo pad tracking my exercising. Then I come on here and repeat. Enough!

Did want to mention to Farmwife that I found chia seeds, but didn't buy because of the fiber. My bod does NOT take to fiber.

Carly, so far haven't found the pot pie you mentioned, but might be at Safeway next time I go.

Just wanted the two of you to know that because if I ask questions, I'm NOT ignoring your answers.

DD- hopefully just coffee w/ powdered creamer, diet soda, crystal lite/ water.

If need be around 9pm I'll have:

Grilled Zucchini if I have time to grill between getting home from work and going out or Green Giant Cauli in Cheese Sauce.

I think the possibility of falling asleep with out needing anything is good. That's what happened on the last 2 DDs.

Going to get some chia seeds for the very reason you mention. First time in my life I need fiber. I think it's the extra protein causing issues. ???

A magnesium supplement can help as well.

Sharon, DH calls it the UD/DD effect - he was complaining of it this morning

DD food today is Homemade kefir, made into a smoothie with blueberries and strawberries - didn't feel hungry all day. Ate (well, drank) at 5.30pm

Head hunger this evening though, but can't say i'm actually hungry. Might be the effect of having had something sweet - i'm feeling like something savoury now - DH had bacon and eggs for his DD meal and the smell of the bacon cooking started my taste buds going - I just keep telling myself "tomorrow!"

Carly, thanks for the reminder. I'm out of magnesium and had put it out of mind too. I put it on my grocery list before I forget again.

FairyWren, I didn't have a clue what Kefir was so had to do a Search and learn. Am going to check it out when I go shopping next although presently have lots of SlimFast on hand. I know I'll never drink goat's milk, but it looks like it's made from different sources. Looks healthly and doesn't hurt to check it out.

SlowSure is another one who eats things I never heard of. I saw Carly seemed familiar with her eating plan foods, so it's just me.

I love kefir (yes, it's fermented milk a little like yoghurt) and I make it from organic whole (cow's) milk, I bought the kefir grains on ebay that I use as a starter. There is a great website all about it just google "Dom's all about kefir website" - he's a guy in Australia who is the font of all knowledge on the subject.

Haha maybe it's because we're in the UK and there's sometimes a bit of a transatlantic language barrier thing going on... Like today i'm having courgette at lunchtime and you call it zucchini

So, UD today

Lunch: Courgette fried in a little butter then add a little passatta, sprinkle with grated cheese (i was craving this yesterday on my DD!). I bought a spiraliser so i'm going to try it out on the courgette to make courgetti

Dinner: Curried minced beef and vegetables (+ glass of wine maybe)

Snack: homemade kefir made into smoothie with strawberries

Should be approx 1700 kcals
