What a loser!
Here we go -
Day one to my status as a loser!! Weigh in this morning at 249 lbs... ok I didn't break 250 and I sure as heck don'e want to!! never again do I want to move that weight over!! Menu - meat today got up at 8am breakfast - nothing *hangs head* lunch (1pm) - 2 bacon/cheddar sirloin patties, a tbsp each of catsup and mustard and one bratwurst. dinner (830pm) - 2 brats with a tbsp of catsup late dinner (midnight) - maybe a hamburger patty head to bed at about 1am I work afternoon shift so my meals are kind of goofy. I try to eat every three hours or so but that doesn't often happen. I will weigh in each morning. I will drink the damned water. Gawds I hate water but I've found that no matter how well I eat, if I don't drink the water it doesn't matter. I need to take my measurements and post a picture. I'm going to cringe doing that but I need to be able to look back. Beginning measurements (ack!) neck 16.5 rib cage 49 chest 54 upper arm 15 wrist 6.75 waist at belly button 52 hips at points 53 hips below points 48 upper thigh 27 calf 16 ok off to see what others are doing with their journals to see what best I can do to make this help me! ![]() lori

Please do feel free to comment if you see something I could be doing or you like to add encouragement
It's all welcome!!*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Day two and no cheats yesterday!! ONE DAY CHEAT FREE! Weigh in: 247.5 - down 1.5 Water: Drank about 4 of the 17oz Dasani bottles of water - not enough. Today I will mix up a gallon of pink lemonade crystal light and drink that. I mix it at quarter strength; just enough to flavor our water. I swear I'll never be mineral deficiant as our water goes right off the top of the hardness scale when they test it and it tastes like it We shall see if that helps!Exercise: Bought a pedometer yesterday to start keeping track. walked 3468 steps yesterday from 5pm on. Tentative menu for today: Still working on primarily meat, may add a couple of ounces of cheese in for snacks and maybe nuts. got up at 930am (I'm a slug today) 11am B: breakfast sausages ?? S: 1oz nuts (not sure what I have) 330pm L: steak 830pm S: string cheese 1200am D: chicken I need to be more strict with myself. When I was doing this a couple of years ago I lost very well. I also kept my FitDay each day and lived on these boards. I can't live on the boards like I did but I can sure as heck check in at least daily and keep the food journal here. As for exercise today, I'll be walking and hubby wants to help me out... asked me if that pedometer counted anything other than steps LOL I love him so much ok off my butt and onward to being a loser!!! Ciao! Template for posting CHEAT FREE! 4 days CHEAT FREE! - I got ahead of myself there! LOL
Weigh in: 245 again - I think this heat has me bloated and I haven't been drownding myself in water... I have to get on that!! Water: not enough Exercise: not that much today other than some minor shopping walking. My back is killing me from Thursday night standing at work for way too long. Tonight they tried to find me a chair that would work and dam near landed on my keester when I went to lean and forgot it had rollers... *sigh* Tomorrow will be better as far as exercise goes as we are going to the Festival in Ashland and that will be a lot of walking! and today I forgot my darn pedometer .. gotta remember that for tomorrow!! Tentative menu for today: got up at 1130 - it was so hot we didn't get to sleep until almost morning went to wendy's and had a taco salad - ate lettuce, chili, sour cream and dressing. made a coffee latte slushy (coffee-SF chocolate syrup-cream and ice) had a ham and turkey roll up on flax for dinner 2 string cheese 3 oz nuts I'm a bit bothered by not losing today. I'm not sure if I'll have time to weigh in tomorrow morning before we leave. The heat is getting to everyone though so all are kind of snappy and short. It makes the stress level go up and then the emotional crap starts... I need to be very wary about that and try to relax and remember that the stuff isn't directed at me and it's not my fault, it's the heat making folks touchy. until tomorrow... |

Weigh in: not today and probably not tomorrow either. it's just too dam hot here Water: drinking a ton but in 110 heat with no AC I'm sweating it out almost faster than I can take it in Exercise: walked for about 4 hours today; can't find my pedometer Tentative menu for today: blew it. had pie and mashed potatoes at the buffet. I was just so hot that I wanted anything cold... had pie with a scoop of ice cream... and once I had that, it seems that the rest of the day is a wash... I need to learn to just start right up again. Not beat myself up over the cheat but not let it keep going either. looking forward to tomorrow - greek food... will have the grandson.. trying to figure out what I can have when we all go to the canal and everyone is eating treats grrr ![]() |

