FF? Lynn? Quite a few have been MIA for a while.

I restocked the goodie drawer at my desk. More k-cups for our new Keurig, tuna salad packs, generic Kool Aid thingys, sf seeds, cocoa almonds. Was that it? Plus there's still Brazil nuts and pork rinds.

Bacon and cheese was breakfast. Lunch will be tuna salad and pork rinds. Maybe sf seeds if needed. Dinner will be spinach lasagna.

It's Fend For Yourself Tuesday, but Thing 1 is going bowling with the old man, and Thing 2 joined the bowling team and has practice at a different alley. Why didn't Thing 1 join too you ask, he'd rather wrestle. And Thing 1 got his sports physical yesterday, 6'3.5"! He's 15!

I tried a new recipe tonight. It was for a LC pizza crust made with almond flour. It was decent, but I think I prefer the cauliflower crust even though it is more time consuming.

My favorite crust is Linda Sue' s deep dish pizza crust.

Sorry you hear you have the cooties FF, I hope you feel better soon.

And speaking of Linda Sue, here's her spinach lasagna, I added sliced zucchini and used Italian sausage instead of hamburger. Oh, and more cheese on top. Thing 2 even liked it.

my second son is getting married in 11 days...he was going to shop for a wedding band, and i offered him my dad's wedding band, which my mom had given to me years ago after my father died...he accepted it and is having it re-sized...my father never smet any of his 13 grandchildren, but would be happy his grandson will be wearing his ring...

Tony, the wedding band made me tear up! And I've had those plates for almost 30 years, they were in my Hopeless Chest, Mom's words. I'm down to 6 big plates and 3 saucers.

I slept good last night, went to bed early too. No clue on breakfast yet but lunch will be leftover spinach lasagna. I managed to control myself on the asparagus last night and will have that too with lunch. I could seriously eat asparagus as a meal!

Work will be busy, I have the first of the month checks to verify, sort, slap a third in envelopes, and sort again then file. Eighty-five clients, no clue on how many checks, I should count them to see.

Chris,I need to make that lasagna again! I could?d eat asparagus as a meal too if it is fresh and still a little crunchy with lots of butter and a little garlic.

Artemis, the fat head crust sounds pretty good too.

http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/sh...d.php?t=812515. It uses almond meal too, mozzarella, and cream cheese.

Tony, I love the thought of your son using his grandfather's wedding ring! I am looking forward to those 3 nights off too!

Abi, this is very similar to the one I made only except cream cheese it has olive oil. The crust by itself tastes very almond-y so I will put more toppings on next time if I make it again.

Chris, what is Linda Sue's recipe? Is there a link for it?

Pendraggin, nice to meet you! Glad you de-lurked!

looks like pen is lurking again!...hahaha...just teasing...

yeah, my dad died when he was only 44, unexpectedly from a heart attack...he was in shape and had quit smoking 10 years earlier, but an artery got blocked and that was it...he used to tell us how much he looked forward to being a grandfather...my mom was only 42 and never even dated after he died...i was the oldest of five kids at age 21, and my youngest sister was 14 and my mom focused on all of us for the rest of her life...it was sad after we had our kids, because every time there was a happy event with her grandchildren - a graduation, award ceremony, etc., she would always tear up thinking about how proud my dad would have been and how much he would loved to have been present...so, my son wearing my dad's ring is pretty special to me...

all this talk about crust is making me crave pizza...i wish you could buy the crust already made or that i lived close enough to you guys to steal some of yours...hahaha...

chris, the corelle plates are virtually indestructible...i think we may still have some in a box somewhere...they are awesome!

I'm not lurking! And I love the idea of your son wearing his grandfather's ring. It's so sad though that you lost your father so young. Do you still have your Mom?

I'm not back to lurking, but we've had a quiet few days here - one of our old kitties started quietly fading away and did breathe her last in my lap last evening. Darling Snickers.

I'll be back though. Good luck and good going to everyone!

Ok, am not a fan of almond and coconut flour on fried green tomatoes. Definitely needed real flour and corn meal!! I picked the breading off and ate the maters plain and I'm still hungry.

Work gave me a headache, new roof on my part, sounded like they were adding a 3rd floor. The old part of the building, with a working a/c, has the 5th and 6th floors empty. Why we just don't use those too is beyond me, we're already on 2-4.

The old man did well! He visited the Colonel for dinner, even brought grilled. But I'd seriously love the taters n gravy and biscuits!

Harvey made his way to Indiana and it's cold out! But I'd rather be cold than hot.

Work ended at 1:45 today, which was awesome. They don't want overtime, doesn't matter to me, adds to my 3 day weekend.

Was busy at work, didn't have time to eat, but I snacked on sf seeds. I made some cheese chips when I got home, just waiting on the old man so we can go out for dinner.

The in-laws are having a cook out Sunday, I'm taking broccoli salad and might make loaded baked cauliflower, I don't know yet.

Chris, it is 42 here this morning. Brrrr

Ff, know you are loving this weather. Good day to get in the kitchen and fire up that copper chef frying pan!

Tony, good night's sleep last night and two more to go this holiday weekend! yay

I miss my kitty too! Critters sure do grow on you, I'll probably always have one. I have the mutt at the moment, Black Lab/Heinz 57, he's my baby.

My only plan for today is the grocery, I seriously hate shopping. And I hate making out the menu even more!

I managed to sneak out and shopped alone, no kids wanting everything.

I love the smell of fresh mowed grass. And walking barefoot in it. But rolling in it, too many hugs

Bacon was breakfast, lunch will be shrimp scampi with shirataki noodles, dinner will be Mississippi pot roast and asparagus.

Plans for today, absolutely nothing!

Popping in to say "hey"! Tony I love that you gave the ring to your son and he accepted it. That is so sweet!

Pen, nice to meet you! I'm sorry about your kitty. I have three and they are all senior citizens. The oldest is 19...I'm not looking forward to the future with them, as these will be my last furbabies.

Abi, please keep us posted on your DH.

Hi Lynn, ff. Vicki and Chris! Have we heard from Tammy?

I started volunteering for Meals on Wheels in my retirement area. There was an hour orientation one day where we were told the how it worked and then last Tuesday I went out as a "runner" (the person who takes the food to the door and delivers it to the person). I then went out again on Thursday. I really like it and love to be able to walk and be active!!!! I've also started swimming. It's been so hot I've gone to the indoor pool, which is fine. I do need to get out more. I had my annual physical and I'm low in Vitamin D and Vitamin B. I'm on supplements. That isn't unusual for people who have had gastric bypass.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. TTFN

I ordered a pizza a couple of days ago. I ate everything but the crust. it was a Sicilian pie. it lasted 4 meal times. Happy summer day #77, y'all. still too warm on the premises to cook. I expect I will be able to start in Nov. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi all! The MIA gang need to check in!

I behaved Sunday at the Outback, didn't even order a Long Island like I had planned. And today I'm in a cooking mood, make it stop! I did deep fried wings, they were nice and crispy, garlic butter. Thing 2 had some and liked them. Then I got slap happy and did Linda Sue's spinach lasagna again for lunch the rest of the week.

I left work early, I got bad vibes from the work happening on the roof. I'm surprised the ceiling didn't fall in. I can't explain it, just had to leave, but only a few minutes early, I'll make it up.
