Sorry to dessert you gals for two days! We had a very crazy two days. Lots of fun but crazy! Friday I ended up out literally all day and then out with dh until late and home cooking for the family reunion after midnight. Yesterday had the reunion, met a few out for one drink then out boating with two very dear people. We ended up finally getting dinner at 10 PM. LOTS and lots of fun those last two days!

Today Im making a massive pot of low carb soup and blanching fresh green beans. I decided to do the plan I mention in my last post with the set 5 day menu including the soup for lunch and dinner every day until Fri AM.

Yesterdays eats:

greek yogurt/ berries

sausage, cheese, slaw and fresh veggies

glass of wine

burger patty and pepper

Todays eats:

2 eggs, 2 bacon, half an avocado/ coffee/ 2 T butter

LC soup

LC soup

HANDBELLS~ Welcome!!!!! We are glad to have you join us!

NANCY ~ You are doing fabulous!!!! Maybe for the cruise you could do for the most part LC with a daily treat? Where are you venturing off too?

JESS~ Id blame hormones. Im sure the inch will leave as fast as it came!

FINDINGME~ Im 5 ft 4. Im sure seeing little loss the last two months on the scale but definately in inches. Congrats on your monthly loss!!! Woo hoo!!! Yeah on inch loss too!It sounds like you are going to be making some fabulous food this week!!! If your Dr fusses Id personally be mad and point out all your great progress!

DIMPLY~ I hope that scale of your is still not in the naughty club with my scale! Hope all is well!

MICHELLE~ Where are you hiding?

handbells! Just copy + paste your stats to the chart above this post. Glad you're here!

I ordered a dress for the wedding we are attending at the end of Sept. I bought the size I am now, and wanted to order a size down also in case I could fit into it in 2 months, but it was sold out. It arrived Friday & fits perfectly. So I asked DH if he thought I should work on maintaining for the next couple of months so that the dress still fits, and he said I should continue to lose and if the dress is too big I can have a big cheat meal. He's no help But the joke's on me because I keep gaining weight with no change in eating

My brother signed me up for a 5K in September so I am going to be starting the couch to 5K Tuesday. I won't be finished the program by the time of the race, but we are just doing it for fun.

Mick - Sounds like a fun few days! My scale is most definitely being naughty

Thanks, Mick! Our cruise will take us to the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Falmouth Jamaica, and Labadee) in the fall and yes, I sure hope to keep LC for the most part! Every time that I stay on this way of eating for any length of time, I wonder why I ever stray?

The truth is that I have lost these same 25-45 lbs multiple times over the years, but rarely have gotten below that. It's like my brain says, "hey, you've been doing great! Looking and feeling better, so surely you can maintain for a bit and stay in the same weight neighborhood". The truth is, I can never stay in the same range without seriously paying attention. DUH. When will I learn? I am 56!

Oh well, I had better say goodnight.

How does this work at the end of the month? We post a month-end weight and a new chart begins?

Thanks.

Nancy

Morning y'all!

Welcome HandBells! Iím a big Peanuts fan so your avatar makes me happy.

Jess Ė I hope your water has receded!

Nancy Ė WTG on the now official loss! The cruise is good incentive to keep you on the right track.

Mick Ė Iím so glad that you had a fun 2 days and did so well at the reunion. You are a rock star! I hope all goes well with the low carb soup diet!

Dimply Ė Congrats on another 2.5 down! Awesome job! I think it is wise to be safe on the dress. Youíll be more proud if it is a little loose as opposed to too tight. And maybe there is a way to take it in, if needed?
Iíve done C25K a few times before my knees gave out. It is a great program. If you can get past the middle part you will have a good handle on your breathing/stamina which helps even for race walking. The week where you jump from 8 minutes to 20+ always killed me. I found that I could actually walk faster than jog because I was always worried about coming down on my knees so hard so it looked more like I was trying to defy gravity.

Iíve made it since Friday not weighing. It has been tough since I didnít hide the scale so it yells at me every time I use the water closet. I donít know if the anxiety of not weighing is worse than the anxiety of watching the scale not move for days at a time. Iíve upped my calories the last few days to around 1300 so that has made me feel slightly less off-kilter while still keeping my deficit streak. Iím curious to see what the 4-day result will be from that, but it is what it is.

Have a great week!!!

Good Morning!

Thank you for all the warm welcomes

Mick6-sounds like your reunion was a blast!

Dimply- I agree with FindingMe about the dress. If it's too big in a few months (fingers crossed!), perhaps you can have it taken in. I'll post on the chart tomorrow for August.

Nancy-oh, a cruise! How fabulous! I hope you have a wonderful time!

FindingMe-If you look closely, you'll see that the Peanuts characters are dressed up as Dr Who characters...which is why I like it. lol! WTG on ignoring the scale!

