Happy new year!

We’re still at my parents’ — going home tomorrow. Thanks to norovirus, I may get home weighing less than when we left.

Sorry to read that Ailuros, not a good start to the year.

I am weighing in above and below 120 at present. Astonishing.

Oh no poor you ailuros, lots of people seem to have had bugs. I seem to have avoided them this year probably cos I was hardly out due to the op

Well done kissa, I haven't weighed yet!!!

My mother always invites everyone she knows to come round on Christmas Eve — and one of them brought bugs with them.

I had my first weigh in of the year this morning (we got home yesterday). 121.6. Higher than I like, but 3 lb less than before we went away. Now on to dealing with the rest of the excess… (preferably without the assistance of nasty viruses).

Hi All!

Happy New Year!!!!

I am like Ailuros recovering from norovirus, and to top it off I have a sinus infection. Joy!

BF was ill over Christmas, so we didn't go to Holland as planned. Very disappointing. I was ill over the year change, so that was just as much fun. Today is the first day that I am actually feeling ok-ish in a week.

Got a pot of beef bone broth and chicken broth on the go. Got to kick this virus out the door!

Will check in again when I feel like a proper human being again!

xxx

Norovirus has laid waste to many people this season - that and colds that are lingering with their after-effects for weeks.

Me - I welcome this cold spell, the first decent chance of killing off garden pests in years.

I still donít feel right. I hope it goes away soon. Someone who came round to my parentsí had been planning not to come, because they were ill, but then felt better and decided to come. At least half the people who were there ended up ill. Why canít people keep their germs at home?

Mimosa, hope you feel better soon too.

We are all still fighting our coughs and colds that have been with us since before Christmas. Poor DH has a brand new one.

Vicky and her DH leave on Saturday, overnighting at the airport, so we will go there for dinner with them tomorrow night. It has been wonderful having her here, sometimes not recognising her in the distance because she is so much slimmer.

As you know, the coughs are lasting 3-4 weeks for people and it's horribly tiring for them as it's interfering with their sleep and holding back their recuperation.

Let's just say that travelling in London was tricky today and the pavements were crowded - but at least it wasn't with shoppers wrangling lots of bags.

We traveled down to Devon today. Happy to leave London and the south to its transport problems behind.

Hopefully I will feel up to a Zumba class in the morning. It's been a month!

Yes, take care, Kissa. My niece works at a care home, and apparently all but four of the residents are ill and ten out of the fifteen staff are off sick. She usually runs the entertainment and social side, but is working as a carer at the moment because they’re so desperate.

I’m doing better, thanks, Shy. I think the norovirus isn’t lingering as much as the other one.

I have decided against the gym. Seems unkind to my body and also to any few well people who might be there. I am still coughing for England.

I am going to have a facial later though!

118.8 on the dreaded Devon scales, it's like a miracle!

Trust everyone is getting over their lurgies

Had my first weigh in since before the op and I am 2lbs down which I am very pleased with considering we have had Xmas and I haven't been able to go to the gym

That is wonderful shy. You must be thrilled.

I went to my Body Combat class this morning but took it easy, so there was no real pleasure in it. I like to be bouncing through my classes, but no way I was up to that.

My hands are having what feels like a nasty flare at present but I hope it's transitory.

Nonetheless, I've been thinking about it for a while but it's past time for me to bid farewell to my long hair that I just haven't been able to maintain.

I haven't been to a hairdresser since my last one retired (and it shows) but he was the only one who would let me have a wet cut. I can't lean my head back much because of the scoliosis and I'm not particularly good leaning forward over a shampoo sink as it's a very odd angle.

Visiting a hairdresser takes much girding of the loins and I don't even know how to go about locating one who can observe all of my little anomalies. Pah! Yes, a First World Problem.

Know what u mean kissa I struggled at the gym after a 7 week absence was no bouncing!! Hopefully we will be fully back to it soon

Slow I sympathise with you with hairdressers as I also can't lean back etc. I have someone come to my house now either I wash and he cuts or he will just spray it and do a wet cut. Much easier

Down and not up is good, Shy!

Iím over the lurgy, but my backís being iffy now. Not extreme pain or anything, just a bit achy and enough to make bending & lifting awkward.

Iím down a pound or so since we got home, and lost about three pounds over Christmas with the help of the nasty bugs.

Well done shy, not easy in this bitterly cold weather.

Delighted to read this Vicky, especially as I know you have houseguests.

I am still struggling with this cold. Sometimes I am ravenous, other times nauseous, no rhyme nor reason to it.
