The dairy is because of the casein, not the lacto part.

Have fun Sandy. That lake will feel good!!

Debby: we need to send you guys some heat...I think next week might be slightly cooler.

Better get cracking...Cleaning day is tomorrow.

No thanks!!
I just looked up the record high for Smithers 88.52 F. I'm sure we all died! It really is hard on people who are used to very cold temperatures to be in extreme heat... I suffered so much last summer in Germany. I'm actually uncomfortable in the house if its over 68F.
I'm enjoying our coolness now. Hope you get some.

Debby, I do think it is hard to get used to extreme temps..

Judy, I can still have butter/heavy cream. Of course I had a bunch of ice cream last night and will give it to the neighbors today along with the sauces.

PSA: Mrs. Richardson's has an excellent hot fudge sauce..better than Braums. I did a taste test.

Celebrating with Brett for his birthday tomorrow in Tulsa..Getting the oil changed in the car, then Tulsa..The boys need shorts..Gary's shorts get saggy looking..Not good at all.

Dying my hair..It is a color called Dark Rich Brown..Who knows how it will turn out?

Had a fun day in Tulsa pre-celebrating Brett's 29th..He told me he had a date last night with a young woman from his SS class..She is 26. So, who knows? I hope her dad is an engineer type..

Judy, we had lunch at Smoke, which was very good..

Hope you all are keeping cool..Next week it is supposed to be hot, too. We are visiting our friends from St. Louis..Ron has pulmonary fibrosis, so we need to stay in air conditioning a lot. Fine with me..

Hope all our husbands have a good Father's Day.

We so rarely eat out. I'll put Smoke on my list. Good to know.

THIS.
HEAT.

Ugh

SS was was out of town for about 2 weeks, so DD, Maddox, DH, DSIL and I swam EVERY night at SS's house. Maddox went from TERRIFIED to jumping in and swimming around, telling us to stay away from him - he's got it! So cute.

SS and her DH are back from their long trip and want us to keep swimming to keep Maddox's confidence level up. We all need a little break. LOL

DD and I are going to go up to Ikea again Monday, spend the night and come back Tuesday.

This "heat dome." UGH.

Carolyn, where do we get Mrs. Richardson's Fudge Sauce?

Hi,

I got Mrs Richardson at G And W. I'm betting Reasors will have it.

Have fun at IKEA.. I saw it off the highway on the way to KC/Des Moines.

Off to St. Louis to see our dear friends. Hot there, too.

So happy Maddox loves the water....so important.

Ds has an ice cream date with his friend tonight. Marble Slab..owwww...

I bought a stainless drink cup from Wallie that is a yeti knockoff. 13 and it keeps water cool and drinkable all day long---even in a hot car. Love it. It is going with me tomorrow.

OH BOY!!! A Yeti knockoff???? Will keep my eyes peeled.
If you get a chance would you text me a picture?
I need this!!

How nice Brett has another date. I think you gotta do what you gotta do. He can eat a little ice cream. He looks great.

When do you leave for Sunny St. Lou?

I don't know what G and W is but I'll keep my eyes peeled for Mrs. Richardson's...chocolate sauce? Is that what I'm looking for? at Reasors.
Thank you for updating us to new LC products!!

We did grumbly work outside today. It is so so so so so uncomfortable.
I can't wait to take a shower.

DD and I leave tomorrow, returning Tuesday. Probably already told you.
They came by to leave a cute pug Father's Day card for DH.

Maddox is at such a fun age - his learning and ability to communicate and understand is just exploding.
If you TELL him to give Grammy a hug, he'll say no. If you wait a minute, he'll just come rushing over for the big hug and a kiss and "I love you" barely able to understand, but we all know. LOL

It's almost summer, lots of travelers. Be careful everyone!

Cindy how did your parking lot on the freeway end up??

Took 30 min to go 1 mile!! My poor horse. We left at 6am, went to Iowa City, Jumped cross country then another 5 1/2 hours home only to get stuck 30 min from home. He had a long day!

I am tired of this heat. It is going to be 100 on Wed! And it's only June.

Hi..

Back from St. Louis..It was hot... Had lots of fun with our friends..Ron is on oxygen all the time and isn't walking around museums much, but it is so hot, he shouldn't be outside.

I had a carbfest..nothing more said..Back on track until Thursday when we leave.

We stopped at some friend's home in Springfield, MO for dinner and then started back
last night..RAINING like crazy..semis flying by, thunder and lightening, so we stopped
at a little motel for the night..Cheap, but clean. It kinda looked like the Bates Motel, but
it was fine..Just got home and doing laundry.

Good for you, Debby..Keep us posted.

Poor Vic..Glad he is a good boy..

Judy, did you have fun??

Is Sandy still at the lake??

We had fun! Glad you had fun with your friends.
I think the heat is oppressive and I have not had any surgeries and am not on oxygen!
I'm already tired of it.

SS and her DH were told they had to retire because of the budget shortfall. Their kids are giving them a retirement party on Sunday. I am picking up some school cinnamon rolls today. They'll sit on my dining room table until Sunday. No temptation for me. I hope DH can hold off.

My cute niece has secretly asked SS's former students and friends to send short videos and/or pictures holding a sign saying "congratulations" or "thank you" or similar. We finally got our pictures yesterday evening. Brat pug wanted a picture taken of herself. She asked me to hold her sign in toddler font saying, "Congradulations. Now a cookie for me."
Brat pug thinks she's hilarious.
That's Sunday evening.

Tomorrow DH, DD, Maddox and I are headed up to the lake for a mini family reunion. We won't spend the night, just the day. I'm making egg salad and a chopped vegetable salad. DD is making chicken salad. I'm going to make some of Ouizoid's "bread" - I really like that recipe and I think DD will, too. We'll have lunch there, but leave around 5 and have dinners at home so Maddox can get settled down for bed.

