Happy May Day! Does anyone make May baskets??

I was 153 this am. After flirting with 155, I'm happy in a small way.

I used to make May baskets as a young girl. My sister and I would put them on our neighbors' doors.

Thanks for starting us, Carolyn!

We had a little neighbor girl who would always make us a May basket. She's now in her 30s with a child of her own and I'd bet $$ she still does May baskets with him.

Hi gals..

Dh is taking me out for dinner in Tulsa on our anniversary Friday night. 3 choices he looked up...Chalkboard, Villa Ravenna, or Mahogany? Judy, have you been to any of them?

Grumble...I'm having overactive bladder problems again. Went to a PA, am going to a urologist next week. Haven't had coffee/tea/soda for weeks. I'm trying some herbal stuff.
I don't have an infection, just a dull ache.

Buffy, what did your urologist say? I was having the problem even with the d-mannose.

Oh Carolyn, I hate that for you.
Are you able to sleep at night even though you have the ache? It would be something I'm sure I'd focus on TOO MUCH at night.

I have not been to any of those restaurants. Do you ever go on tripadvisor.com? I really rely on them for reviews. I think Mahogany is supposed to be very good - is it a chain? Kind of expensive?

I kind of think the Chalkboard is a part of Tulsa's later history. I sort of think I might might might have gone there with friends after work for a drink back in the 80s? And it has revived itself? Not sure about that.

I'll ask my friends who eat out more than we do. They'll know.

Hi!

Thanks, Judy.

Well, after having 12 cranberry tabs last night I really do feel better and slept really well..
The PA I went to said that doctors don't even know how cranberry tablets work on the bladder, but they do help in some cases.

The menu at Villa Ravenna looks incredible.

So glad you were able to get the pain tamped down. Hope it lasts.

So far, so good on the pain.

That menu looked marvelous.

Dh is up at the farm. A company is re-roofing the house. So, I have the house to myself!! I watched Acorn tv all day yesterday in between doing little things. Today I'll watch some more while sipping slippery elm tea. I did some laundry, etc. Lolol.

I had lunch with my gal pals today in between shopping for supplies for the lake. We're leaving tomorrow after my dental appt. Pray for us! I sure hope I can do everything I need to do! With DH's "gentle" instructions, of course. He is very confident that he can back the trailer in wherever we need it to be, so that's a huge load off my shoulders.

I'm holding steady below 140 so I'm thrilled about that! Tonight is dinner theater so I'm sure I'll have a bounce in the a.m. after having lunch and dinner. And the lake probably won't be very kind to me either, lol.

If I don't get back on while we're gone, all of you have a wonderful Mother's Day!!

Sandy, have fun at the lake!! Backing the camper....I'm sure Fred can do it!

Time for my haircut. Then come home and do a little spot carpet shampooing.

. I think we decided on the Ravenna. Those other places looked amazing, too.

What night, Carolyn?

Men have some innate ability to back up anything. DH has only one functioning eye and can back up any boat, Sea Doo, WHATEVER, with expert precision. I turn to quivering Jell-o.

Dh is a farm boy and can back up stuff like crazy..I can barely go forward..LOL..

Got color on my hair as it really shows when my hair is cut..

I am following the LC Cruise on FB as I'm friends with peeps that are on it. First stop was Haiti, then today is Jamaica. The LC peeps collected school supplies for the Jamaican kiddos, which was very nice.

Happy May days! Tardy to the party, this week, like all, is just flying by.

When my girls we little and we lived in Iowa, we made and delivered May baskets.

Carolyn, my urologist has solved my recurring UTIs, and I also give you credit as well. He put me on a daily low dose of an antibiotic. I also take the cranberry pills and the d-mannose as you suggested daily. I keep axo pills on hand. If I get any inkling that I may have a flareup, I take the axo pills and increase the number of cranberry and mannose pills until the symptoms pass which is usually very quick. When I saw my uro for the follow up, he continued this treatment since it is working. He said there really isn't proof that the cranberry pills work but a number of patients say they do and if so, take them. He also does not want me to take additional antibiotics if I think I am getting a UTI as it had become chronic for me and I have to break that. So far, so good.

Not much news here, been a quiet week.

All my kids and grandkids hope to be here on May 21st, that shall be my Mother's Day!

Good morning!

Our friend in Des Moines had a liver transplant in Omaha last night. He was doing great.
His liver wasn't critical, but he was on the list and a match came up, so off they went. His wife is great, so I know they will do great with the doctor's instructions. Jeanne thought the donor was from the KCity area.

Buffy, so glad that your Utis cleared up. That is so not fun. Honestly, for me, the cranberry pills are the key. I didn't have an infection, but just irritation, but 10 or so pills help a lot.
Now to stop the flare-ups... more water, I guess..

I have been making herbal teas from real herbs. Slippery elm powder makes a nice soothing tea for tummies and bladders.

Dh spent last night at the farm cuz the roofers had one more half day. Of course, there are only 3 guys working up there instead of a normal big crew.

Off to a meeting this am.... hugs to all..

Oh what a great thing to look forward to Buffy. So nice they were able to get together on one date. You will all have fun.

I will be glad to be fasting for a good long while today. I've over-eaten two days in a row and I'm over it. I've really enjoyed the way my clothes fit, and I'm not interested in feeling like I've been eating too much. That's the good part of IF-ing, you can fast away your sins! Lol

Buffy the low dose antibiotic for a year is something DD had to do years ago. She had horrible chronic UTIs. After that year she was able to stop and I don't know if she's had one since. That was more than 15 years ago.

Have fun tonight with your anniversary dinner Carolyn!

Fasting away your sins...LOL.. Love it.

I made some cheesecake muffins for a meeting tonight. I will put some of the low sugar
cherry topping from a can on top of them.

UTIs are the worse..I cheated and had a breve this am...Don't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing..LOL..

Need some slippery elm tea now, I think.

Well, my tummy is acting up so we cancelled the hotel and restaurant reservations.
Too many cranberry pills I think. I'll get a rain check for sure.

Beautiful weather here today as well, until predicted storms on Monday.

Busy couple of days ahead. I see the dr. This morning who is going to do the cortisone shot, hopefully will be done early next week. Will find out more about this. Then off to meet up with some girlfriends for dinner and then a Mother's Day brunch tomorrow. After that, headed to DDs area to see Ava's ballet recital. She is going to be a china doll, can't wait to see them. Dinner after that. Sunday I will be resting!

Cindy, that is a long drive. Sure enjoyed the pictures.

Carolyn, yes, lots of water is important although, I over hydrate, I have to watch it as I drink too much water. I am always thirsty and love water. Is there anything I don't love?

Gotta run, early dr. Appt. have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Definitely want to see Ava as a china doll!!! When are they doing your shot?? Will it be in your leg/knee?

Dh brought in food from a local restaurant last night for our anniversary dinner. The youth are putting on a fundraising dinner tonight at church. We got tickets, so will see how it goes...

Have a fun day..

I'll have to look up Holdenville on the map.

I hope you are getting some warm days, Debby!
