Ladies
I did better yeaterday and lost 1.4 of my gain but I am far removed from even a stillman-ish way of eating! I just don't know if I have it in me anymore!?

You can do it again. Maybe you just need a break. I had a pork chop before the concert last night and when we left I got a gyro without sauce- I only ate the meat and not the pita thing, not exactly stilllman but at least it wasn't a funnel cake or mini donuts! Congrats on the loss!

Well I came back 4 lbs higher but it's only water, my hands are so puffy. Dump all that water in the next couple days then on to new losses with no outings or special plans for a few weeks. Should be able to make some good progress. Hope everyone had a great weekend

Well, my eating wasn't that great today. Not great, not horrible. I started out strong.... Scrambled eggs for breakfast, same for lunch, and then I got into my gluten free bread and had a little peanut butter on it. I haven't had peanut butter forever and it was soooo good. I had 2 slices of that and also a generous amount of nuts for dinner.

TOM arrived yesterday and it was reeeeallllly miserable. I took the girls to swimming and got super nauseous.. it's so hot in the pool area and I had horrible cramps and thought I was going to vomit. Well, that was yesterday morning. We had our BBQ with 15 people total, I was really good with my eating and avoided all treats and stuff I should've have, although I did allow myself veggies and dip.

I have finally gotten myself into the mindset that there are just some things I cannot have ONE of (same way I cannot have one beer) and I need to avoid them like the plague. I stayed away from all stuff like chips, cupcakes, eclairs, and cookies -- so that was a success.

I ended today at 1900 cals and 80 carbs which is higher than my usual, but I am starting to think if I can do strict Stillman's M-Fri and allow myself a little flexibility on the weekends, I will be ok. I don't think I can just do it endlessly day after day with nothing to look forward to.

OK! Time to buckle down. I am staying focused til my weigh in Friday.

So if gluten free bread and nuts are the worst of my deviations, I guess that's not SO bad.

Less restrictive weekends sounds like a great plan Melissa!

I am back up to 132 and don't seem to really care? I mean I do care but my clothes still fit so I can kid myself it is water, lol!

I do need to plan something I can live with!

Yes I get that way sometimes too.. with my coffee consumption as well. Lol sometimes I think 'man I really need to cut back, this is getting out of hand' and then at other times I just dont care.

I still think 132 is great and you look good at that weight, so maybe don't stress too much about it!

Half the water weight gone with one day back on stills. Finished up the chicken yesterday and had shrimp for dinner. Today I will finish up some steak and meatballs and I took some fish out.

I like the stills during the week and higher fat on the weekends idea. I think it makes this more bearable. I'm a long ways from being able to do that, but there will be a day I consider it too. When I fall into the nut bowl I consider that a win, it could be so much worse.

Are we missing a lot of stillmanites?

I've been hard pressed to find a very active thread to help keep me motivated, although I do love all the ladies here when they're able to check in

I've been reading back on old stillmans threads. Just for tips and tricks I've forgotten and inspiration. And all through every thread, everyone repeats that just a couple bites sets you back a couple days. But if you hardcore it, it's amazingly fast. So i sure am trying to be very strict. I know I did it before but I believe it was before the purge. So all my old stats are gone for that time. I wish I could see them, what I was eating. I have a feeling I was doing more eggs and fish. I remember tuna with mustard and the thought of it now just turns my stomach. I'm planning fish for dinner and it does not have me excited.

We all need to stick together with so few of us in here. I will be here for you guys. My goal for the next month is to rock one of those magical 20 lbs in 4 weeks a lot of the old threads talk about. I have a lot to lose it may be quite possible for me.

I would love to get this thread going again Michelle. I admit to not being strict stillmans, but more of a lower fat higher protein eater. I would say my carbs were probably no more than 30 grams daily, if that. I lost about 8 lbs in a couple of weeks but have been off the wagon the last two weeks or so and have gained a few back. I think Melissa had better losses with being more strict and I know she is still posting as well

Yes I'd like to get it going too!! I'm really motivated at the moment. Just eggs today so far. My 45th birthday is coming up in November and I'd like to be in the best shape of my life by then. That's going to involve me being strict and also staying committed to my new workout DVDs which hopefully will be here by the end of the day tomorrow!

I'm on for strict, I'm with you guys! Jeanie you can do it however you want, you know that, we are just happy to have you with us. We will keep stillmans alive and I'm sure others will come back for tune-ups. Ooh I like that "tune-ups". And new people to give it a try. I know it works and that's what I need right now, quick results, that will keep me going better for the long haul. Hopefully some stillmans pro's pop in too. Going to go read some more old threads, really is motivating....

