AMAZING APRIL WEIGHTLOSS CHALLENGE

Hi..

A day later and a dollar short..LOL.

Sandy, our good friend's son is going to KSU and major in Mechanical Engineering, so he will be using Fred's building..Yeah!!

Glen did fine..Has a catheter on his side for a week..Fun, but he will get along fine. No other cancer, so that is good.

Anyone watching OU???

Gosh. OU played terribly as did Syracuse. I think NC will take the championship.

We are still windy here.... Stop it! Dh and I might go walk around the zoo and check out the new bears.

Have a happy Sunday!!

Supposed to get to 81 here in Dallas today, hope it is warming up for you Sandy.

I am no help to any of you when it comes to sports watching.

Judy, hair all done and beautiful?

Off to an appointment at 3 and some shopping this afternoon. Must get food in house before Grant comes . Gees I will go to target, I seldom shop there but it will be in my path!

Beautiful spring day

Food for Grant...very important..

Yes, it is a gorgeous day today. Walked a bit at the gym and a bit outside for the sun.

At Dillons, I bought some Jay Robb chocolate whey powder..So, I am having a shake for lunch. I did add a couple of Tbs. of cream to help it last until dinner.

I am sure it is heating up for Sandy...Texas always comes through in the summer.

Laundry today...We don't have very much at all since dh retired.

Hugs all around.

Went to a very long and meaningful memorial service.
The woman was our choir director for 8 years, about 20 years ago. Very good friends with my mom and I loved her, too.

She was 85 years old and had the whipple procedure, as my mom did at 85 (who is now 87). She just didn't survive it.

On the Tuesday before she died only a few days later, she looked as good as she always did. She knew she was going to die, and was ready. Tired of feeling bad, she was ready to go. She'd lived a life of service and was blessed with joy and love all around.

Since she was choir director at our church, our choir was invited to sing with First Presby downtown. Gosh that is a beautiful church.
She was all music, that was her worship. So a great deal of the service was music.

They have an organ that makes you fall to your knees and the man who plays it (Ron Pederson) also played the beautiful organ at my SS and BIL's wedding a million years ago. He's an artist. This was a treat for the ears and I was moved to tears many times.

The minister said that, as at the Easter service, the last part of the service would not be words, but would be music. The organist played Tocatta from Symphony No. 5, as he did at Easter. It was so moving.

And then I met a little girl (age 41) at Lowe's. She had been wearing her boot for her broken metatarsal for 10 WEEKS!!!!! Whaaaat????

The funny thing is, I thought we were near the same age.
I thought she looked familiar, told her where I went to high school, said I graduated in 1976, went to OSU... she stopped me and said, "I was born in 1975."
BAH HA HA HAH AH HAHA!

I flatter myself.

It really is a sweet celebration when a saint goes to heaven.

Funny exchange with that youngster.

What a beautiful service! I'm sure she would have been so pleased with all that beautiful music.

Lol! Judy, you do look young!!! When do you go back to the doctor for your foot?

I haven't seen Sandy in her bathing suit yet...Maybe it didn't warm up that much.

Off to exercise.

I am just laughing at myself. I don't think the 41-year-old thought I look the way I think I look! Lol

I meet my orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

I bet it's warmer for Sandy. They sure look like they're having good luck fishing!
We're supposed to get a cold front tonight. Hope it doesn't dip too far south.

Hair cut this am, now I am self=coloring my hair..LOL.

Brr...a little nippy.

My weight is 154..My body likes it..I don't like it.

Another LCF kitty, Baxter went to heaven yesterday. He was a diabetic, too and Carbonation's precious kitty. I'm sure Alex and Baxter are chatting up there.

I am sorry to hear about Baxter. It's so hard to lose a pet.

I am happy enough with 154. What's wrong with me? LOL
I am about to break my fast these few minutes after 4 PM with a little snack. I do it very well most days, but not every day. I woke up hungry yesterday and decided that day I would start with lunch. Miraculously didn't over-eat.

Went to the ortho. I'll be wearing this boot for 3 more weeks, then another x-ray. It doesn't hurt, so I'll be fine.

As always, another week is flying by.

Grant is here, Mema wishes she could do more for him. He had me get him up at 5:30, had to be at school at 7. He worked tonight so did not get home until 9:00. Still had to eat and now doing homework. Said he had kind of a bad day, didn't do as well as he hoped on an English test, made a couple of errors at work so his manager got on him, now doing homework and it is almost 11:30. . He doesn't have to work tomorrow night so maybe he can catch up. I am ready for bed but don't want to leave him up alone, poor guy.

Cleaned out a couple of drawers, more stuff to toss and give away.

Got some new summer sandals, made by Ecco, super comfy. Not sexy by any means but not too bad. Each step makes them worthy.

Grant will be home after study group tomorrow night so going to make a meatloaf, some veggies. He has a healthy appetite, more so than DH and I these days.

I have been draggy this week, hope it goes away. Looks like Sandy, her DH and father are having a good time.

Yay for cleaning out the drawers Buffy.
Sorry you lost your kitty Carolyn. Thanks also for the info.
Sandy's looking great in Mexico!

Grant is just exceptional. But he's making me tired just listening to all he does!
So nice you two have such a wonderful bond. Meatloaf is a great idea! He no doubt appreciates all you do and how much you love him.
Hope you get some energy back soon. Maybe not getting up at 5:30 will help?

Hi ladies,

Poor Grant...balancing work and school is hard to do. Hope he can rest up on the weekends. Making mistakes and learning from them is a good thing. If you never try anything new, you will never make mistakes and never learn.

Ladies coming tomorrow. I'll make a quick bread out of the lemon poppy seed muffin mix I get at Netrition. Then I'll get some fruit. Dh is in charge of vacuuming upstairs.

Another windy day...Buffy, are you having the winds that we are???

Check in later.

Made a cream cheese poundcake from Trim Healthy Mama's site..Very nice with berries..
or made into a trifle or eaten plain.

I got some Adapt A Bars from Dr. Westman's site. There are 15, 100 calorie bars with 80 calories of fat in them. Not terribly sweet, but would be good with coffee. I got the chocolate and the berry (can't taste the berries).

Hope you are all doing well..

Our gas drillers at the farm, PostRock went out of business..Are you familiar with them, Judy?

I'm actually not very familiar with many drillers.
I'm at the beginning of that food chain. Once wells are proposed or drills, I am still only concerned with title.

IF I'M WORKING, THAT IS!

I'm kind of working harder at finding work. Thank goodness DH is working diligently!

My friends were so kind this a.m. about Alex..He loved this group of ladies, too..He always smelled their feet, then settled down listening to our exciting conversation..LOL..

Think I'll make a salad tonight. Need to boil some eggs..

Tomorrow we are going to the National Fiddle Convention..Don't be jealous. it is in Memorial Hall. Should be great entertainment..I hope people bought tickets..i was surprised it was held here, but Jim Halsey has a lot of pull in the big entertainment circles.
