Wow do I have a massive no carb headache this morning. But the scale moved down 4 numbers! I think I can do 1 more day, although I'm having 2 eggs fried in just a non stick skillet and then cottage cheese sometime. But I have plenty of chicken for the week. I'm wanting cheese!

And I snooped the chicken thighs, yes they do have way more fat than the breast, i just didn't realize that much more.

well, today is July 25. SO WHAT?

it is earth mom's birthday-she is 95 years of, but is celebrating outside of planet earth, or out of phase with it. Today also begins the annual BAYREUTH festival, at Bayreuth, in Germany. it opens, just as it did in 1983, when I was there, with DIE MEISTERSINGER. I will play it here at home with a vintage recording of the same from the 1951 festival. this will give me a kind of "umbilical" connection to the wonderful experiences I enjoyed there. I attended all 7 operas in a 9 day period. too old to do THAT anymore. as these are all having several performances each, I will be able to hear all 7. it is the same 7 that were offered in 1983. of course, I will have something special to eat. I will order the broiled salmon with spinach sauted in BUTTER and garlic. I will also order 2 orders of pork sausage. to be on the safe side I will count 3 gr of carbs for each of those fat little oinkers. that will be 6 grams today, and 6 tomorrow. I love sausage exponentially more than ham and bacon. of course, I will have my noodle free chicken soup as an obbligato. I was able to eat all the carrots in yesterday's soup BECAUSE it was my only source of carbs. I am going into annoying detail about carb calculation, because, in the past, I used to be so cavalier with my carb calculations, that ere long, I stopped losing, and then, started gaining. one year in particular, I put back over 60 lbs between Labor Day, and TG. Learn from my shortcomings. Enjoy summer day # 35, y'all! Love & Profits: FLAT(5 months till Christmas)FERENGHI

Chris, sorry about the headache. Hope it eases up quick!

FF, enjoy your home made Bayreuth festival, the 7 operas and salmon with spinach! You really know how to enjoy life!

Well getting back to super low carb is having the result I hoped for. Along with the fast five I am down 2 pounds today!

I had to eat something not on Stillman. That will make today's numbers 950 calories, 51 grams of fat, 124 protein, 3.5 carbs.

i changed my meal plan.

the diner kept putting ME on hold...ME, their best customer. so I ordered Chinese, instead. I am getting the House Special Soup, and a large and small order of ribs, no bbq sauce. as there are about a cup of mixed Chinese veggies, I will eschew the carrots. the soup IS my only source of carbs today. I will allow 10 grams of carbs just to be on the safe side. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

FF, I'm jealous of the restaurants near you!

The old man may have a kidney stone, symptoms are pointing to it, he still went to work but will call the doc when they open.

Six pounds gone in 2 days of very low/no carbs, low fat, low calorie. I've hit my 3% so today I will have a few more carbs, and I'm having cheese withdraw! Tomorrow I'll do a preview of the scale at work, just to make sure it's all kosher! Friday should get my $20 back and I'm hoping for some more.

Food today, eggs fried in bacon grease!! Chicken since I have so much left, cheese, a pickle if we have any. Dinner probably a salad.

congrats on dropping 6 lbs. chris!...that's gotta feel good!...hope hubby doesn't have a kidney stone, but if you suspect that, tell him to start drinking as much as he can stand and hopefully he will pass it...i've had three bouts with kidney stones in my life and when they get stuck in the wrong spot, the pain is memorable - that's all i'll say about that right now...drink, drink, drink!

ff, i'd love to be a fly on the wall of that chinese restaurant when they hang up the phone after taking your order! :-)

abs, congrats on the 2 lbs!...how's hubby feeling?...when does he go back to dhh?...

it's been a fun week around here...after sarah's party on saturday, we spent sunday afternoon at the stratham fair with emmy, sal and the kids...very cute!...worked monday and took yesterday off and em brought the kids over again and sarah called and got all of us to go peach picking at a beautiful farm in andover, ma that none of us had been to before...we were there for 3 1/2 hours as they had an ice cream stand and animals, so we indulged in those things as well...got to spend 3 days with sarah's fiance this week, which was nice...he really is a nice person and i enjoy hanging out with him...he's very easy going and sarah is so happy when she is with him, so that's been nice to see as well...

after peach-picking, we went to an italian restaurant for dinner...nice end to a week together...i have another free day today and plan to spend it alone as everyone is working...i've been trying to schedule long work days with more off days for the rest of the summer...not sure what i will do yet...maybe hand wash and wax the camaro and take it for a long drive?...

hope everyone has a great day!

