Not looking like I'm going to hit my goal of 10 pounds, but I'm ok with that because I'm still moving in the right direction.

I plotted out my weight versus body fat percentage for this month. It's kind of interesting to look at the chart. There are points where my weight is dropping, but my body fat percentage is going up. So I'm theorizing that means the weight I was losing wasn't fat. Then you can see my weight kind of flatten out, but my body fat percentage dropping, almost like it's catching back up. It's fun to look at this data!

I'm telling you. In order to be able to maintain real life, I've GOT to learn how to cheat and not let it snowball. I'm not going to be without delicious treats for the rest of my life. That's just not realistic. So, don't think I'm not being faithful to you guys or this group, I'm just being real. And YOU get to watch it unfold!

Good words Terri!

Busy Grandpa-ing today. I'll weigh in later and post this afternoon.

So I went shopping yesterday. Be warned, longish story ahead.

I have donated a lot of clothes over the past few weeks as I realized how ridiculous some of my stuff was starting to look, but I've been trying to make do with some of my "back of the closet, hidden away when I got too big for them" clothes. However, I had no jeans. I try to mostly do thrift shops for money reasons, but I had purchased a pair of new jeans last fall which I loved (size 20), and they did not fit me anymore. The same style is back this year so I thought I would go get myself a pair of size 18s, even knowing that I hoped they would not fit for long.

When I went in, I tried on the 18s, and the sales associate assisting me told me, those don't fit. And when I really looked, they didn't, they were too big. So I am now the proud owner of a pair of size 16 jeans that cost too much money, a little tight for now, but not to be soon. And money be damned, I also bought a pair of size 14s, just so that I have them for later this winter.

Thanks, Stan! I haven't bounced, so hopefully it will stay off. I think it was glycogen stores from my previous over-indulgence. I'd like to lose faster, but I hit weak spells, and you're right about 4 lbs a month resulting in a 50 lb. loss in a year (rounding up). My one year anniversary starting this most recent fitness journey is coming up after Thanksgiving. While more of a loss would have been great, being down 50 lbs from last Thanksgiving is pretty great, too!
Terri, I have been good, but not really, really good. I think I avoided the bounce because I had a short fast and didn't lose a huge amount. Mainly I wanted to get back on track since I had played fast and loose with the carb eating and my carb cravings were very high. The Fast 48 nipped that in the butt.
Shannon your numbers look great. I easily gain 5-13 lbs when I'm struggling.
Kim, I keep saying the same thing, WOW! Nice work.
Cindy, me too! I do pretty well when I gear up in the last 10 days of the month. Let's do it!
Bronwyn, Nice!
Lauracongrats on the 16s!!!
Ang,I should start reading before bed. My drug of choice lately is turning on my mini dvd player and listening to Downton Abbey, but I have several books I've been waiting to start.
Michael, great job getting started with the running. I used to do 3 miles every other day, but that was 30 years and two births ago.
Happy Friday, everyone!

Gregsgirl, awesome job on not having the dessert. Having off plan foods for some is doable, for others are not. If it's just one meal and you can stick to it then as long as you can handle the temporary stall or gain for a few days it isn't the end of the world. Unfortunately for some one meals leads to a week off plan, everyone is different. Since you are just getting going now and doing great no point in tempting fate! That being said, I don't make LC desserts because I have an awful sweet tooth and portion control issues at times so safer for me to only make single serve treats. I do like whipped cream mixed with set jello with a little sweetener, all mixed up. Yummy fluffy clouds of sweetness. But I only make like one serving at a time. I would eat a whole giant bowl.

Laura, yay for 16s! I still have plenty of clothing to shop in my deep dark closet but I get excited when I finally fit something I bought on sale thinking if only I could just lose xx pounds this would look great. Sad thing is some of the things don't look good once I fit them and go straight to donation with tags on. I'm looking forward to being 'normal' sized again so I can shop thrift stores while dropping through the sizes. For now I thank myself past self for being a clothing hoarder and my dad for lending me his belt hole puncher.

I obsessively have been trying on my winter jackets as I've been losing weight, looking forward to getting into one for the winter instead of freezing my fat tush off whist wearing a heavy duty rain jacket all winter again. So far I had definitely got the first one to fit, nothing exciting it was a 3x that was tight on hips and arms last year. It's one of those light, packs into a tiny bag type from Costco. I was happy about that. Yesterday I realized I can now get into my crappy Walmart winter jacket that is a 2x and it isn't tight on my arms or hips and I'm good to go. Even better! Now I'm eyeing up my JoeFresh XL 3/4 length winter jacket. I loved that jacket but last wore it the winter before I got pregnant with the twins. I can get it on, the arms are a bit snug and I definitely wouldn't want to zip it up yet.. but it's on the radar and I'm looking forward to fitting it maybe mid winter. Yay! Now to go crochet some new hats and scarves for the winter.. current jacket I can fit is a totally different colour that last year and nothing goes.

Laura - I did the same thing, went in to buy a pair of size 18 jeans and came out with 2 pairs of size 16. Amazing to me that my body is changing even though I'm not losing.

Terri - I totally agree. For me to last on the WOE I need to be able to eat off plan occasionally. When I'm in a good place this totally works for me. When I'm stressed, like lately, this snowballs into unplanned cheats :/ Oh well, I keep getting back on that horse!!

Lylotte - I use clothes to gauge my loss. I just tried on pants that were too tight in the summer and now fit great. All of my winter jackets are too big but I decided to just live with them and buy new ones next year when hopefully they will be WAY too big for me. lol.
