Good morning!! So nice to wake up to a pot full of chicken. lol I'm sure hubby appreciated the whiff from the slow cooker permeating the house when he got up early for work. Lolol

I'm down 2, so for anyone out there that isn't seeing movement on the scale... be patient, it will come .

Those inches off results were when I had gained back some pounds on plant based and I got real strict with again. I was mainly eating vegetables, all kinds, just no corn or potatoes. I would use sauerkraut and rotel and salsa as my condiments, as well as deli mustard. I was eating a lot of broccoli, carrots, green beans, zucchini. I don't think peas either at that time. Inches off worked great for me, but did not give me the appetite suppressant that QWL does. Also, I was able to eat a sweet potato or few red potatoes to maintain, it's only when I add rice and beans , and wraps that I packed on the pounds. Yikes. The good stuff!! lol

I'm gearing up to start again... Only this time with exercise included!!!

Hoping to get to the movies today! Perhaps I'll sneak in a few slo ro baggies. Lolololol

All variations of Stillmans welcome here honeypie! We're happy you got your groove back! Use those tweaks to your advantage. I believe MAR and makeme have used yogurt instead of cottage cheese. Hopefully they'll check in soon to report. we also had another friend that used protein shakes for meal replacements. If you arent seeing the results you've had in the past, then tweak some more!! I promise we won't ban you for your jalapeño. Lol Hugs!!

Thank Al!

I know you're the absolute best and knew you were going to say that. I basically wanted to be polite and honest with my tweaks up front. I know what I just said is totally different to this - but do you remember before you came back for your original QWL SHOWDOWN, there was this poster that had kind of taken it upon herself to be the leader of these Stillman's threads at the time, and she was REALLY bossy, AND, she kept coming in here, literally EVERY SINGLE DAY, for MONTHS on end (if not even longer) to report on a DAILY basis how she had NOT stuck to a Stillman's plan AT ALL... or even to ANY kind of general LC, for that matter?? Omg. It was really crazy, and I will never forget that.

Because there is literally NOWHERE else it is possible to go on the entire interwebs for Stillman's support, so I was like, trying to post here for over 6 months, and it was just impossible because it was SO disheartening trying to stick to Stillmans, which is already really brutal, while this OP was like, "Damn. I ate 3 breakfast cereal bars with sugar AND a whole cinnabon today. Oh well. Gonna try for plain chicken again tomorrow." LOLOL!!!! I mean, I nearly LOST MAH MIND!!!!

Anyway, I think you would probably have some recollection of that, and of what a mess the ongoing Stillman's threads were at the time because of that person, because people had tried to stand up to her before but she was having none of it... so people stayed away, and she was just happily continuing posting away alone on the Stillman's threads, about what Chinese food she had just ordered for lunch or whatever... I mean it was truly nuts.

And then YOU came , and you freaking CLEANED HOUSE with her... and that was UH-MAZING. LOLOL!!! And so I know it wasn't just me, who was so thankful and finally able to come back here.

So in other words; I am super aware that there is a line for tweaking, and while I know protein powder and chopped up jalapeño don't cross it... I know people in general, need to be really sensitive here about what kind of personal tweaks they're making, or about how many days they're reporting having consecutively blown it or whatever, when in years past, some of those people were literally just not even trying to stay on plan

In other news though!! Haha! I just wanted to say that I am SO EXCITED that you are also back here right now, that I could literally BURST.

How much are you looking to lose this time btw, Al? Because me, I am unfortunately gonna have to be around for a loooooooooooooong time, this time!

Honeypie! HP, for short!

LOL! What a NIGHTMARE that would have been. Maybe that poster was being silly and really not even on any diet. How annoying, though. I'm sure, Al merely LOVED her off the site. AHAHAHHAHA. U go, AL.

As per the yogurt, go for it. I lost 30 lbs my first Stillies go around and ate Trader Joes Greek Yogurt with SF jello power almost every night. I only had .5 of a cup. WTG on 7 lbs your first week. I bet you feel amazing!