Mmm peaches!

I've decided on a 3rd day of the Stillman, just to be safe. I can do it, although I may sneak in a slice of cheese!

Chris-i took some action on you...

from one of NYC's 5 families-Don CARBovanni. don't let me down. I love my kneecaps just the way they are. no pressure, of course. I had the soup last night with 1/2 the veggies. there were more than I thought. who ever thought I would feel about veggies like they were dessert? life sure is strange. also, I only ate the small order of ribs. it was enough. tomorrow I will eat the large order with some WF bbq sauce mixed in with some Chinese mustard. I just finished breakfast-the remainder of the tuna/egg salad- about 1/2 of a pint container, plus a few pork rinds. today's main meal of the day will be the noodle free chicken soup, and 4 mozzarella burgers(bunless, natch) topped with 1 tsp each marinara sauce from the weekend. I expect that will occur anytime after 5 PM. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

FF, your knees will be fine!

Looks like a kidney stone for the old man. He's at the ER right now. And told me not to leave work to go there! We'll see...

chris, i'm sorry to hear that...when the pain gets bad, you think you must be dying...i had a trip to the er last fall and the pain meds helped and the stone moved within a few hours...they will do a scan to see where it is and how big it is and hopefully he will pass it on his own...i've been lucky enough to have that happen the three times i've dealt with this...keep us posted

His insurance wouldn't approve a ct scan or any tests. Idiots! They sent him home with pain meds. He went back to work first. On his watch home he stretched a little and something in his back popped hard and loud. Says he feels much better now, no pain in the front, can breathe better too. What the crap!

They didn't diagnose it a kidney stone, did blood work and a urine check. That was their best guess without more testing. I told him go to the chiropractor. He slept much better last night, the drugs definitely helped.

i remember Cosmo Kramer had a kidney stone.

something I would not want to live through. I hope all goes well. I am getting my usual-broiled salmon with spinach sauted in butter and garlic. the pint container of chicken soup, no noodles; AND 2 bacon cheddar burgers (bunless), with a sunnyside up egg atop each. if that does not hold me till the morrow, I have some ribs and some cold cuts in the fridge. Kramer was such a dork

Today's food was chicken and tuna, I also had to have cottage cheese, and a double serving. I'm glad this is the last day of Stillman, I can't take another day. Tomorrow is no nothing until I weigh in. I took a sneak peek this morning and I've lost 4.08% I already have breakfast planned of a lc bagel with cream cheese and some bacon. I may even make a sammich out of it

wow, chris!!!!!!....that's awesome!...congrats - you've earned it!

ff, trust me, if you had a kidney stone, you'd want to live through it - you'd just want to be put into an induced coma until you passed it!...hahaha

just got back from the gym and had a great workout...i used a machine earlier in the week there that hurt my back...i took one aleve on wednesday and that seemed to do the trick...i'm not 100%, but close enough to it so that my workout was not affected...

haven't been to the doc in 2 years and they won't refill my bp prescriptions until i go in to get checked...been on the same pills for 14 years with no problem...i check my pressure every few days and it is always well-controlled...maybe i will make an appointment for mid-september...not ruining my summer!!! :-)

i may have to put my steak plans on the back burner.

although the temps here are high 70s to low 80s, the humidity inside the house is sucking all the energy out of me. my appetite is down, and i am drinking more water and ice cold beveridges. when it s crisper in here, i will come back to life. Happy summer day #38 y'all. Love & Profits: FLATFER

