I have lost nothing since yesterday, but I am 100% ALL THE WAY committed to plan today, and every day. No losses are NO reason to be discouraged. It is temporary water filling our fat cells where the fat has MELTED OUT already. The number on the scale will follow - either the next day, or SOON!

If you 100% stick to the plan as it is written, this plan takes you as far as you want to go.

There is no such thing as it "stopping working". This is what I remind myself to keep myself motivated when the scale doesn't move.

If anyone is bored with food, switch it up! Seafood! Egg drop soup! Non-fat dairy! Grilled pork chops, just don't eat all of the fat, etc etc.

There is a whole WORLD of Stillman's approved food out there. Everyone have a great day! I am super swamped today, but will try and come back again later!

I am sticking with this until New Year's Eve, btw. With NO CHEATS!!!!

So ANY ONE OF US, can do it for one single day. Just no cheats, just for today, right now!!

Helloooooo!! Love the pep, love the energy here!!!! No turning back now! Goal weights are right around the corner!!!! No cheats over my way except for CORNSTARCH!!

Honeypies right, switch it up! Exhaust every Stillmans protein option before even thinking about jumping ship!!!

So today is my weigh-in day and I recovered from the faulty scale. Replaced the batteries and all is well. Im down 3 for this week. Perhaps I couldve done better minus the cornstarch.. but 3 is still pretty exciting!!!

We had one friend AKAGAL that used the recipes in the book all the time. She lost crazy weight and looked amazing. No boring chicken breast for her!! When times get tough, check the recipes out!! But stay away from the bacon one.. that was an ooops!!

I dropped .6 after hovering around the same weight for days, hopefully the loss sticks.

I rarely eat the chix breast either, usually just roast up a big ole pan of skinless, boneless thighs with the mccormick rotisserie seasoning

Honeypie- I posted in your weigh in thread.

Hope everyone has a great day
Thank you!! I did!! and congrats to you for gettin that darn scale to move!

Isnt the rotisserie seasoning the best. Do not even look at the back and tell me I cant have it. lol

B, love how you say YIPPY. Just makes me laugh.. Congrats on everyone's losses. I too am down 2 lbs since last Friday even though I stayed the same from yesterday. I'm shrinking. I can feel it!!!!!

Fatkins...hahahaha. This is the only thing that works, for me anyway. I believe God helped me find this board, I was so depressed last Wed when I saw that astronomical number- I thought will I always battle this weight!?!!? NOt So!!! Even if I only lose 2 lbs a week I will be at my goal in a month!!

Have a wonderful day.. I'm off to work and will be back later. I love you all!!!! (Sorry for lack of emojis- sometimes my phone lets me and sometime it doesn't!)
Im so happy that you are in a better place. Its that light empty happy feeling!! Even if the scale lies, we know we are looking better day by day.

and I hear ya loud and clear..The phone is a P-A-I-N!!!

Costco run today to stock up on chicken and eggs. I am actually looking forward to my pot of breasts and thighs. I will have to look for the rotisserie seasoning. Do you guys just sprinkle a little or are you pretty heavy with the seasoning?
So scary Bratty!! Sorry!! Try to get in a nap today! Im thinking of you!!

Find that seasoning!! Its sooo good. I shake liberally over each layer.

Its ok to eat Jeanie!! As long as you're really hungry and not just craving hot sauce or mustard. lololol Especially this early on. Eat til satisfied....your appetite will mellow out.

This diet is the only way I can tell if Im really hungry. Does a plate a chicken sound good to me right now? mmmmm yup, Im hungry.. Does it sound AWFUL.... not hungry.

You might have to insert another protein in that riddle. lololol

My first week ever on Stillman's is completed and I lost 8.6 pounds. It's so easy to stick to this because I don't tolerate being hungry and this keeps me happily satisfied. I'll be using that hunger test, Aleria. "Does a plate of chicken sound good?" So glad to read that this doesn't stop working and will take us where we want to go. I'm on board till 140 which is very reasonable for my height (tall). I want to wear all my clothes!

