Thank you Amy and Jeanie for your sweet notes!

Amy, I am so annoyed for your bounce up! I was so curious about Al's rotisserie seasoning, that I googled it yesterday and it's totally NO fillers!! I am totally going to hunt it down also.

As for crockpots, I think I'm the only one in the world that doesn't want one. And I've never had one!

I basically only like my meat BURNT... so the thought of a pot full of meaty MUSH makes me want to

Today is my official weigh-in day, so I'm just heading over to the other thread I started so I can log it, but I am 6 lbs ON THE NOSE, down for my first 7 days back. And that is WITH being TOTALLY fat-adapted already, as I have been on 20g induction level carbs since April 12th.

I know I'm going to have a some weeks of even ZERO loss, - because sadly I always do, even on Stillman's, so I need to be happy for this and learn to not always want MORE.... AND I need to work on my patience.

This COULD be a long, hard, stressed out, and fraught with nerves road for me until the end of this year.... OR!!! I could commit to trying to LET GO of control over this, COMMIT to OTHER things that are important in my life, and which I KNOW will require my attention more in between now and the end of the year... and just sit back, stay on plan 100%, and have FAITH that the plan is going to to just do it's thing.

Easier said than done, but I will try.

I must check out this egg steaming contraption. Sounds great to be able to steam cook an omelette. Does this mean no spray needed?

hahahaha...

I cant include eggs, cause if there were a fridge full of hard boiled, I would eat them all.

There is a reason that even hospital-ordered, medically supervised diets (including liquid diets) are administered with an absolute MINIMUM of 800-1000 kcal per day, and that is because anything under that for longer than a few days CAN and WILL cannibalize the muscle on your own body, if you are not A) getting enough dietary calories, and B) getting enough dietary protein.

When the body starts cannibalizing your own muscle - please be aware that it is not just talking about leg/arm/whatever muscles. This is serious - because your HEART being cannibalized for protein, is what happens. Your most important muscle of all.

So under 800 - 1000 kcal per day is not to be played with, on any diet, and this is why.

Also - don't forget everyone that on a protein sparing modified fast, which is what Dr. Stillman's diet IS, it is not only recommended, but in fact it is vital to actively and heavily supplement with salt. Far more than you usually would. So don't be afraid if you start craving salty - it is your body telling you that you need to up it. But you shouldn't really even wait until then. Just use liberally. Invest in a high quality, naturally occurring salt like a himalyan salt. It is full of HUNDREDS of micronutrients, whereas plain old white table salt from the supermarket is just a mass-market, factory made, chemical compound with zero benefits.

I know most people here are old-timers. Just posting the two most important pieces of information for anyone who might not be aware how important these two issues really are

But knowing how much protein you are getting each day would definitely be important, especially if anyone knows or suspects their calories are already very low.

Everyones amazing results this week speak for themselves!! I am so happy to be "back" with you guys. Do you all weigh on Fridays? Or was that reporting of losses today just informal? Anyway, who cares. Everyone did SO GREAT!

I am doing official weigh-ins on Saturday. I think I will be around 5.5 - 6 lbs for the week, tomorrow morning. :sprayer: Which is AMAZING. You guys know already, that I only lost 20 lbs in the 3 MONTHS up until this last week - and I was STRICT.

SO EXCITED to be on a plan that WORKS!
Thank you for the info!! I started the diet on a Friday, so I use that as my weekly weigh in.

3/2014-9/2015 I only ate meat, eggs, and fats with limited cheese and lost happily from 298 to 149 in 18 months, never hungry, first time ever on Atkins/LCHF. Then, like a bear ready to hibernate, my body started to slowly re-accumulate fat that fall of 2015. I tried to correct it. Fasting was becoming all the rage so I did that some. Routine of 24, 48, 72 hour fasts and then a 20 day fast in March 2016. My body doesn't respond to fasting. I went to strict macro-counting keto. Then all meat. Then all beef. Gain, gain, gain. Saw something about PSMF a couple weeks ago. Then found you Stillies. Oh...💡
298-149. You are our hero. What an amazing transformation!! thank you so much for sharing!! and .. 20 days fasting. Talk about willpower. wow. just wow.

I have also seriously zero carbed before, but my first time was 2006. Stillmans and zero carbing got me to my goal of 140lbs in 2006, and I am 5 ft 11.

I unfortunately have gained A LOT of weight in the last year, and it wasn't even a year. It was in only 6 months!!

My sweet dog of 16 years (who was my best friend in the world) died in my arms on Valentine's Day night last year. My kitty of 21 years died 6 months later at Christmas. And then I literally took my eye away from my focus, and "just didn't care".

Well, KISS OF DEATH. Let me tell you, I sure care now!
And now it is just too late, to cry about how much I've gained. No binging even happened to get me to this sorry place where I am right now - but definitely eating carbs did; which are a complete no-no, even on my maintenance plan, in any way.

This time last summer at 150 lbs I was just 10 lbs away from my goal of 140lbs, and all I can say is, that it will be a looooooooong road for me to get back there, or even into that range, again.