LOL!! Thanks B Sugar Free... but you got WAY too excited for me. It was only 0.7 lb... as in, not even one pound! But that's just because I wanted to pick July 1st as a reference point for my starting date. I don't think those days were fat free, or strictly Stillmans. VLC for sure, but not like this.

That is exciting that you lost 30 lbs eating Trader Joe's 0% fat greek. That is definitely the stuff that I've found that has the absolute best macros also. How long did it take you on that round, with the yogurt, to drop that 30 lbs?

And do you feel like now that you don't eat it, like the scale is going down any faster?

I am eating way more than half a cup. BUT, it is keeping me at like 1000 kcal, and with everything else 0 carb, I am hoping that that will be enough to give my body a shock, and a downward boost. If not, I will eventually dial it down to a smaller amount too. But right now, I am having 1 cup, 2 x a day. That is only like 250 kcal in yogurt. All fresh cooked protein, all the way after that.

I am hoping sooooo much, that this keeps working, like this! Because that would be AMAZING!

Wow. I have no idea about this at all. Maybe the lack of carbs and fat blocked it from my memory. Huh. I surely don't think I would've sent anyone away. I couldn't have done it all these years without my peeps. Circa 2009, baby, lol

All I can do is post my results to encourage others to get to their goal weight the quickest way possible. This is an insanely strict diet, and I think a lot of times it does set people up for failure. A few days of deprivation and once you get a taste of something else it's hard to stop. (For me it's let's get another week of eating whatever I want cause I know QWL will fix it!!). However, posting a bunch of cheats day in and day out could be hard on people that are on a slippery Stillmans slope and struggling to stay on. That's why I stay away when my plans change. No one needs to hear about my unmentionables, but I do need this board And all of you in my life. Maintenance is tough. Xoxo

I'm one pound away from 25. I can go another 5 for wiggle room but my main goal is plant based... so inches off it will be.

I survived the movie and the two jumbo popcorn buckets my kids got. I snuck in my peach zero calorie Clearwater and I was good to go. Cars 3 was really good for those with little ones. I loved it, I cried and I cheered, and yes, my kids made fun of me. lolololol

That's awesome, Al! So excited for you! How long have you been on this time, to drop the 24 lbs so far?

I have literally been on <20g carbs a day for 3 MONTHS. Today is my 3 month anniversary. And I am 5ft 11 and I have dropped a measly 20 lbs. On the nose. And that is with NEVER cheating off that plan.

I can't wait to be like you, and to catch up here. This is the ONLY place to get results!

And I know that COMPLETING nixing alcohol, is going to make a BIG diff to my results. I just know it, - even though it was already only like 2x per month.

I am excited, you guys! Excited to finally start GETTING somewhere now!

I know you're serious girl. Looking forward to watching you shrink!!! Get on the slo ro wagon ASAP.. lol. Right, B?!?!?

Wow, 25 lbs in 5 weeks SO AMAZING, Al! You must feel like a MILLION BUCKS!

I would also be over the moon if I could replicate my previous Stillmans' average results of 15 -18 lbs per month, but with the inclusion of the nonfat greek yogurt this time

So what do you want to use your insta-pot for, Al? I bought one by CuisinArt, I think it was, last winter. But then I used it twice and returned it. lol.

Do you want to use for mostly plant based dishes?? If so, like what, for example?

Also, just another question re when you transition back to more plant based eating... are you very health conscious? Or do you also allow sweets and desserts and things like that? Or bread?? How do you manage it all?

I was a vegetarian for like WAY more than 10 years in my youth, and being that I've not kept this weight off, I really need to think long and hard about what my true long-term maintenance plan is going to be this time.

Oh, on a positive note - the only good thing that I WAS able to accomplish this year, is that I FINALLY was able to quit smoking!!!! And I have just passed my first 1 year anniversary!! This was a REALLY big deal to me, because I literally got to the point where I thought I would never be able to quit. So, there's that. That's when all my weight piled on in the 6 months after that tho! Pfffft!

Anyway, I am going back DOWN again, and this time, I am STAYING there!

