The BBQ went ok. Not perfect, but ok. I did have a small grilled hot dog, burnt, small, and shriveled so maybe all the fat burned away.... haha. I looked at the package and they had 120 cals and 7 grams fat. I also brought my deviled eggs which were mustard-heavy and only 2 tbsp light mayo in the batch of 12. Much to my delight there were also plain cocktail shrimp so all in all it went well and I didn't have to pretend to eat!

Otherwise I'm having a relaxing Sunday.. it's rainy out and I just took a little nap in the chair

I was anxious to see if anyone would eat them but yeah, half gone, I don't know whether they liked them or not. The hot dog sure was good though, I would've liked a couple more of those!

Happy Monday!!

Well I've made it through two days of pretty strict Stillman's. Yesterday was not as strict, given the hot dog, but still not bad. This ultra by the book stuff is not as easy as I thought.. lol. I used to reeeeaaaallly look forward to my breakfast of Greek yogurt and protein powder, now I don't even care about breakfast because I know it's going to be eggs with nothing yummy attached.. lol..

It's true what you say, Al, you know you're really hungry when you're willing to choke down a pouch of dry tuna.. haha.. I was wondering how it would be with mustard? My DH said his dad used to like to eat sardines and apparently they come in some kind of mustard sauce. He was telling me about how you'd just mash up the little fish heads with the mustard and everything and I almost barfed... I think that ruined tuna and mustard for me.. LOL

Today will be eggs and deli turkey I think. I don't have any cooked ground turkey anymore so at least that can't tempt me!

I need to get through the week and also work a double on Thursday, and then I can enjoy 5 days off. I think our plan will be to leave for Green Bay early Saturday morning, it's only about a 5 hour drive so we'll have most of that day with my mom, stay the night, then get up early Sunday morning to head down to Kentucky. Sunday will be the arc and Monday the creation museum. I read the kids the story of Noah's arc from the Bible last night, trying to get them prepped. lol. I kept looking over to see if they were still awake, I may have lost them during the part where it describes all the specific dimensions. I've heard the arc will likely take the entire day so we'll see that Sunday and Monday the creation museum? Then maybe stay a second night I'm thinking??? Perhaps we'll make the drive back Tuesday all in one shot.. it's about 750 miles I think.

Hmmmm what else.... no food landmines for a while now. DH's high school buddy is coming over Friday night for a BBQ but that will be easy because I can make my own food.

Need a little more 'go' juice.. I only slept 10-415 which is not horrible but not great either. Go juice.. haha.. I love that Jeanie!!

Hope you all have a rockin Monday!

That trip sounds so exciting Melissa! We drove 10 hours to KY a few weeks ago with 1 stop a few hours in, it was rough but it was doable with just 2 adults to consider, lol.
Sounds like you are doing great with the eating!

That's funny how we are both about 10 hours from Kentucky! I'm really excited about the Creation Museum, it looks cool!

Hi!!! I'm cooking up a meat storm!! 3.5 lb London broil in the instant pot, and 12 chicken thighs roasting. I'm soooo hungry...

My Dad used to eat those sardines too! I'm pretty sure he got me to try some. He would eat them right out of the tin, or throw it on a slice of white bread. Ewwwww lolol

That trip sounds awesome!!! So glad you are making the most of the summer!

My little guy got me up at 4am with a fever and tummy bug. I was so worried this was gonna change our plans this week but he bounced right back after he got it out of his system. Thank goodness!

I did all my shopping and laundry today, and tomorrow we will be taking a family hike/bike ride to the bluffs. The trail is about 3.5 miles round trip, so I'm thinking I'll probably be better on the bike. No matter what torture I go through to get there, I'm told the views of the water will be worth it!! lol

My go juice of choice today is iced tea! Just sitting here relaxing now while I wait for my food to be ready!!

Yum.. meat!!! I used to tell my older daughter 'Meat plus water equals success,' she thinks I'm so weird...she actually did Atkins of her own accord in 10th grade and lost 20 lbs so she knows about the magic of meat hhahaha

I peeked at the scale and it's looking goooood.. don't wanna jinx it by reporting yet though lol. I've only had 775 cals of eggs and turkey today.. I saw ppl from 9-4 and was too
busy to eat much.

I need to somehow pretend to eat cake tonight.. I don't want DD to be sad I'm not partaking.

Al, I'm glad your little guy bounced back quickly and that your trip is still a GO!