But I know that the ONLY way I have even a chance in hell to regain my sanity, and my health, is on Stillmans.

Gaining large amounts of weight is severely traumatizing, that much I can attest to from the bottom of my heart.
You sure have been through a lot honeypie. Im so sorry to hear about your dear pets.

Remember how good it will be Monday morning when we have spent the weekend on-plan!
I still cant believe your pot cracked! Mine is a crock pot from 13 years ago. Its big and oval shaped, Meant for maximum amounts of meat. Thats my only criteria in a great slow cooker. and it has to have an off button, and be able to switch to warm once done. I have a tiny one for dips and the darn thing is manual...stay away from those.

LOLOL @ the fact that you would eat the whole fridge full of hard boiled eggs, Al!!!

But, yeah! The egg steaming gadget means no spray is needed at all. It's quite small, so what comes out is maybe like 2x the thickness of the McDonald's eggs that they put in the breakfast sandwiches? But I can't really remember, because I don't eat there. But they end up being that kind of general shape and consistency.

I kind of love it for even the fact that there is NO cleanup to speak of, and I don't even have a a pan to put away.

You are really SO LUCKY if you love hard boiled eggs though, because they are 100% on plan! I mean, you can literally eat as many as you want. They do not slow down weight loss for anyone, and you can't eat more than 12 in a day probably anyway. LOLOL!

WOE: Stillman diet/flexibility on weekends
Start Date: 1999 (Atkins) Lost most of my weight
Good morning!

Sorry I was mostly absent yesterday. I WAS following along on my phone. It's funny, all this time I was BEGGING for some interaction, and now I've found this hopping board full of great supportive ladies... AAAANNNNNDDDD I've been too busy to be on here much.

Amy! What am amazing loss! I enjoyed reading about your history with different WOE's. It sounds very similar to my story. I weighed 185 back in the late 90's/early 2000's which was my highest weight and that was when I started Atkins. I did it a while but didn't lost anything, then switched to calorie counting and lost about 20 lbs. Then I was motivated and went back to Atkins... not sure what happened but somehow in 2004 before my wedding I got down to 143 and then slowly after that to 125. I did Atkins with a lot of FAT and it worked. I had 2 more babies and didn't gain a lot and took it off fast.. with ATKINS. I was a low carb high fat disciple.

Then in late 2012 I started to gain. I ramped up the exercise to 2x a day.. still kept gaining. I felt crazy and out of control! I went from low 120's to 144 and all the while was doing everything to stop it. I even got rid of my birth control (copper IUD). One day in desperation I laid on the bed and said "WHY GOD" (do I keep gaining) "PLEASE HELP ME" and I heard loud and clear, "get rid of the IUD." Well, I did, like a week later, and it was like popping a balloon. I lost about 5 lbs. I don't know if I had copper toxicity but I suspect so. Then I found out about my dysfunctional thyroid and got medicated, and the weight slowly came off back down to 130. At that point I thought I CAN DO KETO AGAIN! It was all my thyroid's fault. I started watching all these youtube videos of awesome ripped keto people and eating blocks of Kerrygold butter. I didn't lose. My body fat rose on the scale, even when I kept calories reasonable.

Anyway... I had been thinking all along there's something wrong with my fat intake and I need to lower it. I tried Stillman's back in 2016 before a trip to San Diego and it worked AWESOME. I was 125 when I stepped on the plane in some tiny jeans and I felt awesome. SO WHY did I STOP short of GOAL???

I am learning here, I don't have to do that!!! I can keep going to 120 without stopping.

I really wanted to cheat last night. We went to the drive-in movie and there was nachos, popcorn, chicken strips, etc. I'd had 6 egg whites, one whole egg, and some turkey burger for dinner, but for some reason it didn't hold me. I stayed strong though and didn't eat anything there. YEAH!! I just keep thinking, "NO CHEATS." lol.

I was thinking of the board too and how I want to hold myself accountable to you ladies!! I am going to try to reduce my scale dependence and just weigh once a week if possible... I get depressed when I see a gain which is totally normal I know but I don't want it to mess with my head. I also ran 3 miles yesterday, cut the grass, cleaned the house, was very active and thought I might see a bounce so I didn't weigh today.

REST ASSURED, I was VERY good and on plan. I ended at 980 cals and 45 carbs.. protein was like 130 I think.

Thanks for the tip about salt... I don't think I've been adding enough.

It's going to be 90 here today, so I will probably blow up like a balloon again... good plan to stay off the scale for a while (yeah I say that now but I'm addicted to the thing especially when seeing RESULTS so we will see!!)

I agree with you guys starting a motivational thread!

(OH AND TRUE CONFESSION TIME I have fallen for the oat bran cake before. I know.. I know.. I cut that out though and I'm only doing psyllium husk!)

Thanks for the tip on this honeypie! I am always afraid to add too much salt... so you mean to liberally salt everything?

I am going to weigh on Fridays for my 'official' day and try to stay off the scale the rest of the week if I can manage. Then hopefully I will get a BIG SURPRISE and it will be worth the wait!