Wow Honeypie!!! You are amazing! Celebrating so many milestones in our little group here!! So happy for you that you were able to quit! Hoping you reach 20lbs down by the end of the month!! I'm sure there were many other accomplishments you've made, and the best one of all will be getting to your goal weight this year! it WILL be done!!Xoxo

Hmmm. Diets, maintenance, WOEs...One would say I don't manage it at all!! or else QWL would be a thing of the past! I believe the doc when he says we need to count calories for maintenance. Sad but true. On a positive note, the more we exercise the more we get to eat!!

I'll be attempting to make everything in the instantpot. Chili, veggie or meat stews, rice, beans, meats, veggies, one pot pastas, Even yogurt!! And I may have to do BBQ ribs before I go on plants!! I have heavy duty meat eaters and carb eaters in my family, but they could use a lot more veggies so I'm hoping to please everyone and hopefully get out some quick healthy dinners without all the mess. I'm one of those short order cook moms. What can I say, I like to please! Good thing I like to experiment with different recipes. I make desserts but if they are too healthy no one wants them, and I hate to waste! Lol So sometimes I can get in trouble. I always plan to be healthy, but I'm not perfect. My real problem is huge helpings of yummy stuff (even is it's good quality healthy stuff) and lack of exercise. I plan on eating bread (homemade) again too! As long as I get in some miles on the treadmill!!

I love you guys but I hate typing on this phone. lol. Hope everyone has a great night with lots of quality sleep!! "Meat Dreams!!"

I finished the day today on 1000 kcal and 150g protein. I am happy with that for today. I doubt I will see a loss tomorrow, because I literally have just lost 5 lbs in the last 8 days, so I am due for a slow-down. But I will try to not whine about it, haha! And hoping everyone else had a great on-plan day today too!

Hello gals!!!!

It was such fun reading all of your posts from yesterday. This board is so great and supportive. One of the issues I've had in the past is that I try to get involved and it falls flat, or it's cliquey, and I can't break in. Same story of my life!!! I love how all of you offer this amazing support to each other and it feels REALLY GENUINE!! I am so happy to be part of it. I am not on FB and have not been for going on 2 years... part of that was all the drama with family members and such and also people who like to make comments about addicts and the population I serve in general.. I'd get so hot headed and invest all this time and energy posting responses and such, it was taking up all my mental space. FB has been an entry point for bad stuff in the past. I've tried to structure it in a way so that it does not cause problems in my life but that hasn't worked.

Sooo I was off social media for some time when I found this board. I guess I still need some online social interaction and I appreciate it when it's not guys from my past coming out of the woodwork! LOL

B, I love school too... however I've accumulated a massive amount of student loan debt so my education these days is reading research papers on my own and attending CEU events. I finished grad school in 2011 and I had wanted to go into cardiac rehab. My sister in law works at Mayo in Rochester as a nurse practioner.. we are only about 45 mins north of there. However, God had other plans for me I believe to take information I learned in grad school about biochemistry, nutrition, exercise, brain chemistry, etc. to recovering people. And you're right, many of them are MASSIVE sugar addicts. They complain of anxiety and then sit there eating Skittles and chugging a Mountain Dew. We have a dietician who works with our program too and does additional education around caffeine, sugar, neurotransmitters, and the like. Since my program is already heavy in that area I was nervous about incorporating her at first. You all know many dieticians can be very 'old school' but she is good and let's face it the clients like to see someone OTHER than me from time to time. I appreciate that she is very collaborative with people and tries to keep up on new research in the field. I try my best to get the treatment folks off sugar or to at least reduce it... it is such a relapse trigger, but for many of them it's the lesser of the evils for the time being.

Honeypie, I can't believe that experience you had with that other person who has 'running' the board! Unbelievable! I too get frustrated when it seems people are constantly falling away from their plan.. yeah I know it's hard and sometimes slips happen, but what you are describing is ridiculous. The yo-yo has got to stop and that's what I love so much about Stillman's, IT WORKS! I can't believe it really, really works!! Congrats on getting back into losing and I know what you mean about being so excited about it because you've made the commitment and gotten intentional. It's like the universe moves when we do that. I feel I have hope again too because I was getting so discouraged with gaining and losing the same 5-7 lbs over and over.