Hi friends! I've completed 3 days successfully with minimal deviations. I am getting bored of eggs.. lol

Last night DD7 wanted to go to Wendy's for her birthday dinner... I had a grilled chicken sandwich with no bun that the website said had 130 cals and 7 g fat, so that was not bad. I had been worried about the cake eating part of the night but that was not even an issue -- we sang happy birthday to her and she blew out a candle ('real' cake was Saturday) she was too full to eat more than one bite of her cake so she is saving it for tonight. Glad I dodged that bullet! It was buttercream frosting which is basically butter and sugar. I was trying to wash the silverware and could hardly get that greasy butter off my hands!!

So today is HB eggs and turkey (AGAIN), yeah it's boring but I do feel it's working!

My sleep kinda sucked last night... we went to bed at 10 but for some reason I couldn't fall asleep til around 10:30 or maybe later - I quit looking at the clock. DH is having a hellish work week again and getting up in the middle of the night (UGH). I try not to get annoyed because I know he doesn't like it either, but I sure do love it when he sleeps through the night!! He did get up at 3:30 today but I made myself sleep til about 5.

Yesterday was a long and busy day with clients from 9-4... my brain really felt fried. 3 more days and I will get a break.

Hope you all are doing well, it has been quiet around here lately!

Me too! Was hoping for lots of great news and meaty convo for my bedtime stories! Yes, it's 7:45 and I'm ready for bed... The bike ride pretty much killed me today. lol. I'm not so sure I'll be able to walk tomorrow. So embarrasssing. It's like every time I had to stop to walk it up a little hill someone was there!! Or the huffing and puffing and then some nice person tries to say hello and I'm like haah (breath only) back. Or I would just mouth "hi" in passing. Oh my... can't wait to start up my new workout routine once kids are in school and I get settled!

You are doing so great DL!! Resist all temptation!! Makin dreams happen!! Yay!! So happy for you! I know you will be rewarded.

My food plan was chicken thighs and the beef roast with Sriracha. I resisted Wendy's today. Not because I couldn't eat the burgers or chicken but because I'm really cheap. I can't pay for the sandwich and just have one patty. lol over the next few days I'll mostly be eating steak and burgers on the grill. Looking forward to it!!

I'll check in from the pools tomorrow, where I will most definitely be lounging!! I should have said I'm going "Glamping". No roughing it for me this time around. lol

Xoxo

Aww. I hope everyone checks in Melissa. Sadly, I have not been eating stillmanish for a couple of days and I am feeling it! Seeing your post saying that you think are losing after 3 strict days is awesome to hear! I will get my butt back to my plan tomorrow before I do too much damage. I am just in a funk with life crap, so I let things get sloppy.

Glad to hear from you ladies! I understand, Jeanie! I will probably loosen the rules on my trip and gain a couple anyway. Enjoy your lounging, Al!

Ok I know it's not official weigh-in day yet but i weighed this morning and I'm 124! I haven't seen that low in ages. I might even lose more
before Friday but I'm so excited I had to share!! The little add-ons I was enjoying before were definitely preventing me from seeing the true affect of the diet. I almost could not believe my eyes when I got on the scale today!

This diet really is amazing. For a stubborn loser like me it is a Godsend!

I almost feel like QWL is a fast. Enjoy your vacation no matter what!!
Thank you for this.

I had kinda forgotten that QWL is actually PSMF (psm fasting). I'm fasting now and feeling well but considering going back on some protein a la QWL starting tomorrow or Friday. I was a bit of a stillie failure but trying to look at it as having some experience. Maybe I can define and solve problems instead of giving up on the plan. (Baby vs bath water.)

My problems were headaches, dizziness, and depression.

1. Electrolytes were probably off balance. I need more sodium.
2. I was on antibiotics mid-July, first time in decades, and they may have affected me.
3. Hormones are changing but that is more of a REASON to lose pounds, not an excuse why I "can't."
4. Weighing myself every day has never been my thing. Very silly but I do get discouraged with upticks. But daily weight is not required.
5. My every day slow-running habit is well-established and enjoyable now. It is a tool to be well, not an excuse to be hungry.

Thanful you all are here and hoping a couple of the others will come back to share experiences too!

DL: congrats on 124! You earned it. It's real. I'm in awe!

Hi Amy!
I am glad you posted this. I have been dizzy too, especially when getting up from sitting. I had kind of forgotten about salt and I am thinking that probably has something to do with it. I've had a little bit of depression as well but I'm unsure if that's from the diet or just needing some days off from work...lol

I am glad your slow running is fun for you! I think the super low carb makes my running a bit harder as Al mentioned. I did run Tuesday but couldn't manage the pace I usually do. I think adding some carbs eventually should help with that, although many people tell me you can exercise for long periods once you've fat adapted. I guess that has just not been my experience. Glad to see you here again!!