swiped out of Moni's Journal
Looks interesting and I do'nt want to lose it ![]() Basically, if you want to lose more than 60 lbs, you eat: - 1 dairy - 3 proteins - 2 startch - 2 fats - 3 fruits - 4 veggies - 1 free exchange that's my program but I tend to not eat it all because it's too much. I usually cut out 1 protein, 1 veggie, my exchange and usually have 0 to 1 startch a day (especially during the week - I'll usually have them on the weekend). If you have less than 60 lbs to lose, you eat: - 1 dairy - 2 proteins - 2 startch - 2 fats - 2 fruits - 3 veggies - 1 free exchange It's pretty straightforward. I'm sending you the document with all the food you're allowed to eat and the quantities. Right now it feels like the title of this journal is rather prophetic.... *sigh* and not the way I had hoped it would be.
why oh why do I do this to myself... I sit and think to myself, rationalizing while I eat. Who in the hell am I trying to kid?? I MUST drop some of this weight so that my back quits acting up. I"m sick of spasms and twingles and crap. I want to be normal!! I want to be able to walk! to RUN! to swim!! to be here for my grandchildren!! to live life again... and stop hiding out behind this damn fat. Hiding where no one will look at me. It's time to dress up... get colorful and jump out and say HI! it's me! get to know me because I'm going to be around for a good long time ![]() This isn't rocket science for goodness sake. Make a plan and stick to the dam thing! good grief! so the plan is: B - bacon S - none L- steak or burger with salad S- 1oz almonds in the car on the way to work S- 2 string cheese D- meat (prob chicken) and green beans now how hard can it be to stick to that. It looks good!!! drink a glass/bottle of water with each meal/snack and that would be 6-17oz bottles. If I have a few in between times as well that will top me over 100 ozs for the day. ok that's the plan. for goodness sake will someone kick me in the keester!!?? |

Those 2 starch, 3 fruits look frightening for Atkins , especially during Induction! Are you trying something new? |

it's morning... ok it's shortly after noon LOL Been at my computer most of the morning working on Myspace... menus and graphics. Too darn hot to do much else.
Working my butt to stay on plan today. ok kind of gonna have to make a couple of subs alreadyBreakfast was 5 breakfast sausages and 1 egg. it's ok though as it's still all good. Drank one bottle of water and 2 cups of coffee. Going for my second bottle and need to get in like 4 more before work at 5pm. Thanks folks for the good words and support. The "plan" I posted just looked interesting and something that maybe I could do more toward maintanence, not now although the lure of an apple a day is quite appealing! I just didn't want to forget where I had seen it and not be able to find it again ![]() My mom gave me a ration of crap yesterday. Told her I was going to the greek festival and we would eat there and she asked me if my only diet day was MONDAY! I guess it may seem that way to her. I have a heck of a time on the weekends especially when we are off running. Festivals kill me. I find it hard to plan ahead to stay on plan when everyone is grabbing whatever. It takes too much time to go back to the car... dig in the cooler... then head back out. If I could talk everyone into doing food out of the cooler it wouldn't be bad but most don't want that. Heck half the fun of the festivals is the food. I need to work on this.Thought I'd only post on entry a day but I"m not sure that will work. lol this thing will be 100 pages soon! oh well... I"m the talkative type and if I'm typing, I"m NOT eating!! lol ![]() |

Hey! I saw your reply in Gran's journal, and I do the SAME thing you do....
"If I had been on plan since June X, or since X was on plan, I could have lost X pounds by now!" So let's make a deal.... lose the weight NOW, so in a few months we can say instead "Man, I'm so glad I started this X days ago, now I weigh X pounds instead of the same X pounds I could have been!" That's a lot of X's, but hopefully you catch my drift ![]()

1 meal at a time...
made it through lunch. Had 2 hamburger pattys, 2 slices of cheese, brown mustard a bit of catsup and 1/2 cuke with LC french dressing (which I'm hording as I think they took THAT off the market too) ![]() I went to pack my work meals... I start at 5, get my first break at 830 and often get to come home at 11 or so... so at 830 I walk and eat. I packed 2oz almonds (one plain and one smoked), 2 oz macademia nuts, 2 string cheese and 5oz canteloupe... brb gotta check the carbs in 5 oz... ack, ok I"ll savor it It's a decent source of vitamins though so that's good and the sweet will help me not feel so deprived maybe I'll drink water and I have a bottle of green tea in the freezer to drink as well. I intend to walk as well. It's generally cooler down by the lake by work... we shall see but either way!! ok gotta run! I"ll try to post after work! |

hmm... why do I expect different results when I cheat? Why do I get so depressed when I step on the scale and my weight has gone up... I expected different? some miracle?? d'oh get a grip woman!!
I ate clean yesterday, maybe I'm happy I didn't weigh in I'm still sore from swimming too. It was good exercise though and I"m looking forward to doing it again! I think the heat is going to break (go figure we finally found an AC unit to order and it will be here the day before the heat breaks!)Food for today: B - cheese and meat S - none L- chicken and green beans S- nuts S- cheese D- left over meat? not sure what's in the fridge. 7-18-06 1050am - 251 lbs I swore I would never again move that weight to the 250 mark... but it happened. now to move it back down again!!! I also have to start making foods ahead of time and freezing them so I have stuff ready so I don't get so bored... bored kills me and I eat off plan. I don't want to get bored. |