Al, congrats on your win at the movies.. we want to see Cars 3 too, maybe this weekend. There's a drive-in theater about 15 mins from here that's showing it. My 9 year old isn't that interested but the younger one really wants to see it. I haven't been to the drive-in for ages.. I think it would be really fun! Oh, and your results are so amazing, you're at my dream weight. I stopped at 130 a while back thinking I could not get to 120 because my body just continually fought me, but now I believe it's truly possible!!

I am 128.4 today, lost .4 yesterday.. so happy!! My DD9 went to an amusement park with a friend so we took our younger daughter to the park and afterwards DH wanted to go to Dairy Queen. I sat there and ate nothing while they had cones but it was not too bad. Today is day 9 of following Stillman's to the best of my ability and I don't want to screw up now!! I get that way when I'm having a streak and it helps motivate me. I've got a Guns N Roses concert to attend!! LOL

OH! And I have to add I did the yogurt mixed with protein powder last night and it was AWESOME! I haven't had yogurt in the past 9 days and I know I need to be careful with it because I can get out of control with it, but I only allowed myself one and I stayed full for several hours. I still lost too so that is wonderful. It felt like a 'treat'. Thanks for the tip Honeypie!

Fantastic!!! 8 pounds you will never have again!! Don't slow down! Think positive! If Stills says 5 pounds a week, we say it!! It can be done! How are you feeling after the 8 days? Still have an appetite? If you're not whining, I won't either. My scale was up 2. ?????? Hmmmm. Oh well. My chicken came out kinda salty yesterday. I used Lawrys seasoning salt and fajita seasoning. I didn't need any condiments but maybe all that salt is BAD.

We are on plan if you are!! Deal!!

DL- I bet that yogurt was a treat and you deserved it from the toture you endured at Dairy Queen lol. You guys can put that in the freezer too for 25 minutes then process it for an even more ice cream like treat.

I think you're missing out a smidgen on not havin FB. You can create a separate undercover account or unfollow everyone you know, that way you can still be a part of the groups of news or updates you're interested in. My favorite pastime is cooking videoes and kids arts and crafts. I get lots and lots of ideas and material to read and watch. Really anything your heart desires. Dogs, exotic islands,, Channing Tatum. all at the tip of our thumb! lol. The downside is the time wasted you will spend reading unevessary articles or drooling over s dish you're not supposed to eat! lolol.

Actually.. it's FBs fault I got the instantpot. I stumbled upon a group one day then joined all of them!! They have regular food ones and vegan ones.. so the recipes and pics are always popping in on my feed. When I opened the app the other day, the post for the pot being on sale came up and I didn't think twice!

MIM!! Hope you are enjoying Italy. Looking forward to hearing all about it!! we will have to get through this instantpot thing together. Do come back quick!! Looks like there is a lot of math and science involved. Lolololol I'll be printing out lots of cheat sheets!!

Hi everyone! Melissa aka DL suggested I come over here and join you guys!

I will admit to first starting out more dukanish as I eat the galette pancakey thing, modified to my own recipe adding more fat free yogurt than oatbran, but anyway after 7 days I lost 4.6 pounds but stayed the same the for two days and then was up .2 today. I was like WTH this morning and then remembered I also had a couple of bites of sugar free enlightened ice cream after dinner as well! All that to say I am getting sloppy and need to be more strict for a while! I do buy the fat free greek yogurts and add a small amount of protein powder and a squirt of S/f strawberry liquid drops. I love the idea of freezing it bit.

Anyway, I will need to read and learn more here and hope to be able to follow stillmans as well as all of you do and get the same awesome results

Jeanie! So glad you came over. It's easy for me to get sloppy too. I'm glad these ladies are on top of the slippery slope lol. I'm so happy that you're doing something that's helping and that you have hope again!