Ok, I lost another pound yesterday. You guys, I should be thrilled but it's freaking me out a little bit. I got on the scale fully expecting a bit of a rebound but was another pound down. I ate 1225 cals yesterday and about 30 carbs.

You know that Stephen King book "Thinner" where the guy just keeps getting thinner and thinner?? Ok, I might be going a little crazy here I guess I just never saw such results and it's making me wonder if something is 'wrong' with me. Either I have some sickness, or the diet is working. LOL. I had a thought this morning before getting into the shower, what if I kept losing and losing until I was emaciated and could not gain?? Now that would be a twist on my life!! Of course that's not going to happen but is a symptom of my brain that questions and overthinks everything.

So yes I was 123 today so I've lost 3 lbs this week. Maybe that's just from getting strict and cutting out those things I mentioned before.

I have been dizzy and not feeling the greatest so I do think I need to start with upping my salt. I also wondered if maybe now that I've lost about 11 lbs that my thyroid is working better and possibly my meds are too high?? I have been on the same dose for almost 4 years and got on that dose around 144 lbs. I only go once a year to get checked now - last time I was 128 lb and my thyroid was in range. I haven't lost THAT much since then, so I don't know.

I slept horrible last night - DH was tossing and turning, it took forever to fall asleep, DD9 ended up in the room.. etc etc etc. When I got out of bed I felt very faint. DH got up at 4 a.m. which was a treat, yesterday he was up at 2:50! Luckily I did not get up then, but today I just got out of bed when he did... I was just wide awake all night it seemed. Now that I've been up and had coffee I feel better...

Anyway, I am cautiously optimistic that it's just the 'diet working.' Maybe because that has never really happened for me without tons of struggle and starving (which I haven't been doing) it's just hard to accept.

Off to eat some SUGAR LADEN deli ham for breakfast, because I am out of everything else- and I could use the salt. I will shop later today.

Hope you all have a great day!

Oy, I went into a mental weird place. Can you be rebellious with yourself? I just refused to do the plan for awhile. Nothing major, no gaining. I am on today. I fully prepped and gave myself a promise I can not break.

I had a wake up call when my daughter (13 yeas old) for the first time was publicly embarrassed to be seen with me. I remember when I was a teen how mortified I was when my friends saw how fat my mom was. I hated it. (Not my proudest moments)

I am 100% refocused and I WILL do an Aleria. I am not going off plan until I have lost my 50 pounds. I am excited to see how long it will take.

I quit smoking cold turkey 11 years ago. I know I have what it takes to do this.

For the record. I LOVE those little sardines in mustard sauce but the ones in the red spicy sauce is better. Hmmm wonder if they are carby. Might be a nice treat for me once in awhile.

DL Congrats on the loses!

I am going to bore you all with my menu each day.

Al, thanks for still hanging out with us!

Had 2 cups decaf coffee with 1/2 and 1/2
Breakfast-2 Eggs and a 1 breakfast sausage ( refuse to give up the sausage right now) Only yummy thing I get to eat.

Lunch- about 1 cup of ground turkey with a bit of mustard ( gave me the worst heart burn!)

Dinner will probably be shredded chicken (half breast half thigh) soup with some sriracha.

Might have a snack while watching tv with the hubs. We eat about a 1/2c of shelled sunflower seeds. It is about 3 or 4 carbs.

Bratty! It's so good to see you again. You sound really focused. I know what you mean about not wanting to give certain things up...sausage is one of the simple pleasures in life..lol. I stayed off sugarless gum for one day and that was all

I'm excited to watch your progress!

Happy Friday!

I weighed this morning and no apparently I am not turning into the "Thinner" man. HA! It bounced up a slight bit to 123.6 but that's still 2.4 lost for the week. Yesterday I was putting on a bunch of clothes that 'technically' fit before, but now they look a lot better and I might actually be able to wear them in public. I will take it!!!

I was feeling horrible the past couple of days, it started Wednesday with very intense ringing in my ears that went on all day and night. I couldn't figure out what it was because I hadn't subjected myself to anything loud -- I just kept hoping it would go away. Thursday morning it had NOT gone away and I started thinking I might have an ear infection. Also when I got out of bed yesterday I felt extremely weak and kinda fell onto the floor.. not really fainted but my legs buckled sorta. My daughter had been in bed with us and watched this happen and was like alarmed.. "Mom! Are you ok??" Of course right away I blamed low blood sugar or not eating enough or whatever and went downstairs and did more internet searching. I found out that tinnitus can be caused by low potassium and magnesium and I was like, "AHA!"

