Good morning! Didn't get a chance to check in yesterday but thankfully have seen some nice downward motion on the scale! I decided to refrain from having any drinks during the game yesterday and its just as well since we lost We are taking DD to see Twenty One Pilots on Sunday so I'm going to try to be really good all week and hopefully my jeans will be comfy again by then. They're still feeling a little snug.

Pam - When I cheat with alcohol I'm usually down the day right after and then see the gain the day after that.

Kelli- I wish I could tell myself that but I detest the cold. I was made to live somewhere like Florida. Even Virginia is too far north for me, lol. I could happily live in flip flops year round and never miss the cold. But I do need to overcome that and get moving. I know it would help my losses in the long run.

Interesting - I thought it was odd that I see a "bump up" on the scale two days after .... The next day you get on the scale and think you've dodged a bullet... That you've cheated the carb demon... But then, there it is the next day. Just goes to show you that the consequence WILL catch up to you. After my dog sitting, there was a two pound bump up and it took 4 days to get back to "pre" weight, even with increasing water and induction level carbs. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone with that weirdness of delayed gains after an episode.

Kelly - I wanted to give you an update on the 2017 mile step challenge... Last week I had 5 days over 20,000 steps! That helped balance out the days when it rained/snowed and I didn't get as many - but I only have two days below 10k for the year so far. I figured out how many steps I need per day, per week, per month to achieve 2017 miles. I don't want to be obsessive/compulsive about it, but it's a fun goal.

Hey everyone -

Struggling a lot. Caring for a disabled German shepherd has been draining, both mentally and physically. We go back to the vet tomorrow but he is still not walking. He is eating and drinking though. So if he hasn't given up, then neither are we! But I must admit that while I was good on Saturday, I totally stress-ate yesterday. Was too exhausted to cook so we ordered a pizza. I've cheated today too. Got to get my head back in the game.

Pam - yeah I've noticed the same thing with a cheat showing up on the scale a few days later, or with the number going up for a few days after a cheat before going back down. It's a bummer to see but at least we're accustomed to what to expect.

Casey - it's such a fun goal isn't it? I took the day off today and we have freezing rain and ice here in Chicago, and I don't have access to a treadmill. So I've been a bit stir crazy knowing I won't get my 10k today. But most days I get more steps than my needed average for the 2017 miles by the end of the year so I'm not too worried about a day here or there if I don't meet it. Nice job on your 20k days!

Kt_mom - I know what you mean about the cold! I definitely don't belong in Chicago! I'm thinking Arizona is where I should have lived!! Maybe some day!!

Not surprised with the scale at all. No need to speculate why it jumped up that way.. I had a few cheats. Yesterday hubby went out with some cousins and I stayed home alone. I got plenty of rest but also ended up snacking on stuff that I knew was off limits. I found that I was eating more so because I was bored than hungry. Today my eating was more on plan. But am super annoyed because this idiot hit my car as I was parking and took off my side mirror. He threw his door open without looking and to make matters worse gave me false insurance info that didn't even belong to his car. Thankfully after almost 2 hours the police came and took a report. Now to file a claim with my insurance.

Looks like we have some great losses and a few gains on here. Hey, life happens and the important thing is that each one of us has made the choice to still come on here and be accountable. I am so glad that I have this group cause God knows that I would have quit long ago with everything that I have had going on. Tomorrow starts a new week and the second half of the month. We got this.

Kelly Prayers for you. I hope all goes well at the vet tomorrow. It's so hard when our pets are sick it's like one of our children is not well. Hang in there and please keep us posted.

Sorry I haven't been on here much this weekend. I will do better this week

Kelly - I had a black lab with hip displacia - it's hard when they start getting older and having trouble. Now I don't have a dog of my own, but I dog sit five labs and a mix - one lab is diabetic and another has COPD - yes, he has a doggie inhaler. I get the majority of my steps in by walking dogs. I hope the news is good at the vet. It's hard - they're such a huge part of the family. And I've found that I get so stressed when the animals aren't feeling good.

Late weigh in, but staying the course. I wonder if these intense workouts are affecting my weight loss. I never exercised before when I lost weight. Not sure what to do.

Good morning all! I was surprised and disappointed to see the scale up some this morning when I was on plan yesterday. Not sure what its from but I think I might do a modified egg fast for a day or two. It's possible it might just be stress and not sleeping well. I think I'm taking on too much. We too DS to see a speech therapist yesterday and he's going to need to go about once a week for a year. Insurance may or may not cover it. Which is frightening given the medical bills we already for DD's diabetic supplies and such. Plus its going to be time consuming and difficult to arrange at least at first given my heavy class load this quarter. On top of that our pool needed someone to be the membership director and I offered to do it. Given what I know so far its a ton of work before the pool opens getting the membership letters out and updating the members list and depositing the money and stuff. But you get a free family membership and that will save us about $400 and it was hard to pass that up with me not working. DD has promised to help me though so that's helpful. Ugh, just letting off a little steam. Its so hard not to have a glass or five of wine at the end of the last few days but I'm saying no.

Kelli- sorry to hear that your dog is still having troubles, prayers for his recovery and for you and your family while taking care of him!

Pam - waking up multiple times a night makes for a terrible nights sleep and you just feel so sluggish in the morning. Hope you get some rest today!

Ameenah - so sorry about your car, how frustrating! I hope they get the guy for giving false insurance information!

bella - I hate those jumps when we know we're on plan. I see your note for water water water! and I think I need to focus on that some.

Didn't someone on here talk about the La Croix water? I finally got some the other day. I usually don't like that kind of thing but I think I'm being much more relaxed with my fluid intake and drinking too much diet coke. When I started this last february I wasn't drinking any at all and now I'm drinking several a day and almost no water. Can I count the LaCroix as water?