Wow!! Great morning posts, ladies!! I LOVE waking up and coming in here, when things are like this! It is truly motivating to feel like there is like-minded support for the plan, that much is for sure! I have been like a 10-yr member of another LC forum that-shall-not-be-named, where I also keep my journal. And I have to say, it is really depressing to me the exact cliquey-ness that you also describe having come across in life, deanslist. I have always been really supportive of ANYONE who needed it, and literally the people are so ******, and so intent on actively spreading rumors, that after 10 years there, I literally have ONE person that I know from there, who even acknowledges my existence. And maybe like 3 stragglers who are just new to the site, and commenting any old where. But yeah, literally ONE person. And so I do NOT feel supported, at all. Nevermind if I were to also dare mention anything even vaguely about trying lower fat, - I think I would probably be burned at the stake.

I have found it really difficult, because I too, on occasions past, did not find this board was active enough for me, no matter how much I also contributed in return. I mean, it is REALLY quiet, when you're not here, Al! Which is also why it's soooooo great to get to chat to you, when you are!

Back on food though - it is so exciting though that you also loved the yogurt/protein powder combo, deanslist!! I also only invented it for the first time like a week ago, when I was trying to concoct a healthier sub for the protein pudding I was buying - because that stuff was full of soy, so I wanted to get off of it as soon as I bought it and read the ingredient panel.

But I normally never even ATE greek yogurt before! Of ANY kind! Because it is gross!

I have grown up my whole life on European style very thin yogurt, so greek yogurt that is like eating concrete, oops, I mean like eating sour cream ... was definitely always gross to me on all levels. But with the protein powder??? OMG. Can you say, GAME CHANGER!!!!

So I had recently just bought a big tub of banana cream flavored Quest brand protein powder from Netrition, even though I normally do NOT eat ANY sucralose. And it was so AMAZING in the yogurt, that I literally lost my mind and I just ordered EVERY single other flavor! LOLOL!!!

I also was expecting to not lose today, because I said I had just lost 5 pounds in the last 8 days. That was not on Stillmans, just normal VLC. BUT I LOST ANOTHER WHOLE TWO POUNDS BY TODAY!!!

I have literally only lost 20 lbs in the last THREE MONTHS, so the fact that I have lost half of that in the last ten days makes me EXCITED - because maybe my body is FINALLY ready to believe me, that I am SERIOUS about going back down again.

Last year was a really hard year for me, and yes, I made some terrible health choices, and I literally blew up from Sept - April like you wouldn't even BELIEVE.... but I am ready to go back down, and to NEVER be overweight like this, ever again.

So MIM is in Italy, Al??? COME BACK, MIM!!! I want to hear ALLLL about it! I used to live in Italy, so,.... photos, please! And a FULL rundown of your ENTIRE beautiful trip, when you get back!

Italy is surprisingly VERY easy to stay LC in, but I realize that may not be MIM's plan. Either way, I am dying to hear about your trip when you get back, MIM!

As for education! I am totally with you guys too! I am as we speak in the process of completing my THIRD Master's degree right now!! Not even kidding.

I have not had an easy or straightforward career trajectory at ANY point whatsoever until now, and my thinking is, that SOMEONE is going to appreciate these hard-fought-for qualifications, in the near future.

So; my plan is that I am totally going to include the non-fat farmer's cheese into this plan, as soon as I get to the European supermarket in my area that has a HUGE selection of it. Except who knows when the heck that is going to be, that literally might not be for weeks.

But my mom was actually ALWAYS saying to me when I was on Atkins, why don't you just eat farmer's cheese instead? It's so much healthier for you, it's SO much more natural and unprocessed than all of the other varieties of cheeses, and you grew up eating it your whole life, AND you were thin!

And I'd be like, NO.

AL U crack me up! "WHERE GOAL DREAMS COME TRUE!" and "MEAT DREAMS!" lolol U rock, gurlie. SO, here's the dealio with with some of those spices, THEY HAVE SUGAR AND RICE POWERED, CRAP FILLERS! Makes me so cra cra. I made an entire pot of SLOW RO "Ro, Ro, Ro your boat, gently down the the skinny stream..." Anywho, I made an entire pot of Slow Ro and used this delish new spice from TJ's Chili Lime. Well, I didn't look closely at the ingredients and it too had RICE FREAKIN POWDER IN IT! I had to give the entire pot to the family. All was G bc I didn't have to cook for a few days. So win, win... BUT! And, I gained a lb too. When I gain on this diet, I FLIP! I go scowering through my food to find the culprit. AND THEN I KILL IT! hahaha Ur gain ins only silly water. It will be gone in a day or 2 and then take a few of his nasty friends with him...