I realized I had not been consuming hardly any potassium, sodium, or magnesium since I started the 'hard core' Stillman plan about a week ago. I had some salt water and potassium supplement right away after reading that, along with some salty ham and felt almost instantly better. So I am paying attention to my electrolytes and not letting that happen again!

I am kinda surprised DH has not noticed my weight loss. Maybe I just look the same at 135 and 123??? I mean, I feel it is noticeable. He sees me everyday, though...maybe that's why. I don't wanna parade around bragging about it either because he has been wanting to drop a few pounds and has not been able to exercise this week due to his hellish work schedule. He also is not into most of the stuff I do (dietwise, I mean) and I don't wanna get preachy. LOL

Today I have to work for a few hours and then later today DH's high school buddy and his daughter are coming over for a BBQ. We need to get everything ready for our big road trip too. I am super excited and hoping I can get things done at work in an efficient manner and then SHUT OFF the work part of my brain!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend -- I will be checking in via phone and I'll wave to you bratty when I'm in northern Kentucky!

I stayed on plan yesterday. w00t!
It was so hot yesterday I think I lost 5 pounds just in sweat. We hauled off a million boxes from the garage to the recycling center and cleaned out spider mansion. (our shed) Today I plan to be mostly lazy. Our local high school has their first home game tonight so we are going to that.

I have to have a sugarless gum once in awhile. Ketosis makes my mouth feel bleh. Maybe one piece a few times a week.

I'm sure he notices. I would think that much would show. He's probably afraid to say something cause you might make him eat Stillman.
My hubby is doing this with me but I doubt he will stay on without a cheat for more than a couple weeks.

I have horrible symptoms if I don't take my magnesium and potassium, even when I am not on plan. It keeps my heart palpitations to a minimum. If I am on plan and not taking them, I can add night time charlie horses and a minor vertigo feeling that never goes away. I take the 99mg potassium and 250 of magnesium, plus a multi and biotin.

You will get in the game when you are ready. Sometimes it is just really hard to commit mentally. I couldn't do it last week. I am happy you are still posting. Don't disappear on us.

Congrats with staying on plan, bratty. I probably have 3 sticks of gum per DAY. I should probably cut back on that.

I was getting the minor vertigo, too. Very annoying. It's much better today.

Jeanie, we love you. You're the one LCF who has stood by me this whole time, through lots of different plans! Don't you even think of going anywhere!

I had some 'deviations' today. Breakfast was venti cold brew with cream. I hadn't had that in like a week. Lunch was Arby's without the bun and a bag of Quest protein chips (4 carbs). Then I also had a McDonald's sugar free vanilla iced coffee. I think it was ok after I'd been so strict for 6 days.

Tomorrow I will get back to business. I am not using my vacation to screw up and gain a bunch of weight back. I am going to do a similar thing as when we went to Chicago, I will bring HB eggs and ground turkey.. oh and tuna pouches. LOL. If we go out to eat I will probably get steak or something but I will try to avoid the gas station food and keep fast food limited... bunless burgers of course. It will likely be higher fat but if I can maintain I am ok with that.

DH was such a freak when I got home from work. He had been calling all over the universe and NO solar eclipse glasses to be found. I guess I never gave it much thought! I foolishly thought we'd just pick some up at a gas station or something.. haha... boy was I a fool! Anyway, he said he called like 50 places and nobody had any, however he found out they did have some at the library only they were only giving out one per family. So he shuffled me into the car as soon as I got home to go and get those, DH, DD9 and I went in separately and got a pair. I didn't want to send DD7 in alone so DH paid some kid $20 to go and get us a fourth pair of glasses... lol.. He was so adamant that we all have our OWN pair. I didn't care. We could've shared one pair as far as I was concerned. He was all triumphant as we left the library with our ill-gotten glasses...hahaha. Apparently other people were doing it too and saying they were getting them for neighbors or whatnot. Anyway, we are in MN and people here will only be able to see it partially -- since I'm going to Kentucky where there is totality you can bet your boots I don't want to miss seeing it in all its glory!

I am tired.. and not really feeling DH's buddy coming over tonight.. he is quite the talker. lol. I hope he leaves early so we can get to bed at a decent time.
