Thanks for the new post, ff. Happy July everyone!

Not much going on today. Yesterday was great! I went swimming yesterday for the first time in I don't know how long....6 years? It is so hot, my sister and I went to the indoor swimming pool at one of the rec centers. We had a blast.

We went after seeing my surgeon for my post op appointment. He is very pleased with how I'm doing. We discussed the other knee, but since it isn't hurting me, he said it would be wrong of him to do surgery when there isn't a need, even though my knee is bad. I appreciated his honesty and unwillingness to wield the knife. If it starts hurting, we will deal with it then. I don't know what that means for my sister and her SO....I know they don't like the heat so I'll have to see what they decide. She said that when I needed her for the next surgery, she would come back to help me.

Not much else to report.

Stay cool!

greetings. welcome to summer day 11 &

the 2nd 1/2 of 2017. I ordered the 28 oz porterhouse yesterday, and I could not finish it!!! I will finish it before the opera begins. I also have a small green salad to which I will throw in a 5oz can of tuna, and some mayo. that will be this evening. I will be enjoying today's opera (Bellini's Norma)with a new friend-my new fan. tell me about your July 4th food plans. for me, nothing out of the ordinary. tomorrow, finally, I am getting a pre-paid card with which I can order some things from Netrition, especially the Walden Farms hickory bbq sauce. stay cool, and stay hydrated. glad u are making knee progress, Marilee. My goal for this blitz is not pound lossage, it will be sticking to plan. Less than 20 net carbs per day, little soda beverages, more protein, less snackage, and no eating within 2 hours of bedtime. Just don't take my coffee!!

no, Gibbs, we got our own.

I will be consuming a large iced coffee at Shoprite later. as it happens, there was only a few oz of steak left, which I ate cold. that did the trick. but I changed my mind about the salad and tuna. I ordered the pork chop dinner, and as an appetizer, a bacon cheddar burger with a sunny side egg on top. those pork chops came from an anorexic pig. it was just enough. I have enough veggies to compose a salade nicoise. I just need some olives. so far, my new/old way of counting carbs does not seem restrictive, or unsustainable. yay moi! Enjoy day 12 of summer, y'all. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Anchovies too? Dégoûtant! I think I spelled that right, the accents don't look right though.

The old man, Thing 1, and a buddy of his took the boat this morning. Thing 2 is still asleep, but it's not even 8 yet. And the mutt, probably the best smelling of the bunch, is snoring on the couch in the TV room. He's spoiled.

Food today, probably an omelet of sorts, a salad, and the ground turkey creation I made yesterday.

No plans for today except the grocery, I hate shopping.

Hi gang. I posted on the previous blitz, oh well.

We returned from a whirlwind college visit trip with 17 yo. (5 colleges). He will be seeing two more with his dad in a couple of weeks and wants to squeeze in two more before August!

I am easing back into LCHF. My goal for this blitz is to stay on some kind of plan and avoid whites. Chris, you are spot on with your goals.

I haven't weighed yet and hate to step on the scale. I will be starting my iron infusions Wednesday for a total of 5. I have the rest of the summer off until I begin my position as a RN/program coordinator for a daycare called the Comfort Zone affiliated with the University childcare center at ISU. This is for mildly ill children who can't attend a normal daycare. I will be working 3 days a week, one being for coordinator duties and the other two for the childcare room. I also filled out a volunteer app for the local hospital and plan to fill in some time there.

Hope all have a happy 4th. We will be going to my brothers for a grill out since it is my mother's bday.

hi everyone, sorry for the delay in finding you guys in here, but i guess i am not the last one...surprised i beat abi in here for how late i am...haha

has anyone heard from lynn?...do we know how she is doing?...

we haven't heard from tammy in awhile either - hope she didn't melt during that heat wave!

marilee!!!...good to see you and hear about how well you are doing!...i'm kinda in a similar boat with my left hip as you are with your knee...let's say it has its moments...i'm not limping and it only hurts occasionally, but when it does, it reminds me of the pain i had on the other side before surgery...working out seems to make it sire in the short-term, but better in the long term, if that makes sense...

ff, you prove every day why you are our leader with sage advice and setting a great example!...thanks for the summer day countdown ;-)

chris, congrats on your excellent results for the last blitz...if you keep to your behavioral goals, you will lose weight during this blitz as well...love your french?

vicki, i haven't weighed in awhile...i've been sore and feeling like i am retaining fluid and have not wanted to get discouraged...yesterday i went to the gym at 6:30 a.m., before going with a buddy to help him buy a car...i hadn't gone in 5 days...i pushed myself and felt better...

i won't say i've been "on-plan" - i've been having the occasional scoop of ice cream (once a week or so) and a salty snack here and there (maybe a couple of times per week), but not many carbs other than that...i am allowing myself those things right now and do not feel deprived...i will get on something more strict, soon...

i'll write more later!

good to see you abs...did your computer break down?...

i am in the midst of a few days off...four of my kids (not sarah) and my grandbabies went to see a minor league baseball game last night so that was fun...we met emmy and her family for dinner tonight at the outback steakhouse and that was fun too...tomorrow, dw, youngest son and i are heading to the cottage in maine, just for the day...ama wants to come, so i told her to ask her momma...we'll see...we drive close to emmy's house on the way...

not sure about the 4th yet...emmy is going to sal's grandparent's house, and his grandma called me today to invite us...sarah had said she was coming home, but then volunteered to work, so it's up in the air...

what is everyone else up to for the holiday?...