Good morning everyone! Yesterday went well. I ended the day with 1280 cals and 41 carbs. I ate turkey, a few slices of lean deli ham, and eggs, eggs, and more eggs. Most of my carbs come from sugarless gum and almond creamer so I could probably whittle that down a lot.

I'm trying to cut back on the coffee, too. Yesterday I didn't have any after 12. That probably sounds normal for most people, but for me it is not. LOL. I had to take the kids to the doctor for school physicals - we got there at 4:30 for our appointment and he was running an HOUR late. Urrrghh. What do people do while sitting in waiting rooms??? Drink coffee, of course. Well, I didn't have any. We finally got out around 6:45 and I'd promised Grems we'd go get her ears (re) pierced - she had them done like 1.5 years ago but kept getting infections in one ear probably due to cheap metals so we ended up letting them close. ANYWAY, the last thing I wanted to do after working all day and then spending two hours in a waiting room was go to the mall --- but I had promised, so we went. My brain said, "stop and get a coffee" you see that's a big part of my problem, I use it for motivation and to get myself to 'do things,' "GO JUICE" as Jeanie calls it, lol.

I bypassed Starbucks and also didn't get anything at the mall which was another opportunity (COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE)so I consider that a win in my book -- I think I slept better last night because it, too.

So, baby steps. Quitting the coffee by noon and then work from there.

According to postal tracking my Piyo DVDS should get here today!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I finally today am giving up my last high fat item... hwc in my coffee. I never used more than 2 tbls for all my morning coffee and it has always been accounted for. I used to use unsweetened almond milk and it was fine but oh my this cup of coffee is pretty gross, I am so used to the hwc, it sure tasted better. So yuck. I cut the last cord but I'm not happy about it! I will get used to it. It's probably going to force me to cut my coffee consumption though.

I am 1 lb away from where I left off Friday! Yay then just a couple more to get to 220 where I left off in April. Happy I didn't let it get out of control all summer. Hoping with strict stillmans I can be there by this weekend.

Was seriously hungry last night, wasn't going to be able to sleep without eating something. So I have some emergency all beef hot dogs in the fridge so I had one. Had plenty of room in my macros, calories included. In fact that dog pushed me into acceptable calorie range. I didn't realize I was so low. Too busy yesterday and didn't pay attention other than to input all my food. I think I'm still holding some water, going to push more water today.

I have no idea what is on my menu. DH picked up a ham steak, looks pretty darn lean, so it's just the high salt in ham that might do me in. Maybe if I eat it earlier in the day and not for dinner I can get lots of water in after. Throw some in some eggs for late breakfast might keep me all the way till dinner, since the kids want DH to grill up some burgers. Was thinking that it's about impossible for me to eat a burger without Mayo but if I take my yogurt and put sriracha in it, it might be close enough to sriracha Mayo? I'm going to try it. Love sriracha mayo. Anyone tried it with no fat Greek yogurt?

I'll check up on you guys later! Keep on truckin'!

Had to go back and get another coffee around 11, was still not good. I can go 3-4 days with no coffee but then I drink a few cups a day for 3-4 days. Then it bugs my tummy again.

Is it a certain time you want to drink coffee to or a certain amount the body/brain wants? I guess depending on that would determine how I wanted to cut down if I was trying to cut coffee. Do you think it affects your weight Loss?

So far so good today! Glad everyone is checking in!

I think it's totally habitual and a way to reward myself. I had a break at 1 with no client and immediately my brain thinks i need to go get a coffee. It's part of the act of leaving the office too, because if I don't physically leave, I'll invariably be interrupted.. lol. I think I need to go out and forage for something else!!

And no I don't think it affects my weight loss one way or the other- I've quit many times for 1-6 months and don't see it affecting weight, although there are some benefits.

Otherwise eating is good - I'm not hungry and only at like 400 cals so far. Glad they're going well for you too Michelle !

How's our Jeanie doing?

So far so good! Chicken, hard boiled egg, deli ham roll up with lowfat mayo and spicy brown mustard and a fat free greek yogurt. Not easy though watching dh eat pizza, the melted cheese smelled sooo good!

I did have a mcd's large diet coke, just enough go juice in that to pep me up for a bit

I made that sriracha "Mayo" with non fat Greek yogurt. I can handle that on my burger! So that will keep me out of the mayo and the ketchup for my burger, which means no sugar or carbs or fat added to my totals just with condiments. Yay! That's a great accomplishment for me. I've never stayed out of the ketchup doing any low carb plan. Glad you guys are doing great today, I'll come check in back in the morning....

