Be thin or be rich?
Would you gain all of your weight back + 25 pounds, and keep it on for your lifetime in exchange for an amount of money? How much $ would it take for you to be fat the rest of your life?
I was thinking about this today, and decided that life-changing weight loss is priceless. What do you think? |

I think single-mindedly pursuing either is a fool's errand. Living well and working hard yield their own rewards, and if they make me neither particularly wealthy or particularly skinny am I not still doing the best I can?
It's a bit of a false premise, I'd say ![]()

Blabbermouth!!!

I already have the rich part done, now I am working on the weight part.
nah, joking. I would choose rich. ONLY if I could then lose weight, but you took that option away. I would have to be fat my whole life? Then I have to choose thin. I am a frugal gal. I can stretch a penny so far it makes my hubby crazy...but we do so well on our income and have great things not being money rich. so thin!!!!! I am working on that now |

Thin. But I would change my answer if I weighed 175 and it meant I could be 200 the rest of my life and rich. Our starting weight probably skews our perspectives on this one! haha

Hmm- to me that sounds like would you choose money or health? (This is assuming I was thin because I was healthy, not sick).
My answer is a no-brainer for me- HEALTH! BUT- if the question was: Rich, fat and healthy -VS- Poor, thin and healthy Well, I'd have to get back to you on that one... ![]() |

For me the choice is be thiner or be dead.
So I don't know what I would be doing with all the money if I am dead. ![]() Even if I could live at the weight I was, I would rather be thin and not rich with money. Either way I am rich with love and that is what I really want.

I think it depends on how fat and how poor. Someone with her children starving might welcome being fat to solve that problem. If you have lost 200 lb, you would be less willing to go through that again.
Sadly, most will gain it back for no money at all though. *sigh*

i'd take the money, buy an island, and have my supplies brought in via helicopter. no one would ever have to know i was fat and i certainly wouldn't care. it'd make my life easier on both fronts...i'd be rich, and i could eat whatever i wanted! sounds awesome...where do i sign up??

So I would have to stay at 175 for the rest of my life? Now, that it's end of term and I have more work than hours in the day and surviving on almost no sleep, I'm tempted to go with rich. But, I'd definitely be miserable with my body, even on an island because I'd still feel physically uncomfortable, but maybe a designer closet and a personal tailor would help with that.

Well first I don't really count my starting weight because I had just had a baby and was nursing :P
So my highest weigt that was not related to pregnancy and delivery was about 165. If you add 25 to that then thats 190. I would take the money at this point. I got kids and I would be able to afford the best things in life, and the best food to keep me healthy inside. at 190 I would not have to bad of mobilty issues so I could still be heart healthy at that weight, especially because money is no object on food. I jogged 3 month postpartum at 177 and I am sure I could jog at 190. I do believe you can be overweight and healthy, and I think I would still look good. ![]()

THIN...Because I feel better than I EVER did when I was overweight and had not discovered low carb...AND because I have proved to myself (over the last couple of years) that I can achieve anything I dream of, if I want it and work hard enough for it (and yes, overcoming my illness and losing a ton of weight had something to do with that feeling). So yeah, I'll take being thin and healthy and MAKE my own money