No Tony, my computer is still working knock on wood. I was like the sneaky kid that reads under the blanket with a flashlight. I was tired and said I was headed to bed and then got on the tablet to do some last minute stuff. lol shhhhh

My goal for this blitz is to continue with Fast 5 and hope for the one pound a week drop. Fridays will be my official weigh in day.

I did pretty well the last two days although on Saturday I did eat for a little longer than the window. We had a wonderful family and friends get together at my sister's up in Canaan, NH. Although it rained off and on. They had a big tent set up so we stayed fairly dry. There were 28 adults and 8 children. My brother in law had cooked ribs and pulled pork and everyone brought side dishes. What a great day!

not sure how this photo will turn out as I took it with my tablet. My old faithful camera has bit the dust. Only got one bloom this year of the plant that looks like a sea oat to me. It's on the bottom left and is called astilbe. The white flowers are a foxglove that my brother says is sort of a wild one, only comes in that color and will reseed itself. The pink bush in the back is called spirea. The little blue flowers my brother gave me also two years ago have not bloomed yet. I am thrilled with anything that will bloom for me. I definitely do not have a green thumb! lol

Hey guys am just going to try and keep on on this blitz. I have been back to work and they are working me hard.
Apparently I am the only one that can do certain things. They argued for a month who should do what and left it for me..lol.

great to see you, Lynn... and everyone.

once again, ff has changed his plans. I am staying in today, AND tomorrow. of course, on the 4th there is the all day TWILIGHT ZONE marathon. I will not be watching tv all day long, but I WILL be watching quite a number of episodes. foodwise, I will be eating bbq chicken. I have a bottle of Mr. Stubbs low sugar bbq sauce, 2 gr carbs per 1 T. until I am able to get the WF bbq sauce, this will have to suffice. I will cut it with 1 T reduced carb ketchup, and some Chinese mustard, just enough to put on the skin side. that will be tomorrow. I have not finalized today's food plans yet. I hope everyone enjoys day 12 of summer. OH, BTW, those of y'all who are mega TZ fans, which is your fave episode? Mine is "time enough at last" featuring the indispensable Burgess Meredith. I don't know the title of the episode, the lady that can stop time with the necklace, or was it a broach, she found in the back yard. That would be my luck!

Happy 4th y'all!

today is the 14th day of summer. I mis-spoke the other day. early this a.m., I had 2 hard boiled eggs which I made into egg salad, and combined with some tuna salad. soon, I will be ordering the roast chicken dinner, and adding the low carb bbq sauce (1T) plus 1 T reduced carb ketchup, and 1 packet of Chinese mustard, and apply it to the skin side of the chicken. but, 1st I will have the chicken soup w/o noodles, and a bunless cheddar burger with bacon topped with a sunny-side up egg. if I am still hungry, then I will have the chicken. well, Joey (Jaws) Chestnut did it again-72 Nathans franks. Enjoy the rest of the day y'all. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Good morning. Road trip today for a close cousins funeral, still can't believe she's gone! Two years older than me, best person in the world, and leaves us from a car wreck. I think I'm more ticked from finding out about it via Facebook.

I have to make the mail run at work first, I volunteered for it weeks ago and didn't have the heart to say I couldn't do it. My plan is do the mail run first thing, be at my desk by 9 and out of work by 9:30. 3 hour drive and the funeral is at 1:00. Mom and Dad have a 5 hour drive! The old man isn't fond of me driving by myself, and he better not have jinxed me by saying if something happens to the truck I'll be stuck wherever it decides to quit. And my plan is to call Mom before I leave to see if any detours, they'll be about 2 hours ahead of me.

Bacon for breakfast, if I hid it well enough last evening. The rest of the day will be bunless fast food. I will grab some snacks out of my desk drawer, beef sticks, nuts, ranch sunflower seeds.

I had a check up yesterday and the look of on the docs face, 50# more gone since I was there 6 months ago. And all is well, just took blood for the basic checks, I added a vitamin d3 request.

Have a good day!

Oh Chris, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. Have a safe trip.

I bet your Dr. was so amazed with your weight loss in the last 6 months. You have been a real inspiration to all of us. I am a firm believer in vitamin D3. Have taken it for years and think it has very good for my immune system.

On plan since Monday and tracking on a well known app. Tuesday I went off plan but didn't gain. It is hot and humid here and hubby is still on vacation. We are going to take his dad to a Farmall tractor museum tomorrow (personally, I don't care about tractor but will go along anyways). We will be eating out somewhere. I hate eating out when I am just starting.

Vicki, that eating out is tough. I'm glad we only eat out for breakfast and our waitress knows my usual is just bacon and eggs.

Well weekly weigh in is tomorrow and one pound per week is all that is expected. But just in case my scale does something "funny" tomorrow I was down one pound today and I'm counting it!

chris, sorry about your cousin...you are a good person to travel so far to attend the funeral...what a tragedy - i'm really sorry for your entire family...puts our weight loss journey in perspective...that's awesome to hear about your doctors reaction to another 50 lb. loss...they often struggle to get patients to lose 5 lbs!

lynn, so good to see you and hear you are back to work...how are you feeling?...what's new?

vicki, welcome to the bandwagon!...i'm climbing on with you...haha...have fun at the tractor museum...

hey avocado!...good to see ya...where you been?

ff, the days of summer are racking up!...any interesting excursions lately?...the weather has been warm but not hot, and dry here...hope it's been as nice there...

abi, good luck on the scale tomorrow - you got your loss so anything else will be gravy...ummmm, gravy...
:-)
