B, I'm aware working out is not necessary on stillmans. But I enjoy my workouts. I can control the gym way more than my willpower over food. If I stop working out, I probably honestly might do a tiny bit better with food but I'd gain weight. I can typically keep focus on diet alone for like a month at most with stillmans and I slip up. Longest record for me was 30 days back in Oct 2015 I think... So long ago.. even then I was able to almost get 10 pounds off and I was strict doing chicken breast. Weight doesn't shed off me. Trust me if it did I'd get motivated by the scale.

The scale and measurements are the only things that motivate me so that's why I asked if anyone had any tips. I'm already regaining so need to nip it in the bud. Thinking I need to stop stillmans as the strict nature doesn't motivate me. And I've Gained like 10 pounds since trying to do it.

I'm at a loss there. Maybe there is something wrong with your Thyroid?

I hope you find what works best for you; there is nothing worse than having your attempts thwarted! Trust me, I've been there so many times.

Howdy! I'm sorry I went missing. My life is so crazy right now. I'm flying out Monday morning, but must be ready Sunday afternoon as I'm driving to my son's home 4 hours away. I will fly from the airport close to him. In the meantime, my work load continues to increase. But I'm having an on plan day and that feels great!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED! I finally hit the wall of joy and energy. It took a good 3-4 days and I'm totally in the groove! Man, once those first few days are over with, it's like a dream! There is lack of hunger, energy, HOPE for a better body in a matter of weeks and life is so good! I just love STILLS and ATKINS for mnts.

WHo's with me, yo? Let's do this thing and be done with it once and for all!

I'm so sorry to hear about having to put your precious animal down. How terrible. I feel like my doggies are my children and I would hate to have to do that. My prayers are with you.

Is anyone weird like me and refuses to weight themselves the first week or two bc your afraid of what the scale says prior to starting to lose wt again? I usually lose anywhere from 5-7 lbs. my first week so I always just tack on those lbs to what I finally end up losing. Is that silly or what. My goodness, what we do psychologically sometimes. Silly!

Not me. I need to see every ounce go away!. Yesterday, I had 2 sips of coffee before I realized I hadnt weighed yet! I ran with the quickness to get the scoop. I shouldve spit it out, maybe I couldve lost another pound. Thats a weirdo.

.... and I have been drinking 2 quarts of Crystal Light Green Tea Peach Mango per day. Judging from my last go-round with QWL, my losses will slow up next week. So I may have to cut back on my artificial sugars. Im looking to lose about 7-10 more pounds, then I need to transition back to veggies!!

Veggies/Carbs dont curb my appetite though... QWL is a miracle. lol

So I have been reading the book, and for lean meat, it does not specifically say chicken breasts. So can we have chicken thighs too? Or too high in fat?

Pork meat is a no-no?

We never understood why pork wasn't included in the diet, maybe back in the day they didn't have the low fat cuts we can get now?? I have eaten them in the past without any issues.

As for the chicken... yes to dark meat, no to yummy crispy skin. Every visible bit removed. lol

As you get further through the book you'll see the man hated fat. lol

Also... the thing about chicken legs and thighs is they are too tasty, and if you are like me, they are very easy to overeat. But, I totally suggest eating 5 of them or 8 if it keeps you on plan!!

Thanks, Al! My husband does not like chicken breasts so I usually cook thighs without skin. Good to know I can eat chicken thigh too just without the skin!

Do you have a slow cooker Amelie? I really suggest trying it to cook the chicken breasts with loads of seasoning and spices. (or taco sauce/hot sauce/even Salsa) You could even do half breasts half thighs in the pot, then shred together. Mixing the 2 together is making me drool right now. and its automatically less calories/fat but lots of added flavor!!

oooo I may do this for the holiday. I'll make a big pot for myself and leave the salsa or BBQ on the side for everyone else.

How do you make your chicken. What temp do you put it on and for how many hours? Do you add any chicken stock? HELP!

OH NO, you are going to be finished in a week and then leave us if you only have 7-10 to lose. How much have you lost this go around? Is your siggy correct? I NEED TO KNOW THE FACTS, MAMMA! LOL

BTW, Al you should do research on how healthy meat actually is. If we do not eat all the processed garbage and eat a meat based diet with all the veggies we want, we are actually MORE HEALTHY than just all veggie diet.

TRUST ME, I know what I'm talking about. And, being in Nursing School, I REALLY know what I'm talking about. LOL

Hi B! Nothing fancy about my chicken. 6-8 breasts, in 2 layers in the slow cooker, loaded with seasonings of choice. Lately Ive been using McCormick Rotisserie seasoning, or McCormick jerk seasoning, and I always like taco seasoning. After it cooks on low for 7-8 hrs, I shred it all in a large container, then I pour all the juice it makes back over it. The rest of the family will eat some of it in wraps, but I just eat plates and bowls of it on its own. Sometimes I add mustard or hot sauce, but I tend to go for seconds if I do that

Every go round with QWL, I cant seem to eat the same thing. So Im sure after this stint, shredded slow cooker chicken will be forgotten. lol

Last time, my go to bulk cooking was baked chipotle chicken breast. Id slice them in half, pound them thin, load them with all kinds of seasoning and extra chipotle. Bake, then chop into bite sized pieces, divide into containers, and pour all that juice back over each one. This is so much more work compared to the slow cooker way, but really yummy.

I didnt change my signature cause I think it helps others out there with a lot to lose to see the progress they can really make with QWL. This run, I lost 19 pounds since June 9th.

I would NEVER want you to take off the past, last losses as they REALLY INSPIRE ME to this day! U ROCK!

I'm gonna try the slow roasted ckn. What temp did you put it on? LOW? 8 HOURS right?

Al - I have a slow cooker. I should dredge it out of the cabinet then! I used it once then didn't use it again because it takes up so much space. lol. The half breast-half thigh idea is fab! I'd use that!

And I'm like you in the every-round-should-be-different thing! I remember ten years ago I did Stillmans with just chicken breasts - after that I couldn't eat chicken breasts for a few years. lol