Thanks Kathy
![]() the best laid plans LOL didn't have breakfast... we were running around paying bills and I even forgot coffee... SO... we stopped at the local buffet - this could be a bad thing but it wasn't!! I had a chicken breast, 2 spicy sausages with fried onions and green peppers, 1 cup green beans with parmesan butter, and about a cup of salad with V&O on it. I'm stuffed! Had a migraine coming on so took half a pot of coffee, some cream, ice and SF vanilla and dumped in the blender. Headache going away ![]() so for tonight... hmm Roger won't be home until tomorrow night so I have to be careful. Tonight will probably be cheese and nuts or something as simple. I'm not entirely sure. ah well, work calls and I have to answer.... *sigh* lol |

I'm here all alone... I hate this. Never been comfy when I'm by myself but it's only a night. Guess I'll let the dogs in to sleep with me... or maybe not and have the bed all to myself!! heheh
ok food: I was good!! made it through day two on plan!! had a couple of frozen coffees before work - I'm getting to like those ![]() I had my 2 oz of almonds at work while I walked the sidewalk. had 2 oz string cheese and 4 oz roast beef with horseradish rolled up together for dinner tonight. not a bad day over all. I did buy a new pedometer but must have not worn it right as it only register 123 steps... I know better than that! I was probably close to 10k again today. I'm not getting enough water in. what does everyone else do to make sure they get the darn stuff? thought and suggestions welcome!! night! ![]() |

Thanks Gran
![]() I deviated a bit from the plan but it's still good ![]() I had my 2 oz of almonds for snack and 1 string cheese.. when I got home just now I made a dagwood flax wrap; ham turkey and cheese with butter and a bit of miracle whip. yumm!! the pedometer worked to night and I wore it to work... lol I basically have a desk job. Put in 6541 steps at that desk job today! I need to think about some recipes I can make up that I can have in the fridge... If I get too bored, I"ll cheat. I don't want that to happen again!! I want this weekend to stay on plan! I'm sick of hating myself every Monday as I step on the scale and see a gain because I couldn't stay stong enough to stay on plan. It's not gonna happen this time!! *stomps foot* checking out recipes in the forums for stuff that looks good that I can make for Roger and I... single cookie! - perfect for portion control!! 1 T. almond flour 1 t. davinci syrup of your choice 1/4 t. baking powder mix and microwave for approx 40 sec on a small piece of parchment paper. Flaxmeal bars 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate nuked gently into 4 Tbs. butter..Take it out before the chocolate is totally melted..and stir.. You can then add flaxseed meal (3/4 - 1 cup) ballpark, Splenda (to taste), 1/2 tsp. vanilla..throw in a few chopped pecans. cinnamon.and stir until thick.. Then pat these into an 8 x 8 pan or a loaf pan, cover and refrigerate...Cut them into squares when they are firm..and keep them refrigerated. pan fried chicken parmasen 1/2 cup parm cheese 3T almond flour 1/2 t italian seasoning dash garlic Dredge in egg/cream mixture and then coat both sides with the mixture above. ah well... maybe I"ll thaw out chicken tomorrow and make parmesan fingers sounds kind of good!![]() |

*sigh*
something messed up yesterday and I was so sore and bloated I thought I would die! Promised myself that I would be good today and over drink my water. well, started good with my flax cereal (with peanut butter and cream) and drank 2 cups of coffee and then 2 jugs of water. well all tha fiber and water just aren't mixing... my system's not happy at all ![]() Today was just plain bad aside from breakfast. we stpent the day waiting for the guy who is coming to get the teils from us. I think the dogs are allergic ![]() we finally gave in and by that time Roj and I are bother starving. we went to KFC, got chicken, coleslaw and potatoes. I did ok, eating chicken and coleslaw (although the slaw had a lot of sugar in it - never realized how sweet it was before). After that we went to Cold stone and I got a tiny coffee lover's ice cream. I'm paying for it. My body is burning up trying to burn off that evil crap! I"m sick to my stomach.... I try to reason that if I"m good all week, a meal on the weekend won't kill me and realistically it won't. It will bring on cravings and make me re-lose some weight. it's not going to kill me though. If this is how i"M going to eat for the rest of my life, I"m not going to give up all the things I love forever. I will need to learn control though. and that is a hard thing for me. As for the week of induction. I've been low carbing (even when I'm off plan I'm fairly low) for so long now that I never get that induction week WOOSH! anymore it kind of sucks. I also just don't have the drive that I had when everything was working. In Sam's journal I wrote about there being some internal switch that had to be properly set so that we could do this and win at it... I think that is so very true, When it's right, it works. When it's not time, it seems no matter what we do, it just doesn't work and we struggle and struggle. I need to look for that switch... or just learn how to control... more food for thought.. at least THAT won't put weight on my hips!! lol lori |