Great job, girls! I'm ending the day at 1135 cals and 24 carbs. I'm trying to wait til Fri to weigh but I have a habit of peeking at the scale on Wednesdays if I have TSF.. (that skinny feeling!) felt pretty good today and I did have that coffee at 1:30 but nothing after. I bought some Cameron's decaf to try.

Sitting here drinking dandelion tea and watching Shark Tank. My Piyo DVDs came and I plan to start it 9/1!!!!

Sounds like you both had a great day! Maybe I will be inspired to throw in some stricter days

I know I am back on track when my magnesium and benadryl at bedtime do not help me sleep

Hey! Sorry about the sleep, Jeanie. I've been sleeping a bit better. I had been taking my thyroid meds at night for a while and finally figured out that may be the reason why I'd wake up at 2 or 3 every single night.

I'm getting bored of the food... lol.. how many ways can you eat an egg? I guess that's my go-to because they're cheap, easy, and portable. Hopefully we will grill some good things this weekend!

Have a great day all.

Sitting here drinking dandelion tea and watching Shark Tank. My Piyo DVDs came and I plan to start it 9/1!!!!
I have to weight every day, luckily the little bounces don't bother me, I'm fully aware that what I ate just yesterday isn't the be all and end all of why a little bounce could be on the scale today. Still my naked butt is standing on it every morning. so good for you not weighing but once a week besides a little "preview peek"!

Oh I hear ya girlie. Last night was the first good sleep I have gotten. Ketosis has been waking me at 5:45, 6:00, even 4:45 one morning but I did manage to go back to sleep a couple hours later that day. I slept till 8:30 today. Can't tell you how elated I am. To me that's the worst part to get over. Does it settle down for you after a week?

Rest today, that's an order. But instead of dragging butt today for me I am finally going to get stuff done!

Great night, on plan, day looks clear to stay on plan today. I hope I stay in this groove cause I'm feeling really good and determined. Don't see any reason to let anything get in my way right now. No one else's bday or bad day or anyone else's stress is reason for me to destroy what I am working towards. Now gotta keep that front and center. I told the DH and the girls this is my time, you people are grown adults. I am going to be absolutely selfish about this, I spent the last 25 years taking care of you now get outta my way

And this is what they all looked like...

It's going to be another great on plan day!

Sorry for the lack of posting. I guess I wasn't done with my rebellion of stillman. I have been back on plan for a couple days now and I feel great. I have to lose 7 pounds to get back to where I was though.
I am back! That is what counts.

deanslist I just wanted to congratulate you on your sobriety. I saw you posted that several days ago. I am sure it was one of the hardest things you have ever done.
I am starting to think like you. There are some things I just can not have because I can not stop at just one serving. Just like I can't have just one cigarette. (I quit 10 years ago, cold turkey)

I know those looks! Keep up the good work. You and I are close in weight if your current stats are accurate.

So good to see you bratty!! LOL@ 'rebellion of Stillman.' Glad you are back to feeling great!

Thank you for the kind words about my sobriety. I had a drinking problem way back when I was a teen...I started having blackouts when I was 15. I didn't drink daily or anything (never really have-- it was just what would happen when I DID do it) it was always bingeing and out of control. Someone once said "she gets crazier and crazier with every sip' and I don't think a truer statement has ever been spoken

I quit drinking when I was 26 after a long series of bad decisions, that lasted 18 months until I convinced myself I was fit for 'controlled drinking.' (delusional). So from 28-30 I relapsed about six times. I guess that's when it was 'hard.' I wanted to stop, but kept falling back into it. My dad died of liver failure in 2002 and after that I experienced a steep progression. I'd only drink every 1-2 months but whenever I did, it was terrible, out of control, miserable. the last time I drank was 2003 at the state fair... I was totally blacked out and falling all over the place, fell down the cement stairs, pending detox admit.. etc etc etc. The memory of that night has NEVER left me, thank God, and I hope it never does. I know what I'm capable of and where I've been, and I'm always at risk if I decide to 'alter my consciousness' again.

Since then though, (the past 14 years), it has been surprisingly EASY to not drink! I think that surprises people. I don't struggle, crave, or miss it. Even if others want to drink around me, or I'm at events (such as concerts, where people are always drinking/drunk) I don't care.

I think when I surrendered and became intentional, everything changed. Oh yeah, and God had a whole lot to do with it too

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, but aside from my family and relationship with God, it's the thing (sobriety) that's most important to me.

OH! Here I am all talking about myself.. congrats on quitting smoking! I have heard that is the toughest addiction, because nicotine has both a stimulant and relaxant affect on the brain. Luckily for me I only chain smoked when I drank, so when I quit that, smoking went too.