I got slap happy and we had steak, shrimp, ribs, baked taters, salad, asparagus, cheddar biscuits (from a box). Cheesecake for dessert. Don't worry, I ate too much and am miserable, but it was about 5 or 6 carbs. Plus a bite of slaw. It's all good

Good morning! I have absolutely no plans for this weekend except grocery shop. Upper 70's today, sunny, and breezy. The gun shop lady called yesterday, she has new toys in, I may mosey over and window shop. I wonder if she'll do layaway

Ham and cheese was breakfast. The old man bought plenty yesterday, so it may be a repeat. I'm trying to think of how to do those steaks, something different. I'm not a creative cook. I'll surf the net and see what I can find.

Have a good weekend!

Just got back from visiting DH at Dartmouth. Surgery yesterday was a long ordeal. It was scheduled for 11:30 and they were 3 hours late getting his started due to the surgery before his. I got to finally see him in recovery at 8pm and drove home in the dark with maybe 2 hours sleep at 10pm. Very exhausting. No skin graft but one long incision. I will not give you too much info this time but they haven't told him when he can come home yet and he will have to have radiation down the road.

Happy note, I didn't eat anything yesterday except 2 atkins bars I had stuck in my purse and so was down a pound today and my brother is in an art show at the hospital and got to see that.

Tony, Chris and FF, you all sound good. Hope your DH is ok Chris and so glad you got your $20 back!

I cubed the steak, tossed it in a baking dish with green and red peppers, fresh shrooms, carrots, and potatoes, smeared garlic butter on top and baked, salt and pepper too. Loaded baked cauli and asparagus. Yum! The herd liked it too, although the sliced taters didn't quite get all the way done. That's ok, I didn't eat them

And the old man is doing ok, went to the chiropractor, popped things here and there. He must not be too bad off, going fishing with his dad in a tournament tonight, midnight to 8am. Dorks.

Abigale, I hope hubby doesn't have a long stay!

abs, i didn't realize your hubby was due to have more surgery...was the previous surgery a biopsy?...that sounds like an exhausting day...you better take care of yourself...you are a rock everyone relies on...congrats on the loss, btw!

chris, i am guessing dh did not have a kidney stone...i hope not, anyway...

today was kalaia's bday - she turned 2...we had a great day...took her to a local playground that is amazing...kids' water park, picnic pavillion, massive playgrounds, sports fields and snack bar...spent a couple of hours there and then came home and had a nice bbq with emmy and our oldest son, his wife and our youngest son...

emmy and sarah and the kids will be here tomorrow to work out final details for a wedding shower this saturday for second son's fiance'...

hope everyone is doing well...

abs, keep us posted on hubby...

G'morning all.

Nope, no stone, just back out of whack. I heard how he attempted to sleep on the bus to Florida, no wonder he's in pain.

Food today will be leftovers, loaded cauliflower, pizza. There's plenty.

happy summer day #41.

my appetite was on leave. Saturday, & yesterday, and this a.m, i had a few pork rinds every few hours, just to have something in my system. my appetite IS returning. I WILL have a full meal today. at sundown begins the Jewish fast day Tisha b'Av, which will end at sundown tomorrow. tomorrow is also the KALENDAE AUGUSTAE the 1st day of August, AND the birthday of Claudius Caesar, the 4th Roman Emperor. If y'all want the poop on any Roman Emperor from Augustus to the last Roman Emperor 1453 a.d.(in the east), consult the website DIR (de imperatoribus romanis). this weather is sucking out all my energy. also, I have my perennial summer rashes. nothing helps. I just have to wait it out. oh, I have a question. when any of you saute or deep fry, what kind of oil do you use? i use grapeseed oil, because it is what I have. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

We use peanut oil eff.

Tony, Dartmouth removed the tumor two weeks ago and then Friday they did reconstruction on his face. My sister and bil brought him home today. It looks like I will be learning some new nursing techniques.
