Sub-50 carbs a day, does it matter where those carbs come from?

I went from 195 to 180 in my first month on the diet, but in the second month I fell off the wagon and had a load of stopping and restarting. I'm back up to 185, and feel like I've wasted a month. In the last week I tried sub-100 carb but only getting the carbs from specific nutrient-rich vegetables and I'm pretty sure I only lost a few pounds from water weigh. So now I'd like to go back to sub-50carbs a day like in the first month and just not care about where the carbs come from. I'd love to abandon the micro-management of having to find the best source of carbs from all these exotic vegetables. Sometimes when I'm out and about it seems impossible to get a low carb lunch that doesn't have grain and sometimes we don't even have anything low-carb in the house. So being able to buy a 42 carb sandwich or wrap from the shop would be the easiest option.

I plan on staying low carb for a long time, but my short term goal is to get into the low 170 pound's around the end of august/beginning of September.

Well, that documentary called "Fathead" showed the man eating fast food with the bread once in a while. I think you could do it but simply counting total carbs and see how it goes. It's worth a shot. I know how hard it is to keep falling off the wagon and then climbing back on, with less enthusiasm each time.

total carb intake is less than 20/day most days less than 10...and i cant lose weight.

but i am diabetic, so my metabolism is shot to begin with