Carolyn I am SO glad you all pulled over to the Batles Motel LOL! I think driving in crazy rain at night is just awfully stressful and dangerous.

Did I see pictures of Sandy with her dad in Padre?

My SS and her DH were teachers/principal, teacher coach.
Not sure they will be able to stay retired, but they are retired from Tulsa Public Schools. Were forced to.

JEALOUS of your blackout curtains!!! We have a wall of windows in our bedroom.
It starts getting light so early right now! There's lots of light in the city.

Would love to hear more about Sarah... I'm nosey.

Good morning...the blackout curtains worked great!!! They sell some nice looking ones at Country Curtains.

Sarah graduated from SBU, was a teacher for a year and now works at QuikTrip headquarters. Hoping it all goes well for both of them... she is 26..

Off to the shower/church.

In Woman's World, people are losing by eating carbs after they finish their protein and fat.
So eating taco chips after you eat your taco salad (no shell) might be a good thing. Lolo.

I hope your sister and her dh find work...I know Tulsa is cutting teachers because of the budget. Kansas is having problems, too.

They are okay taking a rest for now, but I don't think it will last long.

I went over to their house. One of DBIL's nephews, my nephew, his wife, SS & DBIL, my niece and her husband were all standing around their kitchen island dicing cherry tomatoes. Cherry because they taste more like tomatoes, they said. I think plum tomatoes taste great, but they were already doing it. They've got crock pots going with shredded beef and shredded chicken and will serve "street tacos." Trying to keep it easy, but they are working hard!

Glad to know about the blackout curtains I'll never have. LOL Too many windows already dressed. And DH would H-A-T-E them with a red hot passion. I want my room vampire dark, he can't stand that. Marriage involves compromise!

Sarah is a fortunate girl to work at QT. Great company.
I hope they enjoy getting to know each other.

Glad to know that QT is a great company...I had no idea what kind of a company they were.

Well, went to my acupuncture gal and had the results of my stool test..I do have one variety of bacteria that can cause both intestinal upset and bladder problems. So....since she doesn't prescribe meds, I went with grapefruit seed extract and caprylic acid. The results showed that these two things could get rid of it. I have lots of supplements..but I will only have to take these for a month.

I love cherry tomatoes..

Dh was the one who wanted the blackouts..Morning still peeks through the sides of the curtains, though, but dh says it is better than before.

Hoping you are all keeping cool....

Wouldn't that be GREAT if just adding these 2 supplements for a month could cure what has been ailing you? I will hope very hard these answer those problems.

QuikTrip was founded by 2 guys. One was Chester Cadieux - my Sunday School teacher back in the day.
He just died a couple of months ago. He had already passed the company on to his son, Chet who is several years younger than me. Chester died with Alzheimer's.

It's supposed to be one of the top 5 or top 10 companies to work for.
They have high standards, but treat their employees very very well, I have heard and seen in various magazines.

Hello from the lake! It finally has cooled down a bit for which we are very thankful. That would've been way too hard in my dad. He's having a good time but I'm afraid we're wearing him out. I know we're wore out, lol.
I could never sleep without my black out curtains! I've even made the fifth wheel blacked out using black poster board cut to the window shape. Our Windows are very tinted Shi you can't tell from the outside that i have poster board in my Windows. Love it!

Three dates already? Wow, this is exciting! And I've also heard QT is a great company.

We will be home next Tuesday, I'll try to keep up around here but sometimes it's hard when I'm not home in my usual routine.

Sandy if you check in, SS has finally finally started Fast 5.
She was certain she couldn't do it, having been hypoglycemic all her life.
She was scared to death to be without food. Would always have food in her car.
After going LC, had nuts everywhere.

She immediately lost 5 pounds and her tummy.

It inspired me to do it better, and I do not eat even a morsel until 5 or 6 PM.
Then it's a nibble, maybe.

One meal a day for awhile. I have plenty my body can use.
SS looks great!

Hi ladies,

That lake looks amazing!!! Glad you are having fun with your dad. I think poster board would be a great thing for your camper bedroom. When they fit right in the window, it is better.

Got down to my normal 155... Now vacation starts tomorrow. AND we are going to have dinner with Sarah and Brett. I'm so glad she is working for a good company.

Saw Scarlet today and she has been having bladder problems since November. Went to a urologist who gave her some drying up meds. Poor kid.

Yeah for your sister, Judy. And yeah for you.

I heard a story about the Casey peeps and the QTrip peeps. They promised not to go into each other's territory. Kansas gets Caseys and OK gets QTrips. Don't know if that is still true or not.

Chester had a handshake agreement with the guy who owned 7-11s in Oklahoma City.
He promised to never go into Oklahoma City and that guy promised to never come into Tulsa.
To this day that has remained true.
So it wouldn't surprise me if he made a deal with the Kansas guy.
At that time, I'm sure it helped both their businesses to have less competition.
Now there's a convenience store and Walgreen's on every corner!

I am sorry for Scarlet! That's too young to have such a long-lasting problem!
Once you reach our ages, I just expect it. LOL

Lindsey, Maddox and I are leaving for the lake tomorrow afternoon. Our husbands will arrive Friday. Our homeowners association at the lake has a BBQ every year, catered by Head Country, so we'll eat BBQ Sunday night. I bet we'll be ready to get home by Monday, the 4th.

Found out Annie's mom is going back in hospital tomorrow for 3 weeks for a hard chemo, then will have a stem cell transplant! Said they've been harvesting her white blood cells. But a stem cell transplant?? Oh well... will let you know.

It's 5:30 pm and I haven't eaten yet....
I know I won't be so good at the lake, but will still eat low carb!