***Congrats on the great losses this week!!!***

Nice loss Amy! I have to accept that I can eat when hungry. I am so used to be being more rigid!

Wow, OhAmy! 8 lbs in your first Stills week ever - YAY!!

Yeah, NOTHING else can replicate Stillie's results... NOTHING! So happy for all you losers! And especially everyone who has been on this for longer than a week... those drops you reported? Those numbers I read are SOLID, ladies!! Way to go!!

Btw OhAmy - I am really tall also, and 140 is my goal too. Another user MakeMe is also my height, and hopefully she will come back soon! (Are you listening, Makeme??! Missyou!!!!! )

So; I totally didn't not feel like eating ANY meat today. That's right. Nonchalant as can be, right now. And I am still COMPLETELY on plan!

I ate non-fat greek yogurt and steamed omelets for ALL of my meals today!!!!

And my macros for the day are AMAZING! I am at 140g protein right now and only 973 kcal. I am going to be aiming to hit AT LEAST 150g protein per day, so I may have a smidge of protein powder later if I get hungry, because I didn't even add any to any of my bowls of yogurt today, and I was STILL was able to hit those great numbers.

Going to check on my steamed 3-egg dinner omelet in a sec. I totally even NEVER USED it before, until this morning when I remembered that I even have it - my little omelet steamer tray that came with my little hard boiled egg steamer kitchen gadget.

I hope everyone's chix was good though! (I am TOTALLY JUST KIDDING about my green puke-face emoji, you guys!!!! )

And glad you got that scale battery replaced, Al! Now just to get rid of all of the cornstarch parading around as NON-DIETING-RUINING!! (The liar!)

Thanks Jean!
Eat when hungry is a change for me too and takes practice. No need to starve ourselves. And it will just lead to bingeing on off-plan foods (cheese for me).

I just checked my calories for today because I felt like I ate a lot with three poached eggs for breakfast and a large plate of chicken for dinner. 650 calories total. I am pleasantly full. What was I thinking eating all that fat? No need right now. I have plenty available for metabolizing!

And YES!!! The test is ALWAYS, "does a plate of protein sound good", and/or "am I hungry enough to eat a cold, gross, and dried-out, disgusting hard-boiled egg?" Not that I've used both of these a lot in my previous personal experience. But, OH YES I HAVE!!

Thanks Honeypie! Cool that we have the same goal. I'm 5'8" and was 149 in Sept 2015. It was almost perfect for me. I hope to get back to 149 on Sept 25. Not very realistic but aiming for it.

That egg steamer thing sounds awesome! Eggs are my favorite. Every day I was scrambling them in butter, frying them in butter, eating them with mayo for egg salad. Poached and HB are a great change.

Just a heads up OhAmy and anyone else who is calorie restricting - while Dr Stillmans says not to stuff ourselves; please be aware that nowhere did he ever advocate being on dangerously low levels of calories.

There is a reason that even hospital-ordered, medically supervised diets (including liquid diets) are administered with an absolute MINIMUM of 800-1000 kcal per day, and that is because anything under that for longer than a few days CAN and WILL cannibalize the muscle on your own body, if you are not A) getting enough dietary calories, and B) getting enough dietary protein.

When the body starts cannibalizing your own muscle - please be aware that it is not just talking about leg/arm/whatever muscles. This is serious - because your HEART being cannibalized for protein, is what happens. Your most important muscle of all.

So under 800 - 1000 kcal per day is not to be played with, on any diet, and this is why.

Also - don't forget everyone that on a protein sparing modified fast, which is what Dr. Stillman's diet IS, it is not only recommended, but in fact it is vital to actively and heavily supplement with salt. Far more than you usually would. So don't be afraid if you start craving salty - it is your body telling you that you need to up it. But you shouldn't really even wait until then. Just use liberally. Invest in a high quality, naturally occurring salt like a himalyan salt. It is full of HUNDREDS of micronutrients, whereas plain old white table salt from the supermarket is just a mass-market, factory made, chemical compound with zero benefits.