Here's a little about me: My name is Jenn, I'm a mom of four (17, 15, 12, 11), and I was 45 a few months ago. The only time in my life when I haven't had a weight problem was when I swam everyday for a swim team. I'm short (5'1) and overweight and tired of it all. I can't do anything about my height, but I can sure do something about the weight! I have lost and gained and lost and gained too many times to count. I am so over it. Almost all of my weight is in the front and I can't stand to look at my profile. I am more determined than ever to at least get to onederland (I was 228.8 this morning!) and stay there! I got there several years ago, but didn't stay long.

Didn't mean to write a book! lol!

I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Todays eats for me

BP coffee/ 2eggs/ 2 bacon/ half and avocado

Atkins turbo soup

celery and 1/2 c egg salad

Atkins turbo soup

Wow I have to say that is some delicious soup!!! As in one of my favorites ever! I subbed in cauliflower for the celery root. Ill be basically following this menu subbing tuna salad the last 2 days for egg salad. Friday we leave to take the 4 kids to a cabin for the weekend so that will be regular low carb.

I wasnt planning to weigh until Thur when I have to get weighed for my life inurance exam. Ha tomorrow is the 1st so I need to weigh for here and Wed U need to do a token weigh in for the diet wager game.

I have some big news Im not allowed to share until after the Dr appointment tomorrow with family and friends. I can share with you though. We found out yesterday. WE are going to be grandparents in April!! Exciting news! It still doesnt seem real.

Handbells~ You sound like a very busy lady!! Many of us have done the loss / gain cycle over and over. I think having people to check in with makes a huge difference in our success. Youve got this and we are all happy to support you!!! The reunion was a blast for sure!

Findingme~ your just so nice! It was easy to do good at the reunion because most of it had wheat it it Fabulous job not weighing in daily! Now your the rock star!!! I am always amazed with your deficit!!

Nanabell ~ that sounds like an awesome cruise!!! I love cruises. I bet you cant wait! 7 days of no cooking It seems we have that I can just maintain mindset in common. Sadly I guess we can never eat like the just naturally slim people who dont think about it. The end of the month we change the end number and It will read August start above it and change your current which is the second number. Ill tabulate all our losses once everyone weighs in so we can keep a grand total.

Dimply~ I go with keeping the dress that fits now. Most places give you 60 or 90 days to return. If it starts getting really lose you can pick out a new one. If you really love it someone could take it in for you. Dont sweat that scale being a butt and bumping up. Being female seems to make us jump all over with weight. Best of luck on the training!!!

Jess~ hope all is well!

Michelle~ Missing you!!

I've done really well with my eating today, but I'm feeling bloated and I'm not sure why.

That soup diet you are on looks interesting, Mick6. I wonder if I could modify it...hmmm... probably not. I don't know what I would sub for bacon (I don't like bacon. Probably one of the few!) or the avocado (which I like in small amounts. I don't know that I could eat half).

I'm still here but I've been super busy lately. I've tried to follow a little but it's been hard even finding the time to read everything I fell off the wagon for a few days for multiple reasons but I'm back on track. I'll try weighing in today at work and posting later today or tomorrow.

Hey everyone!

I finally weighed and I actually gained the 4/10ths back that I had lost after the last numbers were posted. I'm beyond frustrated so I'll just keep this short. All that hard work and I lost less than half of what I shoulda for the month of July (dumb science). Resetting the deficit calculator for August, but I'm extremely bitter right now about the whole process. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

Mick - I'm not sure if you wanted me to post on the old list or wait til you started August. Either way, no change for me so the numbers will be the same. SIGHHHHHHHHH

I'll be back when I am in a better mood...

Ugh I bounced up a 4 pounds since Sunday. I get to start this month with a .5 gain now. Thats why I just dont like the scale. Fibbing thing.Kind of ironic since my calories and carbs have been very controlled for once! Scale up and inches down a tad. Oh well it will look like a big loss when the water wooshes away! I also have a pimple. No!!! The joys of being a middle ages woman with ovary! LOL

I cant wait until after the kids Dr appointment so I can officially announce to everyone we are going to be grandparents. It has been hard to keep quiet!!!

WHEN YOU WEIGH IN FOR AN 8/1 Start could you put your JULY loss in () at the end so I dont get too lost tabulating. Pretty please

Nancy~ Great Job!!!! A 6.5 loss for the month for you!!! I put your new start weight for the August in and I will remove the -6.5 when I change the title to August.

Findingme ~ dont sweat the silly scale! Mine just bounced up 4 pounds since Sunday. Now I know I didnt gain 4 pounds eating low carb and low cal the last few days! It is just a tool. If my math is right you still lost 6.4 for the month. That is awesome!!! Are you checking inches?