This diet is the only way I can tell if Im really hungry. Does a plate a chicken sound good to me right now? mmmmm yup, Im hungry.. Does it sound AWFUL.... not hungry.

You might have to insert another protein in that riddle. lololol
I love it that I can eat when hungry again. I was forcing myself to fast for so long and it didn't seem to be doing anything!!! Such a relief to eat when I need to and then be done with it!!! I do this with eggs.. do I want an egg.. sometimes I'd rather eat gravel and at other times it sounds like the best food on earth!

Awesome loss! I am like that 'always wanting more' it's a good reminder that there will be 'lean' weeks!

Easier said than done, but I will try.

Burnt meat.. Makes me think of my crispy turkey crumbles. I always cook the heck out of ground turkey (or beef), and once it starts burning, I add just a tiny bit of water to scrape up all the yummy bits.

Happy one week anniversary of QWL Honeypie!! Great results for the week!! and you got to eat dessert!! Go you!!

Do let go of the negatives. It will most definitely get better from here. No stress!! As each day passes, more weight (OR INCHES) will be lost!! Enjoy each day of this new transformation. This group will always be here when times get tough! Before you know it, you will be at goal, and be in awe that you didnt have to wait 5 years to get there!! The magic of Stillmans!! Take joy in the little things!! For me its seeing both sides of car seat when Im strapping myself in!! Or how the bath towel when wrapped up covers all my lady parts again!! Woohoo and Amen to that!!

LOLOL!
Oh I can! I most definitely can. But 12 chicken breasts! NOT!!

Everyone needs to order that egg steamer ASAP!! Its a winner!!

No worries DL!! We know how committed you are to us!! and we know how time consuming it is to use the phone! lolol Let life and happy times take priority!! This group will always be here when you get back.

Gosh I cant count how many times I was allowed back in.. Actually, theres no keeping me out!

Thank you too for sharing your story. and great job staying away from temptation!!! I too stay on plan because Im too afraid to have to tell you guys I messed up! Accountability is key!! But nobodies perfect and if we mess up, we jsut get up and dust ourselves off and get right back to business. (Says the girl who swigs not on plan pickle juice from time to time)

This is what I'm doing, no more daily weighing. I am scale obsessed to the max. There were some days I'd weigh 3-4x. Craziness. and it would totally dictate my mood. I NEED to reduce the scale dependence! If I could stay off it til next Friday that would be a miracle!!!!

This is why I am NOT going to be weighing daily. I do NOT want to trip on a number. I know I'm on point and it is merely a matter of time until I get to where I'm goin. I don't want to obsess.

AL~ U crack me up! "Wait an hour and pee..." MOMMA this is so what I do. So funny! YIPPY YAH! Love it. Congrats on the 3 gone forever. I probably need to check my battery as well as my scale is a demon.

JEANIEM ~ AWESOME SAUSE on your loss. You are knocking on the 120's loud and clear. KUTGW. We are so happy u came and joined us. xoxo I'm elated you tried the Psyllium Husks as they really do work and I think better than the Dukan Gallette noise.

DL ~ How'z it goin', yo?

BRATTY~ Step on in here and give us the SKINNY on the pot of thighs and breasts... Was it a hit?

BTW, I WANT TO HAVE THE MCCORMICKS SPICES TOO! I can't find em. BOO...

Here's to a wonderful weekend. "Lord, help us stay strong with our endeavor's and bless the work of our hands!" IJN.

HUgs and love,

B
and then B drops in and gives me the warm and fuzzies...

Whats up with Idaho or Iowa, or Ohio?? Cant rememember..lol They better get on the McCormick band wagon. I really hope you guys like the seasoning when you try it. Remember its coming from the girl who has eaten nothing but chicken and water on occasion, so any new flavor besides chicken breast flavor can taste amazing to me.

You guys have it right to stay away from the scale if it might set you up to do "bad things" Plus, how exciting to see big losses all at once, instead of little ones here and there creeping along the week. I would say Im joining but I cant. Im a daily weigher..

I know, I know.. lol... but when I was fasting all day it would sometimes be motivational.. sometimes I wanna weigh after 'bathroom visits,' but at other times a total nightmare!! Like the day after the Fourth of July when I gained 4 lbs overnight! I thought I had done well and would be down, that was a slap in the face.. haha.. but if I'm honest with myself I was not THAT good. I did eat an enriched wheat flour cookie and 10 Doritos, tuna salad with heavy mayo, plus sat in the sun for hours and hours... not a good time to weigh in!

I think even if you did keep weighing, you would start to see that it always works out in the end on QWL. Cant say that for any other diet. But man I get it. I can just smell a dorito and gain 5 pounds!!!. lolololol

So Hey!! Ive officially hit 25 pounds down this morning, in 37 days. Maybe my weigh in day should be Saturday. Its like every Saturday the whoosh fairy visits me.

Everyone enjoy your day!!!!! I'll be available in case anyone is faced with a decision to eat the tostito, dorito, burrito or not. Please do ask permission first.