I know most people here are old-timers. Just posting the two most important pieces of information for anyone who might not be aware how important these two issues really are

But knowing how much protein you are getting each day would definitely be important, especially if anyone knows or suspects their calories are already very low.

Everyones amazing results this week speak for themselves!! I am so happy to be "back" with you guys. Do you all weigh on Fridays? Or was that reporting of losses today just informal? Anyway, who cares. Everyone did SO GREAT!

I am doing official weigh-ins on Saturday. I think I will be around 5.5 - 6 lbs for the week, tomorrow morning. :sprayer: Which is AMAZING. You guys know already, that I only lost 20 lbs in the 3 MONTHS up until this last week - and I was STRICT.

SO EXCITED to be on a plan that WORKS!

To hold you over until the book is available... check out the "Stillmans by the Book" thread farther down the main page. Good stuff.
Thanks Aleria! I will look at that thread right away.

I was really fat so...my history:
3/2014-9/2015 I only ate meat, eggs, and fats with limited cheese and lost happily from 298 to 149 in 18 months, never hungry, first time ever on Atkins/LCHF. Then, like a bear ready to hibernate, my body started to slowly re-accumulate fat that fall of 2015. I tried to correct it. Fasting was becoming all the rage so I did that some. Routine of 24, 48, 72 hour fasts and then a 20 day fast in March 2016. My body doesn't respond to fasting. I went to strict macro-counting keto. Then all meat. Then all beef. Gain, gain, gain. Saw something about PSMF a couple weeks ago. Then found you Stillies. Oh...💡

I appreciate the warning, Honeypie. I did not realize how low calorie I was! I will eat according to hunger and be sure to get enough protein. With those 650 calories I had 122 grams of protein which seems sufficient I think. I love lots of salt! Will be reading the book asap...

WOW, OhAmy! 298 to 149 in 18 months is AMAZING!! I am just like you too, on the fasting front that is. For sure my body doesn't respond, because I spent my whole life drinking coffee all day long, and then eating one meal at night.

I have also seriously zero carbed before, but my first time was 2006. Stillmans and zero carbing got me to my goal of 140lbs in 2006, and I am 5 ft 11.

I unfortunately have gained A LOT of weight in the last year, and it wasn't even a year. It was in only 6 months!!

My sweet dog of 16 years (who was my best friend in the world) died in my arms on Valentine's Day night last year. My kitty of 21 years died 6 months later at Christmas. And then I literally took my eye away from my focus, and "just didn't care".

Well, KISS OF DEATH. Let me tell you, I sure care now!
And now it is just too late, to cry about how much I've gained. No binging even happened to get me to this sorry place where I am right now - but definitely eating carbs did; which are a complete no-no, even on my maintenance plan, in any way.

This time last summer at 150 lbs I was just 10 lbs away from my goal of 140lbs, and all I can say is, that it will be a looooooooong road for me to get back there, or even into that range, again.

But I know that the ONLY way I have even a chance in hell to regain my sanity, and my health, is on Stillmans.

Gaining large amounts of weight is severely traumatizing, that much I can attest to from the bottom of my heart.

I'm so sorry about your dog and your kitty, HP .Have you found a new furry friend that needs your love? It is scary how quickly pounds creep on. Stealth-like.

I had to change my site settings to include older threads here in the Stillman's area and found the book excerpts! Good thing because I was just thinking of buying celery for some crunch. Cannot do that! I am going to look for the rotisserie seasoning today. I also need a new slow-cooker because my insert cracked. Anyone have one they love to recommend?

Dang scale went up a pound today.

Hope it is a good day for all!

Remember how good it will be Monday morning when we have spent the weekend on-plan!