Oy! You all have been chatty. So sorry for mostly lurking. I seem to be going through my "quite time" where I just sort of float through my days. Our days are so full of busy it is hard to sit at the computer and focus on anything. It should slow down after today.!

I have been on plan all week and have lost 3.4lbs since Monday. Not great but I have figured out all my hormone problems have been me starting to go through menopause. I feel old just typing that out...

honeypie, congrats on the 8 pounds and the 1yr anniversary of quitting smoking. NOT easy! The hubby and I quit about 10 years ago and I do not miss it. It took about 6 months to feel normal. It was the hardest 6 months of our marriage. We were a bit edgy.

Al, as always you are doing amazing!

I need to read back and see what all the Slow Ro is about. I feel left out now. I have a slow cooker I use a lot but havent jumped on the IP yet.

JEANIEM! Any buddy of DL's is a buddy of ours! Honestly, I think Dukan, WHO TOTALLY RIPPED OFF STILLMANS DOWN TO EVERY WORD, put this Oat Fiber noise in his diet merely to not get sued. He's such a fraud. It makes me so angry. "I came up with this diet due to an OVER WT. PATIENT WHOM I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO TREAT HIM, A WEEK LATER, BAMB HE LOST 10 LBS!!!" Word for word Stillmans. ARGH! Anyway. You can have the same "bulking effect" and elimination properties using 3 T of syllium husks and water, and with NO CARBS AT ALL! SO THERE DUKAN! Nonetheless, welcome aboard. Resist having a bit here and a bit there of ANYTHING. This diet works on a biochemical level and the body don't lie. You cannot squeeze diddilie into this plan as our hormones and such will go to work and thwart all your efforts as it will now have to catabolize the glucose and stop the fat burning instantly. NOT WORTH IT! Stay laser focused. U can do it!

DL! How awesome that you brought buddies to join the fun. So happy you did!
YIPPY ON THE 128.4 U GO GURL! Praise God for this marvelous feat. YES, Stills works and it's a miracle way of eating for we peeps who have tried everything. As per you FB drama, I understand. But, like AL said, they have a feature where you can actually BLOCK people without them even knowing it. Do a google and see how to do that. I too do not use FB but for an Evangelistic Tool. It's such a waist of time, at times. And, it get's a bit annoying seeing all these FAKE HAPPY POSTS! My daughter calls it FAKEBOOK. But, with anything in life, you can use it for good or evil...

KUTGW! You are knocking on goals door post and will rush into the goal line in no time flat.

AMY!

How are you doing missy? How'z work going. Do people look at u like uv lost your mind at work when you eat your 3 eggs and ckn? Watch, once you've lost 20 plus they will be lining up to get the skinny on how you did it. Boy, is it a bit difficult getting back into the swing of NS again. Those 2 weeks off really helped me RELAX, but now I'm dragging myself to get back into the swing of things. I need a swift kick in the GLUTEUS, maximus and minimus, both!

SO!!!

I haven't weighed in 3 days. I needed to chill a sec on the scale. I'm eating the same thangs, feeling AMAZING, alert and much energy. The bloat is way down and I FEEL THIN! The scale is a liar anyway so he can just sit there all alone until he learns how to play nicely. I'm glad I can take my mind OFF MY WEIGHT and focus on school instead. Boy, how obsessed one can get with a number when we are dieting. It's cra, cra is say, say... Why are we not this crazy when we are bellying up to a bowl of Doritos or a big fat cheese burger? Oh, the whiles of our psyche. Now, that's another thread/site all together.

On ward and up ward!

Have a wonderful day, ladies.

Praying for you all!