Rockinpeach~ no worries! Your still doing great. You know why? Because you are still trying! No perfection required because we all live real lives!

Lorabelle~ Welcome! You can either add your self to the list or post a start weight and your 12/24 goal and one of us will add you. Right now the list is kind of wonky currently as we have weigh ins and I restart it for August. The little numbers in () at the end are just me making notes on peoples losses for july so I can tally the group total.

Most people seem to start with Atkins and induction at 20 or less carbs per day. If you search Atkins induction on this forum there are tons of resources.

FindingMe -- don't worry and don't give up! You got this. I agree with Mick about the stupid scale.
Nancy -- congratulations on the weight loss!
Lorabelle -- welcome! This is a fun group.
Rockinpeach, good for you for getting back on track
Mick -- that soup sounds good. Do you have a recipe? I hear you about the joys of being a middle aged woman -- I also have TOM and a pimple -- good times!

It is sunny, warm and breezy here in Boston. Can you believe it is already August 1? Where did the summer go? I find it easier to diet in the summer as the heat can kill your appetite. Lets make the most of summer while we can. The Farmer's Almanac is forecasting a warm Fall too. Hopefully this will help us reach our goals by December!

Have a great day ladies!

Thanks y’all! I’m going to stay strong since I am doing my best and that is all I can do. I’m going to try something new for once and not go off the rails after the scale sticks for 10+ days. New Day. New Month. Not going to think about the past since I don’t plan on going back.

Welcome LoraBelle!

RockinPeach – Good for you getting back on track!

Nancy – Congrats on the new numbers!

Gail – Bummer about the pimple and TOM! I hope you get the weather you want UP THERE. Our Falls are still in the high 80's so I don't want anything warmer than normal down here. Cooler would be much better so I can actually get outdoors again during the daylight hours!!!

Mick – I’m sure yours is ovary related. Hang in there, sister and brace for the whoosh!
Yep, I’m measuring monthly. I did lose a little all over, but not 14 pounds worth. I’m going to pretend the 8 lbs that I didn’t lose is now muscle. HAH.

Jenn – I thought the characters looked a bit “off” in the avatar from the classic version, but even with my Mr. Magoo reading glasses, my eyes just aren’t that good up close. I’m with you on the fight to get to Onederland and stay there! I’m the Queen of YOYO and have resided in the Land of Obesity since my late 20’s so I understand completely. I yearn for those “overweight” days of my youth.

Dimply – You okay over there?

Scales suck I am up from my last official weight, but refuse to claim any gain unless it is due to an ice cream binge. If the scale's gotta go up, let me have some fun, will ya?

What I hate is when you have a new pimple, and while trying your best to conceal it with make-up, you notice a new crow's foot or 10. :shakes fist at Mother Nature:

Mick - Big congratulations!!! You all must be so thrilled!!!

Lorabell!

Welcome, Handbells! You make me feel tall! I'm 5'3"!

I thought I gained weight this weekend- but I LOST 2 lbs!!

But, then again, I am the heaviest of all of us here! -and I'm in that beginning stage- you know, where the sudden diet/exercise change is giving me an easy, big jumpstart.

I still look the same, tho- and I'm getting frantic about loose skin too

Feel great still with the exercise- once or twice I even did the treadmill 2 times in the day. Using weights to help arm-skin bat wings.... Oh God, 50 yr old skin!

Well....

Here's to an upcoming great week of progress for all of us!

PS: Anyone tried the Coke Zero Sugar?

Yay Debbie Downer! Congratulations on your loss!
Dimply -- LOL! So agree about the ice cream binge. If we're gonna gain weight, it better be worth it! And so true about the pimple/wrinkle combo of middle age...

I don't mean to be the chart police, but please make sure you are updating the most recent one. For now, it is the one above this post, but be sure to check further down the thread in case someone updates it.

Gail if you scroll up my post to you about the soup

Dimply~ Thanks for catching that! Gaining without an ice cream binge is just not fair! I just about died laughing about your comment about pimples and crows feet. That rings true for me! I just hope I dont start to see gray!

Debbie~ I liked the Coke zero sugar. Congrats on your fabulous loss!!!!!! Way to go!! I wouldnt fret too much about lose skin. Some people lose a very large amount ndd dont get much and some do. We cant control it so not worth fretting about. My motto is fret only about things I can control.

Findingme~ Youve got this and your doing fabulous!!! I know you wanted more but its still fab!!!

I got to spill the news about the baby last night so that was fun!! It still seems trippy we will be grandparents!!

I guess Ill give the people that havent weighed in yet a few days. I hope you dont mind the numbers in () at the end for now! We are at a total of 30.4 lost as a group in July so far with those of u that have weighed in so far!!
